IN-DEPTH VIDEO ANALYSIS
Rúben Amorim is a very talented young coach who has been impressive so far in his career over in Portugal, notably for his time with Braga and now is head coach of Sporting de Club. What caught a lot of peoples eyes was his system and the results he got with them. Known to play controlling football, Amorim, whilst manager of Braga, managed to be big three in Portugal, who were Porto, Benfica and the team he is coach for now, Sporting CP
Style of play: When Amorim's sides build up they like to stretch the play. To do this, the goalkeeper must also be involved as a passing option. The centre backs must stretch out so when collecting the ball they have passing angles, the full-backs stay very wide with the wingers occupying inside, the half-spaces. The midfielders are both in the central area of the pitch. Looking to collect the ball but also make counter movements
There seems to be an importance in getting the ball forward and to the key attacking players, either to the wingers in between the lines or to the striker who will be looking to drop deeper in between the opponents defence and midfield. The wing backs will be key to this because they are the one maintain the width and stretching the play. In this 343 system, he likes his wingers to be as narrow as possible, this allows them to operate in vertical spaces but also gives the wing backs the space to attack and penetrate. This can create a box shape in midfield with the two CMs and again, this gives opportunities to overload and also use counter movements. The two wingers will be creative type players, who can play a pass, run at the defence and also get on the scoresheet
In defence Amorim's side shape can now look like a 5-4-1 with the wingers dropping deeper making in difficult for the opponents to operate between the lines. They also like to defend very narrow to force the opposition out in wider areas. To try and win the ball back, he has his teams counter pressing. The first bit of pressing will come from the front 3 who will look to press the defence when they have the ball and not allowing that ball to come inside. Once the ball is outside now, the wing-back is triggered to help with the winger cutting of the inside passing lanes. Having 3 at the back, one of the CBs can now cover the space left but the wing back and cover if needed

Thank you for your efforts
But I can't see the video... where can I find it
Your analysis turns out to be correct regarding to the midfield, if we analyze the end of last season and the beginning of this one. Because before Palhinha and João Mário played, Matheus and Wendel played as DLP and B2B.
I've tryed my Amorim "recreation" on the beta and it was very sucessfull. The only changes was the 2 mids ( BWM def and AP sup), the wide centre backs as BPD, and the right winger as IW.
Even the instructions are very similar. I'm glad that you did your homework and made a very good tactic.
Keep it up
For the other CM, a B2B can still be creative in the final 3rd and that's what i want this why he also has take more risks with the ball and as a B2B, he will roam from position
The AP out wide is to create counter movements which i explain in my video. With a IF he won't look to collect the ball but only to stretch play. Amorim uses counter movements, when one player drops, another runs in to the space. the AP drops, then we have the B2B and Wing Back making forward runs into the space created by the AP dropping
Also the forward role, Amorim wants him to roam from position, and get more deep so that the IF could exploit those spaces on the back (AP on the wing is wrong too).
Anyway, happy to see Amorim get some recognition for the good work he's doing. Cheers mate
