I am sick of seeing all those strikerless tactics and the theory that tactics with strikers are less effective. There is an element of truff in that theory as it is much harder getting tactics with strikers to work long term. Under the current patch it has become more difficult. Even just one sriker (which is quite common within football) i found harder, 2 stiker formations don't work under the current patch, so i decided to go with 3 strikers!

How i made it work...
FORMATION
Goalkeeper - BGK/SK
Defenders - BCB/CB (all 3)
Lower Midfield - WB/WB BBM/PDM DM/PDM AWB/WB
Strikers - CHF/TAM DLF/TAM CHF/TAM

TEAM INSTRUCTIONS (IP)

Tempo - Higher
Time Wasting - Less Often
Attacking Transation - Standard
Attacking Width - Narrower
Play For S/P - Keep ball in play
Creative freedom - Balanced
Build Up - Play Through
Goal Kicks - Short
GK Dist - CB
Supporting Runs - Balanced
Dribbling - Encourage
Progress Through - Both Flanks
Pass Reception - Pass to feet
Shots from Distance - Discourage
Crossing Style - Low Crosses
G/k Dis Speed - Quickly

(Out of Possession)
Line of Engagement - High Press
Def Line - Standard
Trigger Press - Much More
Defence Trasition - Counter Press
Tackling - Get Stuck IN
Cross Engagement - Invite Crosses
Pressing Trap - Balanced
Short G/K Dist - Yes
Defe Line Behave - Balanced

WHY IT WORKS...
When out of possession we get every man behind the ball and the amount of interceptions because the opponents can't pass though is huge.
Even the 3 strikers track back making it very hard for the opposition to break through.
A recent game...
Sunderland 3 Arsenal 1
Possession - 35% - 64%
Shots 16 - 5
Shots on Target 11 - 1
xG 2.22 - 1.27
I played the whole of this match with CAUSTIOUS mentality.
While Arsenal had most of the ball they rarely looked threatening wheras when we attack we get 5 players in the box with 2 WB's staying wide to pick up any clearences, it really stretches the defence as they find it difficult to contain.

NO HOLIDAY MODE TESTING
I tried this with 2 teams Sunderland (pemier League) and Seaham Red Star at Northern D2 (Level 10).
With Red Star it was easier as they are expected to challenge for the play offs, i played virtually evey game with ATTACKING Mentality.
In the Premier League it is different and i would NOT expect to play with the same mentatlity against every oppsition.
It depends on your team but with Sunderland i went mostly Balanced/Postive at home and Cautious/Very Defensive away depending on the opponent.

Currently at the half way stage of the season Sunderland are SECOND top (altgough i will be happy with a top 6 finish) and Seaham Red Star are 10 points clear.

Sorry for no screenshots but my paint app on Windows 11 isn't playing ball.
