I agree with Neal! Also, already fighting for the top!
AlexSonwild - Cheers mate, me too - he's already won a goal of the month award!

Neal & Pauker - Cheers lads - hopefully the form continues :)
OCTOBER REVIEW

October produced maximum points from four games - albeit against some of the weaker sides in Serie A but as the old saying goes - you can only beat what’s in front of you!

Top of the league and still unbeaten after 10 games is a great position to be in - 6 points ahead of reigning champions, Juventus and 14 ahead of our city rivals, Milan, who languish (satisfyingly) in mid-table.

One thing of note is that Sassuolo have a very interesting player in Simone Zaza, the youngster scored both goals against us and caused us lots of problems.... Scouting has commenced.

AS IT STANDS

PLAYER OF THE MONTH

http://www.calcioline.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/eduardo-salvio1.jpg

Christian Benteke tops the scoring charts with 8 goals from 10 games in Serie A but the POTM this month goes to Eduardo Salvio.

Our loanee has produced sparkling performances throughout October with 2 goals and 5 assists in 4 games.

FINANCIAL STABILITY

Massimo called me in to a meeting and informed me of the current profits being made by the club - the main reason being the collective £350,000+ weekly wage of Cambiasso, Milito, Alvarez and others being shifted in the summer.

As a reward, the transfer kitty has been increased to over £12m for the January sales!!

Obviously I would meticulously look at players who would improve us and it didn't take long until a new recruit was on the horizon….

MAJOR TRANSFER NEWS!!

http://www.benjamins.it/userfiles/Gazzetta.jpg

In a major announcement from the San Siro, a press conference led by Massimo Moratti, confirms the capture of Italian international and Pescara youth product, Marco Verratti who returns home to the Italian Peninsula from Paris St. Germain after becoming a champion in France.

The young midfield maestro will join in January for a fee that could rise to £22.5m.
Great job in the league, unbeaten in 10 is fantastic. Verratti is a top class signing, do think you overpaid slightly, as I signed him for merely 13m euros in my Roma save :/
Cheers mate!!

Yeah I did a bit tbh but they literally wouldn't accept anything else and midfield is somewhere I really needed to strengthen.

Thinking about sending Kovacic out on loan and selling Kuzamanovic and having Verratti and Guarin as my first choice pairing...
NOVEMBER REVIEW

Could we keep the momentum going? Would we slip up with a few tricky fixtures coming up?

The media were touting us as a 'flash in the pan,' that although Inter Milan have had a good start, we would eventually fall by the wayside and the supposed 'Big Two' of Juventus and Napoli would assert their authority on the league...

Well, maybe in December. Not this month.

Still top of the league, still unbeaten and still well ahead of our city rivals.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Christian Benteke takes the player of the month for November, some scintillating displays and a brace against both Udinese and Genoa see's him top the league scoring charts with 12 goals in 14 games.

COPPA ITALIA RESULT

F.C. Internazionale 3-1 Ternana

We face Lazio in the next round.
Benteke is just on fire! Great results :)
DECEMBER IN MILAN...

http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Travel/Late_offers/pictures/2011/12/8/1323342188802/Christmas-in-Milan-007.jpg

December… It was here. The month that could define our season - the month that we had looked at from the beginning of the season.

My first Milan derby, my first clash with Juve and a fixture against Roma thrown in for good measure.

It was a tough run of games, especially since the match with Milan was our 'away' fixture in the San Siro.

All the games were live on TV… Talk about pressure.

Instead of enjoying festive Milan and the wide array of stalls at the Christmas Market, I was chained to my desk mulling over tactics and formations to try to keep our unbeaten run intact.

That was all I wanted from Santa Claus…...
Verbatim is a class young talent, and some great results there! That looks like a tricky last month there too!:P

In truth, I thought Roma would present a bigger challenge - yes we were at home but with the likes of Adem Ljajic, Kevin Strootman and the legend that is Francesco Totti in their ranks, I was surprised that they rolled over quite so easily.

