Guardiola's Total Football - Dominate Possession v3

Turning possession into points. Possession is not a romantic idea. Aim of possession is to concede less and create more scoring opportunities.

Football Manager 2020 Tactics - Guardiola's Total Football - Dominate Possession v3
As usual, this is a Cruyff and Guardiola inspired tactic. I have tailored these tactics after Josep Guardiolas philosophy at Barcelona and their players at the time.

Don't beat yourself up, we've all been getting it wrong. To make sure you get it right, hit play and drink in Capellos' knowledge.

Quick short passes, flicks and one-twos who could make any opposition team dazzle from the speed of the player movements and the ball circulation.

It’s all focused on not taking any necessary risk in your own half.

Anyone get any good results using this tactic?? how is it in terms of possession and dominating the match?? Been using RDF's pep Man City tactic and whilst it is really really good and controlling possession. I am struggling to score goals sometimes which is frustrating. I guess it is just how the match engine is in fm20. Possession tactics are generally always being hindered in the goal scoring sense..

I like lots of your tactic actually. I wouldn't change much other than perhaps the MezA with the IWS. With your half back & MezA your putting a lot on your RPM. To control possession even more you could highlight Hold Shape & Dribble Less as well, these would help.

@Si49 . RPM can be played in any league players dont have to be green on it its okay if they are yellow or orange even .

i dont think my tactic have generic roles' such as CF-A or CF-S

@Si49 not necessarily. Someone from SI explained this perfectly. But Lower League teams don't only use 'generic roles'. though a role like RPM is classed as specialist role, does not mean you need to have a player that's good at every singe attribute. As long as the RPM is at a good level, comparing to others in the league, and has decent playmaking and physical attributes for that level, then that player has a chance to excel. Someone like Ben Close at Portsmouth, i used as a RPM and he did fantastic in League One.

Terrific, how am I supposed to find a suitable RPM at that level? It's a high level role only surely? Same question with the half back, a very specialist role.
