Glenn - Liverpool wont be top for long, however Sterling is being a beast and btw Downing has been playing out of his skin

Aaron - I did put Arsenals money up because they do have a lot of spending power, however i have a awesome couple of kids coming up

Bennett Given The Call

As Mr. Hodgson took his seat infront of the assembled media for his squad announcement, there was a interesting look in his eyes. He thanked everyone for attending and proceeded to tell people that the last performance against Poland was absolutely rubbish.

'I have made a couple of changes for this squad.' said Hodgson. 'I have dropped Rob Green and added Fraser Forster. Forster has played very well for Celtic this season and the experiance of maybe playing in this friendly against Morocco will be a good learning curve.'
There are no surprises in defence. Gibbs is named even though being second choice at Arsenal and that has raised a few questions. Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross will have a chance of winning his first cap.

The midfield is the interesting area. New Arsenal signing Elliott Bennett has made the squad for the first time. The former Norwich midfielder has been in sparkling form for the Gunners and Roy Hodgson had good things to say about the Telford lad. 'Elliott thourally deserves a chance to play. We already have Alex(oxlade-Chamberlain) and Jack Wilshire in the squad, so why not see if his club form can help the national team?'

The other player to have a chance of a first cap is Liverpool's Raheem Sterling, who has played every match for Liverpool looks like he has a genuine chance to play against Morocco. Either way a defeat here and Mr. Hodgson might be Mr. Out Of A Job.

Back on Track

The month of November was a good month for Ole and his boys. The fans now sing Ole, Ole, Ole, Oi, Oi, Oi and Solskjaer is very appreiciative of that. This month saw a London Derby go horribly wrong for Arsenal but everything else go right. Elliott Bennett is now a full English International player and Arsenal scored 21 goals in 6 games which is no mean feat.
But what Solskjaer has done is mix up his tactics a bit more. There is always one upfront in the League but get to the Champions League and its 4-4-2, against wigan it was 4-3-2-1.
Fans are also now officially won over. Head of the fanzine is Bob Hope and he said 'the impact this ex Man Utd player has had on the squad is unbeleivable. He has bought wisely, Gary Medel is a awesome signing and Bennett is excelling himself espeicially in Europe, we think we can win the Champions League, F.A Cup and Premier League.'
With Arsenal playing better football people now think this is the time for Arsenal to shine.

West Ham Utd 2-0 Arsenal

Swansea City 0-5 Arsenal
Bennett (3,33), El Shaarawy (6,57), Giroud (50)

Arsenal 4-0 Southampton
Vermealen (11, 47, 60), Wilshire (71)

Arsenal 2-1 Stoke City
Walcott (18), Lewandowski (89)

Wigan 1-3 Arsenal
Lewandowski (41, 51), Wilshire (68)

Awesome for Arsenal, Swansea is a tough team to play in wales but Arsenal dispatched like they just did not exist. Southampton have been poor all season and this did not change. Stoke and Wigan were unlucky that Arsenal and Bennett, Lewandowski and Vermealen are all playing out of there skins at the moment ans this is why you see Arsenal in 2nd in the League.

Partizan 1-4 Arsenal
Wilshire (8), Giroud (34, 51, pen 87)

Arsenal 3-1 Dynamo Kyiv
Lewandowski (6, 55), Wilshire (pen 14)

Even before the Kyiv match both teams had qualified easily with TWO games to spare, but Arsenal showed they had better form by dominating from start to finish, yet again Partizan showed they were lucky to qualify for the group stages and might aswell of stayed in bed

Player Of The Month

Thomas Vermealen had a absolute cracking month, he had started it on the bench but has become the permanent partner to captain Per Mertesacker.
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/89/7f1e.jpg/
Vermealen, pictured above has been a tower in the Gunners defence and even scored a hattrick of headers in the match against Southampton. It is his first ever hattrick and he was very pleased after the match. We ar enow going to find out exactly who is Thomas Vermealen.

Thomas Vermaelen born 14 November 1985 is a Belgian footballer who captains Arsenal and is vice-captain of the Belgian national team.

Vermaelen joined the AFC Ajax youth academy in 2000 and won the 2003–04 Eredivisie title in his first season with the club. He had a loan spell with RKC Waalwijk before rejoining Ajax and winning the KNVB Cup and Johan Cruijff Shield. After Klaas-Jan Huntelaar's departure in 2009, he served as club captain for the remainder of the season. He joined Arsenal in 2009 and was included in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year for that season. Following Robin van Persie's transfer to Manchester United in August 2012, he was named club captain.

Being left-footed, he usually plays as a left-sided centre back and can play at left-back as well. His key attributes include aerial ability, leadership skills, and his quickness with the ball at his feet. He is also known for his goalscoring ability as a defender.

