Eugene should make the code public, let other people take Genie Scout and perhaps even improve on it.
Lets remember that he himself received the code from Michael Nygreen from when it was CM Scout so perhaps its time he passed it on or made it open source.
the code genie got from Nygreen was freely available at the time - even i have a copy on my computer somewhere if people want it
then he updated it using the FM05 stripped headers freely released by SI at the time (again i have a copy of) then just kept updating the format as I have with FMSX every year
littleblue - i think you should give a download for it so people who have skills for it may update it quickly and share with the community.
theyd have alot of work still the format has changed ALOT in 6 years
so we need the latest format

Yes,I think Eugene may not be competent for this project anymore, and he should make the code public then let it go.The fact is FMRTE has released 7 versions compatible with FM2011 while FMGeniescout even dosen't have a beta.

In my opinion, FMRTE will never substitute FMscout, because the player searching and forecasting fuction of FMscout is more more better than FMRTE. Actually I only use FMRTE to fix injury, and when I want to scout players, FMscout is my first choice.
due like my self open genie scout 2010 and now opem the latest FMRTE in RTE go to settings and click on rating settings now ypu see the settings that RTE have by default to scout player, change all the settings of the player positions copying the settings of GenieScout. Now you have FMRTE scouting like Genie!!

It would be very easy for me to just close this thread and delete everything about it from the whole site, but I don't. Personally I read all posts, but sadly I have nothing good enough to answer for this one - I've already explained the situation in a previous reply.
You realize Eugene could just abandon his project and never look back. Will that be professional? I guess it doesn't matter because there shouldn't be any professionalism in doing something for fun. Should he release his code open source? Perhaps, but that is his decision to take; in the end it's his program and he can do whatever he wants with it.
Why do you care? Well obviously it's the best scout utility out there, and unless someone can come up with one of equal brilliance, we have no other choice than simply wait.
Honestly, I know two individuals who could together come up with something equally great or better... I'm talking about Kostas (FM Assistant) and Amy (FMSX), but won't happen this year. Maybe the next one? It's just a thought.
