A great start in typical brilliant Seni style. I do think though it may be a bit too early for Wilshere to be captain...but it may turn out to make him a better player being given the responsibility.
Nice writing mate good updates so far! Wilshere as captain after his swearing act? OOOOOO CONTROVERSIAL loll but good luck to him maybe he'll grow up a bit
Great start Seni looking forward to another of your stories
And nice signings

Thanks for all the nice comments, I appreciate them :). Wilshere should grow up a bit now he has some responsibility!

Fergie :"If Arsenal want to win anything, they must turn into men!"

Former United manager, and legend in the game Sir Alex Ferguson has publicly blasted Arséne Wenger's young Arsenal side titling them as "immature" and "not good enough". Throughout the week, the press have labelled Arsenal as title contenders for once however, Fergie seems to strongly disagree with this and hasn't been shy to voice his opinions...as usual. His comments could spark yet another feud between himself and Arséne Wenger.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Fergie was asked what he thought about Arsenal and if they were genuine title contenders, here is what he had to say:
"Well, how can a bunch of little boys be title contenders? Not possible. That's what Wenger has, a bunch of kids. The club started tending to children a good eight years ago. Why do you think they haven't won any trophies?
Honestly, if Arsenal want to win anything, there little boys need to grow up and turn into men. Whinging all the time about decisions and tackles will not get them anywhere, Wenger knows this but its whether or not he will do it. Even during the invincibles, the club had babies but the quality of those babies overshadowed their immaturity. Now you have babies at the club who can hardly kick a ball. I don't think you can call them title contenders no."
The Arsenal players will not react nicely to Fergie's rather harsh but maybe true comments. Whether Wenger will reply or not is a whole different case. Does Fergie have a point about Arsenal? Is he being harsh?
Oooh Fergie attacking Arsenal... Sounds a bit like Alan Hansen's famous "You can't win anything with kids" quote.

Arsenal given tough group in champions league!

The champions league is a tournament that has meant so much to the Gunners in the past. Despite the fact that they have never won the tournament, Wenger has always found a way to make sure that his side qualifies for the champions league, and in recent years at has been at the expense of their most fierce rivals, Tottenham!
Following their demolition of FC Red Bull Salzburg, Arsenal have been drawn into group D of the Uefa Champions league alongside, CSKA Moscow, Ajax and Napoli. Once again Arsenal were drawn into a very tough group and will have to work very hard to qualify, talk-less of finish first. In the past, Arsenal have been punished for finishing second, being drawn to teams such as Bayern and Barcelona.
This year, Arsenal will be hoping to pass the round of 16 where they've been knocked out over the past few years. Can Arsenal prevail after being placed in such a difficult group?
Group D

Gunners start off strongly!

Arsenal have started off their competitive campaign very strongly. The mixture between attractive football and clinical finishing has paid off for the Gunners. French striker Olivier Giroud has been in great form for Arséne Wenger's side. The North London side are currently unbeaten and will be hoping to keep up their good form.
Crystal Palace would host an ambitious and newly strengthened Arsenal side at Selhurst Park. The newly promoted side played some great football and at times frustrated the Arsenal side but young English winger, Oxlade Chamberlain scored the winner to give Arsenal the three points. Up next for Arsenal was their very important champions league play off fixture vs FC Red Bull Salzburg. Carlos Vela was by far the man of the match with a stunning hattrick on his first game. New captain Jack Wilshere and Ozil also got onto the scoresheet.
Norwich were next to suffer the wrath of Arsenal as they were thumped 3-0 by Arsenal at the Emirates. Just a few days after this the North London side confirmed their place in this year's champions league with a 2-0 victory over FC Red Bull.
A trip to Anfield was Arsenal first real test of the season. Daniel Sturridge scored first to give Liverpool the lead and celebrated in his usual fashion, but just four minutes later Mertesacker equalised. The game ended 1-1 but it was a very entertaining match to watch. Wenger would have been pleased with his sides efforts.
Next up was a game that all fans would have been waiting for, a derby, a London derby and at the Emirates as Arsenal hosted West Ham. The game lacked discipline as yellow cards were dished out frequently. Matthieu Flamini saw red for two horrible challenges. He was lucky that he spent so long on the pitch anyway. That wouldn't stop Arsenal from getting the three points as Koscienly headed home a crucial goal. The chants "1-0 to the Arsenal" echoed around the Emirates.
Following the Emirates cup, Arsenal and Napoli would have been hoping to cancel each other out on a chilly champions league night. During the summer the two teams drew 2-2. Before the game Arséne Wenger had vowed to defeat Napoli and his side did exactly that winning 2-0. Santi Cazorla and Lukas Podolski scored the only goals of the game. Game after game, Arsenal's momentum was building up and Newcastle suffered from this losing 4-2 at the Emirates. Olivier Giroud scored a delightful hattrick, his first as an Arsenal player.
A trip to Blackpool, in the capital one cup, allowed Wenger to rest key players and so he did. Fringe players such as Bendtner and Rosicky played but it was those fringe players who won the game for the Gunners. The game was overshadowed by a controversial decision from the referee refusing to give Blackpool a penalty. This incident saw Wenger and Ince exchange words not only during the game but after it.

