Genie Scout 2009 Bugs + Workarounds

Hello i think that FM Genie Scout is the best program of Scouts for fm2009.

I have this problem. When i load the current save of fm in genie scout appears that:

Another thing, why don´t have currency in euros... Only in pounds

I'm on a large database with a few other countries loaded. Coca-Cola League 2 and above playable. Haven't used any editor for the game. Only third-party program used is Fm Genie Scout.

It used to work perfectly fine for me until the last transfer window when i signed a couple of player then BAMM! The error came up after I tried to load my updated save game.

I'm in the year 2017 too.

My game wont be loaded too..

Ahh damn it. Tried to follow your advice Peppe but still doesn't work even after i retire my manager. To add to the misery, i overwritten my save game so now I lost 11 years of hard work. (Ended in 2019) So Long Exeter! (Brought them to the premier league)

If you set a sale value you need to redo the edited options.

For example i search for a ST, but i want to search all players under sale value 15M, then i need to set the sale value to 15M and i have to set the ST again. shouldn't he remember that?

sale value's aren't always correct, also the minimal release fee.

Hello everyone.

I use the Genie fantastic tool to export the data from my team to an excel file. I save a file in txt and then open in excel.

I made a macro to make this things easier.

But... I noticed that, after season 1, the values exported are always the same, although in the game and in the genie the values have changed.

There is some fix?

Mine in 2034, got the same "wanted to read 4 bytes, could only read 3" error. It worked well for the game in 2030. The saved file is about 90 mb, not compressed.

This is my saved game (I used WinRAR to compress it). My fm2009 was originally 9.1.0 and updated to 9.3.0..

My genie scout was working fine even after i upgraded to the new 9.3.0 patch for quite awhile. Then, all of a sudden, when i was going into my new season in year 2014 and was going to scout for young talents, the loading bar got stuck at 'loading people' in fact it actually kind of hanged, and after about one or two min the error message pops up.

Data File Seems To Be Corrupt, Wanted To Read 4 Bytes, Could Only Read 3 Bytes.

After quite a few years of experience in using the Genie scout, i knew that this usually occurs when the saved game was compressed. But i've checked, its not, i even double confirm by checking it and unchecking, saved the game again. It still doesn't work.

Would really appreciate any help if possible.

mouthuk : Lang_db.dat file is missing or cannot be accessed. Is this because I'm using Steam?

For 9.2.0 I just downloaded it from someone on a forum and sourced it to the new location and it worked a charm. Now i need to find a compatible version for 9.3.0.

Could someone please up it for me? At the moment I have to manually select English database during every single search. Very painful.

I've the exact same problem... any help?