A former youth international, Vermaelen had participated in the U-19 Championships and the 2007 U-21 European Championships. He made his senior debut for Belgium at age 20 against Luxembourg in March 2006. On 8 October 2009, he was named Belgium captain prior to the games against Turkey and Estonia in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers but could not prevent the Belgians from finishing fourth in their group. He was recalled to squad for 14 November friendly against Hungary and scored his first goal for his country by tapping in an Eden Hazard cross. Vermaelen is regarded as one of the best Belgian defenders of his generation. Vermaelen wears the number 3 jersey and he has also won 42 caps for them and regularly partners Vincent Kompany who has 55 caps to his name.

European Golden Boy

Stephen El Shaarawy has been touted as the young footballer who will win the European Golden Boy award. This is a prestigious award given to an outstanding talent in europen football. El shaarawy capped twice by Italy is said to be honoured ot be linked to this award.
I'm sure everyone knows who Thomas Vermaelen is already :P

Anyway, good month, silly loss against West Ham, but can't be a hundred percent perfect every month I guess.
back on track :). great results.
Glenn - Yeah but it was a good opportunity to do a player review. :P Not 100% but close to it.

Diazapam - Yes back on track and happy :) Lewandowski is also firing them in for me :)

December Woes for the Gunners

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was a confident man at the end of November, the end of December however they have not lost any ground really in the Premiership. A couple of good draws, two disapointing defeats and some impressive victories including a big derby win.

Central defender Thomas Vermealen today spoke out as his Arsenal team have stuttered, He gave a rallying call and also called on Solskjaer to strengthen the team too.

Rumours are flying that Lukas Podolski is going to leave. Solskjaer is looking for a striker to help Oliver Giroud and Robert Lewandowski.

West Brom 2-1 Arsenal
Lewandowski (56)

Arsenal 3-0 Newcastle United
El Shaarawy (28), Lewandowski (43, 61)
Arsenal 0-0 Manchester City

Chelsea 1-1 Arsenal
Wilshire (20)

Liverpool 1-0 Arsenal

Tottenham 0-5 Arsenal
El Shaarawy (2, 64), Cazorla (50, 88), Wilshire (pen 74)

The shocking thing about this month is West Brom away is always a tough match. They also dominated the match and deserved the win and Solskjaer said that at the end. The bounce back of this team when they lose is superb and the 3-0 win over Newcastle and the performance of Cazorla and Lewandowski was exceptional.
But the result the fans will remember is slaughtering Spurs on there own turf. It was a absolute super performance and they will use this to work on trying to wrestle the title from Chelsea.

Panithanikos 0-2 Arsenal
Lewandowski (26, pen 66)

Arsenal manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was very happy winning the group and then also drawing a Valencia team who have struggled this season. It could have been worse but we missed a few big teams said a happy Solskjaer.

Disapointment For El Shaarawy

Stephen El Shaarawy was said to be disapointed after learning he had missed out on winning the Golden Boy award. El Shaarawy did say congratulations to the winner Mario Gotze. Gotze is a well deserved winner though and Stephen will have a chance next season.

World Team Of The Year

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/812/sjgc.jpg/
Per Mertesacker was said to be shocked but very happy at the news that he was to be included in the World team of the year. Mertesacker has been absolutely amazing this year said Solskjaer and it is everything he deserves and more. Mertesacker says he can maintain the way he has been playing and cant wait to pull on the Arsenal journey again.
A tough month for the team good luck ahead, as many victories.

Arsenal Take Advantage And Sign Benteke

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/543/zkxk.jpg/

Arsenal have signed Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke in what will be the only signing Arsenal manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will make. He joins for an initial 10,250,000 with a further 5,000,000 in add ons.

Benteke is very happy to have left Villa who got rid of Manager Paul Lambert, the reason he had signed a new contract, 'as soon as I new Arsenal were after me, I wanted to go.'

Benteke can't wait to play for Arsenal but also knows he has to fight Giroud and Lewandowski for a place and is quite willing to do that.

January Draws Frustrate Arsenal

Arsenal Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was said to be extremely unhappy at his teams play. He gave his defence a right 'bollocking' in his words after the match against Aston Villa and Reading. So much so he went and bought two players, which will be revealed after this. It was again cup woe for Arsenal when going out to Coventry City.

Elliott Bennett again had a storming month and even netted a hattrick. Robert Lewandowski again impressed and Christian Benteke looked good on his debut too.

Arsenal's position in the Premier League is now making Solskjaer under a little bit of pressure as they have now slipped out of the top 4. Fans want results and it is upto the team now to show the faith in there Manager that he has put in them.

