I started using this tactic while I was in Q.P.R. and finished 3rd in 1st season.
Then with Man UTD I won Premier League, FA Cup, Capital One Cup and Champions League in one season.
Later I tried it with Wrexham and showed me that this tactic works even in lower leagues.
Here are some pictures of tactic and results:

Player roles are:
GK-defend and nothing elseDL-complete wing back-atack
Shoot less often, more risky passes, cross aim center and run wide with ball
DR-inverted wing back-support
shoot less often and pass it shorter
DC are both central defenders-defend
left MC-ball wining midfielder-support
shoot less, dribble less, shorter pass, fewer risky passes, cross less
right MC-roaming playmaker-support
shoot less, shorter pass, move into channels, cross less
AML-winger-attack
shoot less, shorter pass, cross near post
AMR-winger-attack
shoot less, shorter pass, fewer risky passes, cross near post
AMC-advanced playmaker-support
dribble less, shorter pass, move into channels
ST-advanced forward-attack
shorter pass, fewer risky passes

once u hit the first gear, there's no stopping for 2nd gear and 3rd gear
but the same thing happens 2 in 10 games when u concede a goal
suddenly there's no stopping ur opponent to score 3-4 more goals
With Liverpool I won 2-0 first leg vs Tottenham then lost 1-5 in the 2nd leg
Bear in mind that I have Mats Hummels and Skrtel at the back who are at their best form. Carvajal and Moreno as wing backs, Lucas Leiva, Henderson, Coutinho, Sterling, Lallana, and Sturridge.
The tactic is working great for the games so far!
