Dijon win Trophée des champions
PSG's Trophée des champions streak is over
2/8/2015

On a fine autumn evening in Burkina Faso, Dijon FCO lifted the Trophée des champions to complete a fairy tale journey for the team. In what was Dijon's first ever appearance we got to see a very new side of the club. After this victory many might think a change of guard is occurring currently in France.

(Dijon FCO celebrating as the ref blows the whistle to end the match)

Paris Saint-Germain captain Edinson Cavani got the team off to a flying start as he scored a header from point blank range. The goal occurred after one minute. At this point every Dijon supporter and the team looked so nervous as if this would be a long day. There would be no score until the 31st minute as striker Julio Tavares equalized for Dijon. Things were back at level. It would be level until the 81st minute as Florin Berenguer-Bohrer scored what would be the game winner. As that happened the traveling Dijon fans erupted in cheer.

Dijon would end up winning their first Trophée des champions title thanks to a reinvigorated squad. The biggest impact came from new midfielder Lu Jingjun. The 18 year old would be the key factor to the victory as he was credited with an assist. He would go on to claim the MVP award.

Europa League Group Stage Draw

So today is the big day for us the Europa League draw. We are all excited ad nervious at the same time. Hopefully we get a good draw. For the viewing I ordered a few pizzas and sodas for the guys. UEFA announced that we wouldwith the 4th seeds.
HERE WE GO...

Group E. Not too bad I feel like we could do really well in it. AZ and Fenerbhce will be the two hardest opponents but I feel like if we work hard enough we can easily qualify. Hell if we kick P$G's asses all the time these chumps will be cake.

Summer 2015 Transfers

The transfer window is currently closed and I felt we did a good job adding a few players. I will be giving a little information on each of these players. Thanks to the end of last year the chairman gave me 45m Euro to spend. That was very helpful in getting on of the guys I wanted since I started.

Will Hughes
Derby County
€15M

Finally I was able to get Will. During his time at Derby he was excelent and was a top target for many clubs in England. He joined us due to last year and feels Dijon would be a nice place for his family.

João Cancelo
Sport Lisboa e Benfica
€7.5M

João joins us from Benfica. The 21 year old defender spent the last few year in training with their B squad. He is another player that has been on the radar since I joined Dijon.

Paolo De Ceglie
Juventus

€4M

Paolo joins us from Juve. This defender is quite special and I feel he will be a big time contributor to our squad in the future.

Lu Jingjun
FC Porto
Free

Lu might have been our best captures this year. Signed late last season the 18 year old midfielder has already made a name for himself here at Dijon since his arrival in July. With our victory over PSG he won the mvp award that game and has been on fire ever since. At one point I was going to loan him out but I saw he is too good. At this point in the season he has been starting almost every game.

Mobi Babaloa from Dolphins (NGA) €475k (On Loan)
Adama Kone from ASEC €2.5m (On Loan)
Jhonny Lizarazo from America de Cali €400k (On Loan)

Overall thoughts

The first month of the season was ok. A few good results and a few so so ones but I can't bitch about it. I rather have 3 draws and no loses. The transfer window also closed during this time and I feel this squad could get us a league championship. They are starting to work well together and it really shows. Timo was amazing against Monaco. Hopefully next month is just as great, we start Europa League play.

Table

Great signings, there. We all know Hughes but Cancelo should be a class addition. Lu Jingjun looks like a right coup! Also, that has to be one of the most bizarre looking top 4 (albeit 5 games in)

Overall thoughts

The month of October saw many things with Dijon. First our two matches in the Europa League. I was honestly surprised how well we did in both matches and am proud to be in first place. Just one more win and we advance to the next round. League play went well too. Sadly our 14 game streak ended at the hands of OM but that is fine. The draw against PSG was also great. In other news thanks tot he joker transfer rule we were able to add Kurt Zouma for 10m. Finally after a manager was fired I was approached with a job offer. Did I take it find out next!

Shock appointment for France job
FFF appoint Gagné as manager
1/11/2015

The search for a new manager for the national team is over. Dijon FCO manager Marc-Édouard Gagné has taken the job and will start effective today. This is the first international job for the 32 year old.

Gagné started his managing career back in the summer of 2013 when he took over Dijon. The ex Strasboug star was seen to be a panic hire but it has turned out great. During his time with the club Marc-Édouard has lead them to promotion and are winners of the three major French Cups (all in 2015). Currently he has lead the team to third in the league and first in Group E of the Europa League.

It is unknown if he will be staying with the Ligue 1 side. Chairman Oliver Delcourt said that he will have to evaluate things and see if it can work. He was also heard saying that this hire really hurts everyone in the club and is upset about it. Will Gagné be able to work two management jobs at once?? We will see as France are preparing for Euro 2016 an event that will be played in France. His first international match will be against Portugal on the 17th of November.
I sense great things for Dijon this season :) Bold move by the French Federation (or yourself)
great managing getting called up for the french national team position keep going