Arsenal 2-0 Norwich
Ramsey (24, 40)

Reading 1-1 Arsenal
El Shaarawy (86)

Arsenal 6-2 Fulham
Bennett (2, 8, 41), Lewandowski (21, 22), Gnabry (67)

Aston Villa 2-2 Arsenal
Bennett (17), Downing (27)

Q.P.R 1-1 Arsenal
Bennett (90+2)

It was a interesting month for Arsenal they were unbeaten and got revenge on the 5-2 defeat by Fulham by smashing them 6-2. Norwich were taught a footballing lesson too. But Reading and Aston Villa both hit late to snatch draws, then Elliott Bennett hit an amazing free kick to snatch a late draw against Q.P.R.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/850/529a.jpg/

Coventry 1-2 Arsenal
Wilshire (47)

Coventry City celebrate there best win since being in the premier league. They totally outplayed Arsenal and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was very complimentary about how well they played in this match.

Transfers In

Despite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer saying that Christian Benteke was going to be the only transfer in this window he moved to shore up his defence after recent performances so lets look at the two players recruited in.

Benoit Tremoulinas - 15,750,000 From Bordeaux
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/202/k2wg.jpg/

Left Back Benoit Tremioulinas joins from French club Bordeaux and is in to provide competition for Monreal which almost certainly means that Kieran Gibbs is on his way out of the club. So who is this Frenchman?

Trémoulinas was born in the commune of Lormont, a suburb located on the outskirts of Bordeaux, and began his career playing for hometown club US Lormont. In 1994, he signed a youth contract with FC Girondins de Bordeaux. Trémoulinas spent approximately seven years in the club's youth system and one year in the Championnat de France amateur before earning a call up to the senior team in preparation for the 2007–08 season following the signing of his professional contract. He was designated the number 28 shirt and served as backup to the younger Florian Marange and elder Franck Jurietti. Trémoulinas made his professional debut on 15 August 2007 in a league match against Le Mans. He was limited to only nine league appearances, but was a regular in the club's 2007–08 UEFA Cup campaign appearing in seven matches and also scoring his first European goal in a 3–2 victory over Greek club Panionios.

Trémoulinas was slowly integrated into the squad for the 2008–09 season by manager Laurent Blanc upending both Marange and Jurietti, though the latter was still relied more upon in important matches, such as when he started for Trémoulinas in matches against Paris Saint-Germain, Lyon, and the 2009 Coupe de la Ligue Final. Trémoulinas did appear in the final as a substitute in the 17th minute for the injured Brazilian Wendel, but had to substituted out at halftime, also due to injury. Bordeaux won the match 4–0 giving Trech, as he is called by the Bordeaux faithful, his first career club honour. Following the final, Trémoulinas started the final five matches of the season helping Bordeaux win its first league title since 1999. In total with the team, he appeared in 31 matches scoring his only goal of the season against Guingamp in a 4–2 victory in the Coupe de la Ligue.

On 29 May 2009, Trémoulinas was rewarded with a contract extension keeping him with the club until June 2013. Trémoulinas successful play during the 2009–10 Ligue 1 season saw the player attract interest from Italian clubs A.C. Milan, Juventus and Fiorentina, and Spanish club Real Madrid, though Trémoulinas quickly brushed off the rumours. He was among the top assists providers in the league primarily due to his crosses and ability to get forward.

Kyriakos Papadopoulos - 21,500,000 From Schalke
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/18/ge8t.jpg/
Kryiakos also comes in for 21,500,000. Manager Solskjaer activated his release clause and the Greek defender, highly rated by a lot of top clubs was ver impressed with Arsenal's vision and what there Norwegen manager wants to do. Papadopoulos cant speak much english but was able to say he was happy to sign for a club in England.

So there is the January update and lets hope Arsenal can win more in February.
Wow! That was like Tremoulinas' biography!

Arsenal Improve!

Arsenal had a fantastic month in February as they improved to win a snatch and grab win against Manchester United where Elliott Bennett dominated the second half and scored a sublime 25 yard free kick to win the match. He then starred in the Champions League and scored one and set up two.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said that Arsenal are the team to fear now as they have team spirit and are banging in the goals, we just have to cut out the silly defeats now.

The Champions League first knockout round is all but over as Arsenal thrashed Valencia.

Arsenal 0-1 Sunderland

Arsenal 2-1 Manchester United
Bennett (58, 90+4)

Arsenal 2-0 West Ham United
Wilshire (32), Pertesacker (83)

Arsenal had a dodgy start to the month but the last two games of the month were good wins. West Ham are struggling and Arsenal dispatched them easily. The United match though Elliott Bennett won it on his own with two scorching goals.

It looks a two horse race at the top but Solskjaer is convinced Arsenal can still win the title, that remains to be seen.

Valencia 2-5 Arsenal
Bennett (7), Mertesacker (17), Lewandowski (22), Benteke (55), Wilshire (89)

Arsenal firmly in the driving seat in this round of the Champions League so here is the other results too
WOW you destroyed Villa :(

Good signings, title will be yours no sweat ;)
Jason - I hope so I have destroyed several teams this season but the spurs results are the best
Well for me thats a nice season, concentrate in winning the CL and in the premier league try to finish in a CL spot. What a beast is Bennet :O
