Genie/FM Scout had the function to look the players REAL PA (there were a 'developing speed' rated by stars and the software could count the REAL PA so if a player has 180 PA but he could only develop to 140).

# hasif : yea thats the most vital feature of genie scout for me.This too, is an estimated calculation. If these "potential" estimates were to be calculated, one would have to take in the player's determination and ambition with a certain weighting and there would be other variables in the equation, too. Alas, my knowledge of how the attributes and player development works in FM is vague and I'm not keen on adding this because it's not a true projection of the player's development.
