Better late than never for Sasuke as they score 2 goals very late in a scoreless game. Vanraure pulls one back, but ran out of time as Sasuke start the season with a hard-fought win!

Guess who's back! Sendai Nakata got promoted last season and we will be facing off with each other again this season.

Surprisingly, for a team we hadn't played since season 1, the revenge teamtalk was still an excellent plan. Ryosuke Nagatomo and Taro Kubo's goals were bookends on a fine defensive performance which saw Uchino keep a clean sheet. Nagatomo's goal will be shown below, but Kubo's goal was also excellent, the closest defenders were miles away from Kubo and an excellent ball was played to him for him to score the easy goal.

Our third match is against Grulla, who finished third in the league last year, so it should be a hard match, but of course we can win.

Grulla 1 - 2 Sasuke FC

We staggered Grulla with a Yoshito Kawai goal off a corner kick. They equalized with a Ryo Sakai goal and the two teams went to halftime tied. Takayuki Sone scored in the 80th minute to take the lead for Sasuke again, and Sasuke controlled the ball for much of the remaining period to seal the win.

Somehow I thought about it while reading this update

I've never seen the source material but Spike TV had a gag dub version of it called Most Extreme Elimination Challenge where all the characters and contestants were humorously overdubbed. It's not something I'd sit down to watch but if I'm flipping channels it was very entertaining.

On a related note, the story is supposed to evoke a sports-anime type feel, thus the excited episode titles and title of the story.

Brilliant start eb, I bet you get promotion this year!

It keeps getting tougher as our next match is against last year's runners up, Primeiro, but it's at home this time.

Sasuke just kept scoring and scoring, and Primeiro didn't even have a chance. Oda scored a hat trick, Kubo scored a brace, and Sasuke are now atop the table!

Our next game is against TDK Shinwakai, the other promoted team from last season. They have a small stadium (but 9 times bigger than ours!) and only have 4 points from 4 matches this season.

TDK Shinwakai were surprisingly game and persistent, scoring first. There were a few lead changes, but when one team pulled ahead the other pulled back. Hitoshi Suzuki picked up his 2nd yellow card late, which dashed our hopes of winning, but we did keep the draw.

Cobaltore are fourth place after 5 matches with 9 points, and we can't overlook them.

Another close game, one Yoshito Kawai one for us by scoring indirectly off a free kick. Cobaltore had a player pick up his 2nd yellow late, which complicated things for them.

We've climbed all the way to first, and we're still unbeaten with 5 out of 6 wins! I don't see why we can't go all the way!

Apparently reserve teams are allowed in the Japanese league system, as our next opponent, FC Gifu SECOND, is the reserve team of FC Gifu, who play one level higher in the JFL.

It was the Mitsugu Oda show. He picked up a brace early, then when we got a penalty call, he got the call since he was going for a hat trick and scored. He picked a fourth goal to seal it.

NTFC Wiese is once again close to the bottom of the table, with only 4 points in 7 matches.

NTFC Wiese 2 - 3 Sasuke FC

The score looks much closer than it was. We were up 3-1 late, Wiese scored indirectly off a free kick (which was potentially offside) to make it 3-2, they were called offside in the same situation with seconds left to secure Sasuke's win.

The final match of the first half of the season is against Cambiare. They are currently third in the league but have defensive issues. Also, our training facilities have been upgraded!

A disappointment. I thought we did really well, but couldn't put it into the net until Oda volleyed in a low cross, which was instantly replied to by Cambiare. Still, if it wasn't for Uchino's goalkeeping, we would have lost this one.

Still in first, but only by a point. We're unbeaten for the half season, with 7 wins and 2 draws, which is amazing for us. I think we can stay unbeaten for the rest of the season!

...I've been getting a crash dump when I go from July 4 to July 5, 2015. I have no idea how to solve it, since I've never had any problems with FM14 before I'm going to assume it's a problem with the custom files. UGH.
