Is this the end of Arséne?

Following yet another trophy-less season for The Gunners and Arsenal fans beginning to show their most ultimate frustration, many have wondered if this is it. Would this be the last season Arséne would walk his team on to the pitch, or constantly argue with fourth officials over a decision that has gone against his side. Despite many fans concerns, and the "Wenger out" brigade growing in number, the answer is...NO!

On the official Arsenal website, Arsenal.com, the club confirmed that they are delighted to confirm that Wenger has signed a new three year deal. The club controversially stated that there is no other man for the Arsenal job, and they believe Arséne will only take the club forward despite some rough years, eight in total to be precise.

The club released a statement saying:

"We are delighted to announce that Arséne Wenger has signed a three year deal. Arséne has been a great servant to the club and we are sure he will do his best as usual, to lead the club to glory once again".

If Arsenal are to win any trophy this year, can they do it with their current squad or will Mr.Wenger have to finally spend some cash in order to see his side finally lift a trophy after a long period of time. Arsenal were linked to Higuain but the striker recently joined Napoli after Wenger refused to pay the extra cash being asked for.

Should Arséne have been given a new contract, or should he have been let go?

"Only those thinking about money would leave the club right now"

When the board told me a week in advance that they needed to talk to me concerning my contract, I wasn't nervy. Throughout that week I remained confident that the board still ha faith in me and my confidence and patience was rewarded. We briefly discussed the way forward for the club, we did discuss about signings that need to made as well. The signing of Mesut Ozil was a great one but a few players still need to be brought in and some must leave.

There was no way I would or I am ever going to walk out on this club. That would be like cutting out 3/4 of your heart and still trying to live, simply impossible. Only those thinking about money would leave the club right now, some important players have done that in the past but I shall not join that list. My business with this club is far from finished, we will conquer greater things before retirement even comes into my mind.

Concerning signings and tactics for the upcoming season. The scouts have been looking at two defenders in particular, who play in the premier league but for obvious reasons, must remain unnamed. We are working very hard to try and wrap up the transfers before the window closes. A first team player could be on his way out of the club due to problems with contract talks. Nonetheless we are confident for the upcoming season.

Our tactics are very important. They are what have made us play such attractive football over the past decade or so. It would be nice for our effort and creativity to be rewarded this season. We will play a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3 during the season. The coaches are still considering adding a formation that will enable us to play with two strikers, but that isn't likely to happen.

I firmly believe we will do very well this season if we put in the hard work and effort.

Sagna finally leaves and Richards finally joins

Following months of contract talks, French international Bacary Sagna has departed the club and joined Portuguese side SLB for an undisclosed fee. Bacary Sagna had only one year left on his contract and it is said that when the club and his agents began talks, they couldn't agree on some major factors and therefore decided to let him go.

Many Arsenal fans would have been disappointed when they heard the news that Sagna was on the verge of signing for Braga, but that disappointment would have been cut short once they heard Micah Richards was having his medical at London Colney. Arséne Wenger had been speaking directly with the player once he realized that his first choice right back could leave the club, smart move from Wenger there. Meanwhile, Arsenal have let Carl Jenkinson go out on loan in order to get some game time, leaving them with only one recognized right back. This could mean yet another defender will join the club.

When speaking to Sky Sports News, Richards seemed delighted with his move to the Emirates:

"I'm very pleased to move to this wonderful club. When I was a young boy I always wanted to play for Arsenal and now the dream has come true. This club is moving forward year by year despite what the critics may say. With the world cup next year, game time for every player is the most important thing and I wasn't getting that at Manchester City with my injuries and other factors. I wish them all the best but now I am focused on my career at Arsenal, now I'm a gooner!

Richards is said to have signed a 4 year contract at the Emirates seeing him earn 78,000 p/w. Rumours have been buzzing around concerning Newcastle's Santon and former Arsenal striker Carlos Vela. Reports suggest that the two will sign for Arsenal by next week. In order for Arsenal to buy Vela all they must do is offer 3.4 million due to a buy back clause on the player. However, with Santon Arsenal may have to pay around 8 million to force Newcastle to accept their bid.
Probably a good deal. Micah is younger than Sagna and is better than him too (imo)
Never used Richards but I'm assuming he's great
