LOOSE ENDS....

As I packed up my apartment, I couldn't help but feel a tinge of sadness. Aside from the Castral situation, Milan as a city had been good to me.

Massimo took me on knowing I was a bit of a loose cannon, the fans were brilliant and the players did anything I asked.

They deserved an explanation.

I was going to fly home to Northern Ireland for a day or two, so I had a lot of waiting around - a flight to Dublin from Milan and a 2 hour coach journey on to Belfast.

I decided to take a full page advert in La Gazzetto Dello Sporto much like Roberto Mancini did when leaving Manchester and wrote a letter to the fans.

Dear Massimo, My Players and all the Interisti's worldwide,

I understand most (probably all) of you will find my decision to leave this wonderful club a strange choice.

You have all been fantastic and treated me like one of you since I touched down in Milan - but Aston Villa FC are a club I have supported my whole life as well as managed and to see them relegated hurt me.

I feel that it's my duty to return to them and restore them to Premier League status.

I leave the San Siro having made many wonderful friends, a lifetime of memories and most importantly - I did what I set out to do - return FC Internazionale to the pinnacle of Italian and European football.

Best wishes to each an every one of you for the season ahead and who knows, we may meet again in Europe!!

FORZA INTER!!!

Jason
What a badass way to leave Inter and return to your true home, but I'm sure Massimo is pissed off now :P
This is awesome. I wonder what's happened to the Villa squad that you left and could it be partly your fault for buying their best striker?

@Glenn - He was a bit pissed with me but we shares a drink before I left and he wished me good luck ;)

@Herowolf - Cheers pal! I'd say it's probably partly my fault in signing Benteke :( They've lost Vlaar, Weimann, Okore, Luna and Westwood as well so it's gonna be a big job!!
THAT TITLE PUN MAKES ME CRINGE STAHHP

Noooo!! I love a good pun!! :)

The task at Villa was daunting to say the least… I had a bit of a squad evaluation the night before I was due to fly to Birmingham and face the media.

Sure, the squad was more than capable of bouncing back but the losses of Benteke, Weimann, Vlaar, Okore, Luna and Westwood hit the Villa hard.

Gabby, Guzan, Fabian Delph and Matty Lowton were still there from my previous reign but the majority of the rest of the squad were unknown quantities.

Current First Team Squad...

Goalkeepers / Defenders

Keeping Guzan and Lowton are my two main priorities here….

Midfielders / Attackers

The midfield and attack have been hit hard following relegation - Gabby is the current club captain and I really want to keep hold of him...
Just read the story from start to finish... Magnificent. Also, really looking forward to seeing if you can get Villa straight back into the top flight.

Cheers mate - I'm quietly confident of doing that :)
Great way to leave! Nice Champions League win too :)
