Mourinho on Sleightholm appointment

Mourinho: "Sleightholm is not at United's standard."

In an exclusive behind-the-scenes interview, TalkSport TV asked Chelsea boss José Mourinho about the other people in his highly acclaimed positions, the managers. "The managers in this league are all very good, and are all capable of getting their teams to their desired position." José was quoted. "However I do feel that some managers are not cut out for their current team. For instance; Brendan Rogers, and Josh Sleightholm, both managers of Liverpool and Manchester United respectively, I don't think are good enough to prepare their team to face this seasons challenges, Josh especially, I mean who is he? Some lucky guy who got a Youth Coaching position at the club, and suddenly turns manager? Pfft, what is that? I think United will be outcasts compared to my Chelsea and other top teams, but that's just my thought." He then added.

José made his return to Chelsea at the start of the season after leaving Spanish Giants Real Madrid. This is José's second time round managing the London blues, and hopes to be as successful as he previously was. Replicating his time before on the pitch is yet to be seen, but by his 'I don't care if you like it, it's my opinion' policy, Mourinho seems to be reiterating old ways.

We are yet to receive a reply from United boss Josh Sleightholm, but expect to have one soon, thing could get heated before the seasons even begun...

Büttner departs Manchester

Alexander Büttner makes £4.3M move to Community Shield runners up

Manchester United have agreed a deal with Wigan Athletic which will see Alexander Büttner move to the Latics for a fee of £4.3m.

There remains some work still to do to tie up the transfer, though the move is likely to be concluded in the next few hours. Büttner, the player whom ex-United manager Sir Alex Ferguson had bought from Dutch club Vitesse last season, had only made 5 appearances under Sir Alex and had scored two goals, but he only appeared in three friendly games for manager Josh Sleightholm, who after the signing of Ricardo Rodríguez, and the returning of Fábio from loan saw no future for the Dutch left back.

It became clear that Wigan manager Owen Coyle, was interested in the man that United had paid £3.5M for, after several enquiries from the 2nd division club. He had originally put in a bid of £2.7M for the defender, but was soon rejected and left him no option but to increase his price.

United boss Josh Sleightholm did have a say on the matter, "Alexander is a talented boy, and he can play literally anywhere on the pitch, especially up the left side, but at the moment there is no place for him, and I don't want to waste such a talent warming up our bench, or watching us from his home, it isn't right, so I hope there are no hard feelings between the two of us, and if there is any gaps to be filled, he will be the one to fill them in the future. Sleightholm was also asked to comment on José Mourinho's comment on his position at United, "He said that did he? Hmm, hahaha, he really is the 'Special' one, poor lad. Feel sorry for Chelsea, having to be stuck with him." Certainly there seems to be some great tension between the two that can only lead to a much tenser season.

Good deal getting rid of Buttner imo

I don't think Büttner is ever going to be a first team regular for United...I am not even sure why they signed him! A good story so far...to say it is United

Month Overlook:
First two games of the season lie in the depths of August, and both are very different matches, first of all we travel close to home as we face City in my first, competitive managerial game, and then away to 'blow some bubbles' as well as blow away the net when we face the Hammers on the 24th day of the month. Will we prevail with all six points?

Unlucky to have conceded a penalty that lost us two points. However the positives are we kept it down to only two goals being conceded rather than the amount they had been scoring in Pre-Season. A good first performance from the lads.

Bounced straight back from the City defeat at the Etihad to win ourselves three points on our own turf. Corner routines have been working a treat with Ferdinand putting it into practice, an exquisite display from the boys.
