The Gagné Chronicles Episode II: For Club and Country

So a few days after our victory against our 2-1 victory over Metz I am going over film and writing up a report to give to the other coaches about the last match as well as important work for the next match against ASNL. Now I told my guys they can come to me for anything but when I am in the middle of this work I hate being interrupted.



KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

"Yes, who is it I am busy at the moment?"

"Coach its me!!" (Ademilson)

Before he knocked I had a very weird felling that he needed to "Talk"

"Can you come back after an hour I am kind of busy with last weeks match?"

"No!!" (He walks in)

SLAMS FIST ON DESK

"I hate it here in France, I can't adapt!!"

"Really I though you were doing ok? Just keep playing and you will be over it in no time."

"No please bring in another player to help!"

"If you are talking about a Brazilian I can't since we are at the non-EU cap in Ligue 2 and we have a few weeks left."

"I am not happy."

"I know where you are coming from, I had the same issue when I played in America, it takes time but trust me it is worth it in the end."

"Come on coach please let me take a break."

"What?? We are in a very important stretch of the season and you want to go home early?? NO!!"

"I will not drop this!"

"Too bad I'm fining you €35k for the way you are acting, please listen I will try something in the summer."

"uggg, ok boss you win this time, if you don't help me out then I will take this to the press."

"Ok please leave before I decide to drop you to the CFA 2 squad."

My god this is so stupid, why is my newest signing being such a baby?? We have a few weeks to go he should stick it out like a man.

First place. Feels good that the hard work is showing its results. Now we have three more matches to go can we keep the top spot??

With two matches to go in the current Championnat National season second place Paris FC 2000 is looking already to the future. The club is on the verge of being promoted to the FFL for the first time since the 1978/79 season when they were in Ligue 1. This was all before the whole PSG split. The club could become members of Ligue 2 for the first time in club history this upcoming weekend.

There are news reports that Paris FC chairman Pierre Ferracci is open to bringing in a new manager. He was heard saying "the current guy is great but there is one manager out there that would be perfect for us." "It is his first year and he has done a lot for the club." If PFC get promoted they will become a professional squad.

We here at FranceFootball.Fr believe they are talking about Dijon FCO's Marc-Édouard Gagné. The new Dijon boss has been a surprise this year leading his club to the top spot with two matches remaining. If it is him will he take the job or will he staty with his club as they join Ligue 1 next season?

Despite going 0-2-1 Dijon FCo have won the 2013/14 edition of Ligue 2. Before the final match against SM Caen the club had the title wrapped up due to goal difference. In their 15 year history this title is their first ever.

An error from DFCO caused SM Cean midfielder Nicolas Seube to score a fierce shot. With Cean were celebrating a sweep of Dijon it was Otsu who got the last laugh. In the 90th he gave Dijon a goal that would give the club a late come back draw. After the whistle the club celebrated the title with 70 points in the season.

ESTAC Troyes and Havre AC will be joining Dijon in promotion to the next level. All three have recently been members of Ligue 1. Troyes were last part of the 2012/13 season, Havre in the 2008/09 season and Dijon in the 2011/12 season. OGC Nice, Valenciennes FC and En Avant de Guingamp will replace them.

So now that the season is over I have to meet with Oliver about a few things. He is very happy right now.

"If we have the same run we can win it!"

"Can we talk about transfers sir?"
"Yes, who would you like?"
"Ron-Robert Zieler and Will Hughes."
"Why?"
"We need a new gk since Lorient are being stubborn over Lecomte."
"ok you should be receiving somewhere between 5 and 20m, is that ok?"
"Yes sir."
"Well before you leave we have a press conference for you."

"Marc-Édouard how does it feel to win the league?"
"It feels great"
"What will happen next year."
"I can't really say since it is too early but we are staying up."
"There have been rumors that you are leaving Dijon for Paris FC or Strasbourg your old club, can you say anything about that?"
"Absolutely, there rumors are all false, I am staying with this club until they get sick of me."
"Recently new signing Ademilson has tweeted that he is having problems in France and that is why his performances have been dismal lately, what are you doing about it?"
"No comment."
"Can we get an answer please."
"NO, I am out see you all soon."

Ademilson will be a great signing once he reaches his full potential, but my god he's such a crybaby! haha keep it up mate and congrats on winning the league!

Sevilla striker Kévin Gameiro has officially been transferred to Dijon FCO who will be back in Ligue 1 next season. Gameiro who moved to Spain last summer after finding himself on the bench at PSG seems to be very pleased about the move. A few weeks ago he tweeted that he joined the club but many believed it was a joke.


Gameiro was quoted in saying, "This will be a good move for me as I get to play for a dear friend and Dijon who are on the rise." Both Gagné and Gameiro were teammates during their spells with Strasbourg. "Well we were golfing and talking about football,I asked if he wanted to join and told him my plan, he said yes and I thought it was a joke but was very serious, luckily his agent Christope Martin was with us so itm ade the dealing very easy."-Marc-Édouard Gagné

Gameiro made 48 overall appearances last year as well as scored 20 goals in all competitions for Sevilla last year. He joins a very good striker force with Ademilson and Julio Tavares. Who will start between the three? This will be interesting to see how things turn out. Also on this day Dijon finally get Barcelona B AM Javi Espinosa for a deal of €2.4m. Espinosa was signed by Dijon in mid march.

The 2014/15 preseason for DFCO has been announced. The club will be traveling to the United States for two friendlies against Chicago and DC United. Manager Marc-Édouard Gagné was the one who set up the trip so the team can get exposure in the states as well as face his former club. the matches will take place between 7-9 July. Here are the other teams Dijon will face in preseason.

Thanks, I pick the hard teams to get ready for the season. Playing just cupcakes does not help

A few days before we jet off to America things are going great but... Ademilson is back at it again. Other than carrying on about a lack of Brazilians he is now crying over the Gameiro transfer and the first few friendly matches.
So I wanted to see what was going on and here is how it went.

"Boss I am very upset over the last few matches."
"Why is that?"
"Well because I am not getting enough playing time and you signed Gameiro."
"Really? I have split field time with the three of you at 30-30-30 and the other two are fine with that, they know their roles and understand that."
"But I am your super star, you only brought Kevin in because he is your friend."
"No you are not sadly, the fans have lost faith in you due to not scoring in over 10hrs last year and were not even top 5 in kit sales."
"I am not happy, I am staying here."
"No you are joining us and start acting like a teammate to everyone and not a selfish person."
"FUCK YOU"
"That's enough I am sending you to the reserves for now and you are now on the transfer list."

A while later I call an emergency meeting of the staff and the owner about the whole situation and they agree he is not the right fit. I wish Ademilson was not so selfish because he has tons of potential and its sad he rejects help and tutoring.

A during the trip we got a call from his old club Sao Paulo and we said yes to him. As of right now he will be returning to South America. I hope he does well and matures a lot. He is never welcomed back. We were able to get rid of him for 6.25m. Yes that is only a million more than our purchase but hey we have enough to buy some more players.
