Well, why did I choose Man City for this fmstory?

The answer is simple. I support MCFC and am keen to bring success to our club! #mcfc

Pellegrini leaves Man City to take time out of football due to unforeseen circumstances.

Manuel Pellegrini has mutually terminated his contract at Manchester City FC. A source from inside the club explained to Sky Sports 'Manuel recently joined the club and was up for the challenge. However, circumstances now have implications'. Manchester City defender Micah Richards was asked on the way to training his thoughts 'well, you know how it is! We all wish the former gaffer the best'. Pellegrini has returned to his native Chile. Meanwhile, at such short notice there is only one suitable candidate to take over as manager- Sam Slater. He is odds on favourites to get the sky blue hot-seat.

Pellegrini, 60, joined Man City at the start of this season.
Well, that was a good bit of news on my front. I've always wanted to step in and work wonders at City. I'm going into the interview room at 3:00 sharp! Hope the panel aren't!

I've just come out of that tense room. I'm the new manager.

Right, I need to get the team together to speak to them, however I do have to speak to the Chairman and my assistant manager beforehand. My initial thought is to mutually terminate Ruben's contract to let him rejoin Manuel in Chile. I hope to offer Kiddo his job back as assistant manager.

Slater: unflappable.

Man City presented their new manager to the media today at Carrington. Unshaken, unmoved, unflappable. He was questioned on the nature of Pellegrini's departure- 'This is a press conference to introduce the new manager of Manchester City Football Club, not the old one'. Spence Spencer from Mirror Sport tried all he could to get some answers to the maybe bigger questions. A journalist from the Telegraph- William Waters, asked Slater about his plans for the transfer window. However Spencer managed to salvage this from the debate.
'Sam, you come to the club at a time where it looks certain that flamboyant right-back Micah Richards will leave the club- what are your thoughts?'
'He is absolutely, irrefutably certain to stay at the club for the remainder of his career. I value Richards and rate Richards. More importantly, I believe in Richards."
"Does this therefore mean that Pablo Zabaleta will be leaving the club?"
"It therefore, has nothing to do with Zabaleta, who I also rate and believe in"
"What about Edin Dzeko?"
"Dzeko? What about him?"
"He has been quoted as saying that he wants to return to his native Germany"
"And where has he been quoted from, may I ask?"
"He spoke to us before Pellegrini began as manager, and he told us he wants to leave"
"I will be honest with you here, if Edin wants to leave, he may leave."
"Would you consider selling Aguero if you received a lucrative offer?"
"No, I would never consider selling Aguero."

Spencer asked the final question: "do you believe City can win the title?". Slater concluded: "yes, we can win the title, but so can the other big clubs in the league".

keep em coming
So, all in all, a very good first day in charge of my beloved Manchester City.

It was nice to see Micah and Joleon still training at this late hour (11:00) in the fitness centre. Whilst passing the treadmill I spoke to Micah. Micah laughed and joked 'do you fancy a go, gaffer?" and Joles said "I don't think he could manage it". Richy leapt off and I jumped on, and pretty much proved Lescy wrong. In fact he went home red faced in embarrassment. See you all tomorrow.

Poynton, left, returns to City today.
Just welcomed the two new staff. Poynton had taken a drive around the lovely village of Poynton on the way. Don't know why. He came in laughing with Micah and Joe Hart. Well, Hart had Poynton in a headlock and Micah was laughing. Same thing? Maybe Steve Rowley can answer. He broke it up!

In my office now, just about to phone some potential new staff.

Man City raid Juventus

Exclusive: The Sun Sport can reveal that Manchester City are keen to land the experienced powerful Italian left-footed centre back, Giorgio Chiellini. Manager Sam Slater was seen this afternoon welcoming the player off a flight from sunny Italy. He was accompanied by his agent.

Chiellini, 29, has represented Juventus on 241 appearances.

PSG told 'No' By Man City

Exclusive: PSG offered £17.25 million, with £1.9 million initially and the rest over 48 months for Man City fan favourite Pablo Zabaleta. The Argentinian was alerted to the offer and spoke to manager Slater, who reportedly asked him if he wanted to leave, to which Zabaleta answered with a negative. Slater refused to even entertain the offer, even though it is a high transfer fee. "Pablo is a great player with great ability. Why would I consider letting him go? He was the best player during Mancini's final season and can potentially play on the left of defence as well as in midfield, so I could even play both him and Micah". Laurent Blanc, PSG manager added in response "zii, yes it is but a small shame. Pablo would have been humbly greeted into our little unit and made us little bit stronger on the edges. We are puzzled why Slater refuses to let go of a right-back who obviously is now below the pecking order at the club thanks to the tank that is Micah Richards".

Zabaleta, 28, has played for City 140 times since his move from Espanyol.