Finally Arsenal faced Aston Villa in a thrilling encounter. Christian Benteke stole the show with a brilliant hattrick, however that was not enough to give them the three points as Arsenal showed a different, more mean side to them. Yet another three points for the Arsenal.
Arsenal are second in the premier league, just behind City on goal difference. Wenger would be pleased with his sides dominant displays so far but can Arsenal keep it up? In the champions league they sit on top of group D. All Arsenal fans will be praying for their side to stay there and qualify in that position.

Player of the month

Giroud has been in fantastic form so far scoring 5 goals in 5 appearances. Despite his great performance, Arsenal may still need to buy another striker as Vela and Podolski have been operating on the wings.
Is Giroud scared of putting his thumb all the way in? x'D Well done mate, great start!

Lol, thanks Aaron !

Being captain is great, Fergie doesn't what he is saying

When on international duty for England, Arsenal captain Jack Wilshere spoke fluently and boldly to the press about his captaincy and certain Arsenal critics *hint**hint*. With a tight schedule Wilshere could only answer a few questions from the press and boy was it an interesting press conference.
Below are the key questions asked by journalists who were present at St.George's park:
Hello Jack, congratulations on yet another England call up and more importantly, congratulations on becoming the captain of Arsenal at such a young age, how did you feel when you found out.
Thanks for the nice wishes mate. Well I was a bit surprised to be honest. We were on the training ground and the boss called me over and told me he had finally made the decision to appoint me as captain. At first I felt a bit bad for Thomas, but the boss told me he approved it and believed it would be best for his career to step down so in the end I felt really pleased. Secretly I had always wanted to captain Arsenal so being able to week after week is a great feeling and I thank the boss for trusting me.
Hi Jack, John from the Mirror here. Many in the past have considered you to be too young to be captain, or too immature and they've had this mindset that it would ruin your career, what do you think about this?
I understand where they are coming from, but people will always say something bad to say. I don't see anything wrong with a young captain. Tony Adams was captain at a young age, you look at teams such as Southampton, Adam Lallana is captain. Age comes with experience yes, but I think I'm ready to be captain. Me being appointed captain will not and hasn't affected my performances so far. I've started the season strongly and I will hope to do so throughout the season. I feel fitter than ever which is great.
Jane from the Sun here, do you think one day you will be captain of England?
*laughs* You'll have to ask the boss that. Whether its our current one or whoever it is, as a player I can't decide but it would be a great honour to captain my nation a very great honour. There are a few other lads in the team though who could also be captain in the future so it would be a tough decision to make.
John again from the Mirror. A few weeks ago you made a statement about foreigners playing for England, which sparked a lot of controversy, do you care to clean that up or further explain.
What I meant was that, only people who are English, not necessarily meaning you were born in the country but maybe your parents are English etc. Those who gain citizenship because they moved over and lived here for 5 years aren't really English.
Zack from Daily Mail here, thank you very much for clearing that up, recently Sir Alex Ferguson made some harsh comments concerning Arsenal and labelled the players as babies and children, what do you think about this?
Do you want my honest opinion?
Yes please
Well I think he is deluded if he thinks that. Its quite shameful that a man like him would randomly attack us, what did we do to him? Is it because we won the league at Old Trafford or something? We have a very young squad yes. We tend to complain when playing, especially when against United, at Old Trafford because you are almost certain to have decisions going against you at Old Trafford, its a tradition. He (Fergie) always use to install fear into officials. Who knows he could have offered them a tip or two. I know I may get in trouble for saying that but its worth it. He doesn't know what he is saying. If you ask me, we'll finish above United this year. If Ferige wants we can even bet on it.
Jason from Sky Sports news here, the world cup next year, do you honestly think England have a chance of winning it?
Yes we do, but it all depends on which mindset all the players have when going to Brazil. Do we have the mindset that we can be champions and the mindset to fight. If we face a big team, do we show them any respect? Do we regard ourselves as a big team that can beat anyone, whether Germany, Brazil or Spain. All those factors and many more will determine how we do at the world cup. In the past we've gone there and been cheated or gone with a bad mindset. Hopefully next year in Brazil, will be a tournament to remember for us.
2013-12-12 18:25#148995 TK69 : I will bet a million pounds that I will enjoy this story! It's looking like I get to keep my imaginary money!