Eduardo Salvio put us in an early lead after only 9 minutes and the capital side fell apart almost instantly. They were arguing with each other, mis-placing passes and Christian Benteke's 30th minute strike made things worse...

Maicon was sent off just before the break for a rash challenge on Kovacic and you could feel the atmosphere surrounding Rudi Garcia's side was tense.

We came out in the second half all guns blazing and were 3-0 to the good when Guarin latched on to a failed clearance to smash the ball home.

We were enjoying stringing passes together and should've won by more, Icardi having a goal disallowed and Benteke hitting the woodwork twice in the space of 5 minutes.

IN OTHER NEWS

We formed a partnership with Swiss side F.C. Basel, allowing us first option on talented players coming through from the ever growing conveyor belt of young talent.

As part of the arrangement, we can send players to Basel on loan to gain crucial first team experience.

NEXT UP…. The Milan Derby…..

Definitely a tricky one mate!! Hopefully come through it ok though ;)
THE MILAN DERBY - PART 1

As soon as we had taken the three points against Roma, my mind was immediately focussed on the derby against Milan.

The Derby Della Madonnina as it's known in Italy.

One of the fiercest rivalries in world football known for it's fireworks and hostility.

I had drawn up my starting line up, eleven gladiators chosen to represent this great club in the biggest fixture of the season. Bragging rights, pride and being able to hold your head high in the city were all at stake.

Milan's mid table position in the league meant nothing, form goes out the window in games like this….

THE LINE UPS

AC Milan

FC Internazionale

AC MILAN v FC INTERNAZIONALE

Why was I even worried? Why was I nervous?

I have no idea, I shouldn't have been purely because of these two words - Christian Benteke.

We went behind to a 12th minute goal from Inter old boy Mario Balotelli against the run of play but the Belgian beast equalised four minutes later and gave us the lead on 31' before Kovacic made it 3-1 on 36' and Benteke completed his hat trick two minutes before the break.

HALF TIME - AC MILAN 1 - 4 FC INTERNAZIONALE

Matri gave Milan a glimmer of hope on 48' but Benteke made it 5-2 on the hour mark and went on to grab his FIFTH of the game on 72' before substitute McDonald Mariga completed the rout on the 80th minute with a header from Bonaventura's cross.

FINAL SCORE

I doubt if anyone would have predicted that scoreline but no doubt we have answered all the critics with 10 goals in 2 games against two giants of Italian football.

This was a sweet win, a destruction - we had taken our city rivals and stadium cohabiters apart on what was their 'home' fixture.

I applauded our fans and ensured all my players did the same, they were terrific.

Walking off the pitch, I knew that my drive was back, I listened to the blue and black wall of noise and the hairs stood up on the back of my neck.

I was back.

MAJOR NEWS

I got home and flicked on Sky Sports News to see that after a poor start to the season by Milan's huge standards and the demolition at the hands of my side - Milan had sacked Massimo Allegri.

I felt for him, he seemed like a good guy but tonight, it was Milan or Inter. Connolly or Allegri.

And I wasn't losing.
DERBY D'ITALIA

http://www.mcalcio.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/inter-juve.jpg

The game against Juve in truth was a bit of an anti-climax.

After our thumping of Milan, we went out full of confidence but to my surprise, Antonio Conte parked the bus, playing 5 at the back with 3 defensive midfielders to nullify our attack.

Few clear cut chances were created for either side and the game fizzled out to a drab 0-0 draw.

To be honest, I took it as a compliment. To me, this great Juventus side and their manager were intimated by us.

The whole world saw us destroy AC Milan and we could've done the same to Juve but Antonio chose to play it safe.

The balance of power is shifting.

SERIE A TOP HALF - DECEMBER

We head in to the winter break top of the league and unbeaten after 17 games, 4 points clear of second placed Sampdoria, 7 ahead of Juve and TWENTY ahead of AC Milan.

I've missed this managerial lark - it's fun.

DECEMBER PLAYER OF THE MONTH

5 goals against Milan and 1 against Roma - was it going to be anyone other than Christian Benteke?

Our big money signing has now hit 17 goals in 17 Serie A games. Wow.
