Possession is Everything - FM18 tactic

I've playing for many years Football Manager (since I was a kid) and I ended up with this tactic. I've tried to change it many times, but always went back to it!

The name shows the philosophy of my tactic!! The best defence is the possession of the ball!!

I used it in FM17 with PAOK (Greece) and I have managed to win Europa League against Real Madrid (in extra time) in 2021. However, I use it again in FM18 with very good results (except 1st year: finished 2nd in the league).




Philosophy
Use the control mentality in the most games, except these you are a big outsider!


Team shape
Use flexible shape from the beginning, unless you want to hold the result against to a big opponent; in that case change it to structured.

Player instructions
Full backs: Stay wide. Go forward
Cenre backs: Short passes
Attacking Midfielder: Hold up ball ( change him to Second Striker if you are home, time passes and you can't score)

In 8/10 of matches you will achieve ball possession over 60% and over 12-20 shoots.
