Adnan Januzaj has committed his future to Manchester United by signing a five-year contract that will see his wages rise from just £8,000 a week to £18,000. The youngster will earn in excess of £4.7M throughout the five years.

Januzaj’s previous contract, which he signed two years ago when he joined United from Anderlecht, was due to run out at the end of this campaign with a host of leading European clubs, including Barcelona, hovering. “It’s like a dream,” Januzaj said after signing the deal.
The nightmare scenario for United was for Januzaj to run down his contract and leave for a relatively small development fee because he is under 24, which was the way they lost French midfielder Paul Pogba to Juventus.
Talks have been ongoing prior to Josh Sleightholm's appointment as manager and the deal will be a significant positive for the club’s new executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward who has conducted negotiations.

“We have been trying to get Adnan to sign for quite a few months, Moyes had offered one a few times, so it was not just in my time,” Sleightholm was quoted. “But obviously he’s an exceptionally talented player and one we were happy to have.”
Januzaj is said to be on of the two young stars that will feature in Uniteds 13/14 campaign, the other being Premier League newcomer Wilfried Zaha. Both being exceptionally talented players, and fairly young, both are expected to make appearances regularly throughout the season, which leaves Ashley Young's position at the club in doubt.

Januzaj’s modest salary until his new deal reflects the fact that he signed for United aged just 16 and came through the club’s youth set-up before breaking into the first team this season. However, should he continue to figure in the first team he can expect considerable improvements.
It is also understood that Januzaj, who is eligible for several countries including Belgium, Albania, Serbia and Turkey, is leaning towards waiting another three years so he might fulfil the five-year residency rule permitting him to become an England international. The FA has already held talks with United to ascertain his intentions.

Swiss International Ricardo Rodríguez has completed his move to Manchester United

Ricardo Rodríguez has completed his move to Manchester United from VFL Wolfsburg for a fee of £7M. The Swiss left back has signed a four-year deal after passing a medical with United.

United manager Josh Sleightholm says he expects the 20-year-old to prove a big success in England. "Ricardo is a very talented defender with everything we need, and at the age of 20, he has a lot of time to develop." said Sleightholm. He added: "I think he can make an impact to the team now, despite Evra being the obvious first choice, but Evra still has a few more years under his belt."
Ricardo is United's first, but possibly not the only capture of the summer, speculation about Benficas Nemanja Matic has been circulating the sporting world, but confirmation from either side is yet to happen.

Rodríguez has played 41 games for the German side since his £7M move from Zurich in 2011, and not winning anything throughout his time there. The fact that United could offer up some glory will of been a huge factor in the Swiss' decision to leave.

"This is a challenge I am really looking forward to," said Rodríguez. "The Premier League is the best league in the world and Manchester United is such a massive club. This is a really exciting time for me and I can't wait to meet the team and start playing."

Luke Shaw seems happy enough to stay with the Saints

Luke Shaw will still be marching in wearing a Saints shirt after a bid for him off Manchester United has been rejected. The £15M offered by United was presumably an attempt to replace the ageing Patrice Evra, but since the Red Devils have brought in Swiss defender Ricardo Rodríguez, who is only a year older than Luke, they shouldn't be too disheartened by the declining of the offer.

The English international is still in the radar of most clubs despite the dismissal of the offer. Luke Shaw's childhood club Chelsea, and their rivals Tottenham, and Arsenal are all still keen to get their hands onto the youngster, and tie him down on a long term deal. Sources have said that Arsenal are prepared to offer £17.5M along with current left back, Nacho Monreal, but the offer isn't likely to be offered, let alone accepted.

Southampton are desperate to keep their talent within their ranks, unlike the past two left-sided stars they have off loaded. Both Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Gareth Bale were 'made' at St. Marys, and both play some of the best football around. Saints manager, Mauricio Pochettino had a say on the matter. "Qué podemos hacer? Deal: United's Wilfried Zaha joins the Magpies for the 13/14 Season

Newcastle United have won the race to sign Wilfried Zaha on loan from Manchester United. Stoke, Fulham, Swansea and Everton have also expressed an interest in taking the England international for the season. United manager Josh Sleightholm has indicated he is willing to allow Zaha to go on loan in order for him to play regular first-team football. He was quoted: "Zaha is a fine talent, but competing for places against the likes of Nani, Valencia, Kagawa and so on, he will find it a tough challenge, so a move to the Toon, where arguably he could be one of their best players, is more of a sensible move."

The England international, who has remained an established member of the England Under-21s, will temporarily move in the start of August. Zaha had earmarked Newcastle as his favored destination for a loan if he remained on the Old Trafford fringes. It is believed that Zaha and his representatives prefer the north east outfit over other mid-tier Premier League teams.

Everton was not regarded as a likely option, given that Premier League rules limit a club from loaning more than two players and the Toffees already have Romelu Lukaku and Gareth Barry on their books. Everton would need to clinch a permanent deal for Barry with Manchester City to get Zaha.

The wide forward joined United from Palace last January in a deal worth up to £17 million before being loaned back to Selhurst Park for the remainder of the club's promotion-winning campaign. Zaha has been unable to force his way into the first-team reckoning at Old Trafford and has fallen behind fellow rookie Adnan Januzaj in the pecking order.
