Genie Scout 2009 Bugs + Workarounds

Please help. I get a message stating 'invalid Zstream operation'...it was working fine before?

Hello everyone.
I use Genie Scout XE V1.00
and when i'm going to load a game in the scout the message "Unknown database version: 1242." pops up and I can't use it.

can anyone tell me how to solve this ?

That's the error message I get.

I started having that problem when i reinstalled the game and didn't update to 9.3
But I still wanted my savegames, so i changed the 'required version' in the updates that i had been playing from 9.3 or 9.1 to 9.0 ... than the problem started...

i just had to install patch 9.3 and rechange them back to 9.3: problem solved...

How do i search by Division?

Ok, obviously the serial number is different (D. Version remains 1245 though) in each but I have the same problem.

I used the patch 9.2 and then 9.3.

The problem occurred in mid 2014.

I tried saving in different files and even resigning as it was suggested in the previous genie scout version...but still doesn't work.
Curiously, the old ones work fine...but they're like 2 or 3 seasons apart.

My Genie Scout crashed too. I got the same problem as Bbbyron. The bar stops halfway when loading people. I was in 2014.

Data file seems to be corrupt. Wanted to read 4 bytes, could only read 3 bytes.

I'm sure that i have unticked the "compressing save gamed", definetely.

Genie Scout is a wonderful tool for fmfans. I'd like to pay my regards to Eugene. This is a outstanding job.

And I'd like to know if Ingame FMScout uses the same criteria when evaluating a player, a coach etc as Genie Scout. Thanks.

Hi. My Genie Scout has been working alright all along (I am currently in my 2024-25 pre-season) until recently, I encountered a problem. I downloaded FM Modifier 2008 and there was an error warning saying "Access violation at address [a series of numbers] 'FMModifier.exe'. Read of address 00000000"

Then when I deleted the program and tried to run GenieScout. When I clicked on "Load Last Saved Game" as I will always do, the same error popped out, this time instead of saying "FMModifier.exe" blah blah blah, it says:

"Access violation at address 00660DAB in module 'FMGenieScout.exe'. Read of address 00000000."

I deleted the .exe file and unzipped the zipped file and tried all over again, but the same error occured.

On top of that, I have also noticed that after I had closed the program, there was another file (intially this file didn't exist) among the other unzipped files (i.e. Columns, Filters, History Points, Languages, Ratings, and of course FMGenieScout.exe) named:
db_THeader_EFileCorruptError.dat

When I opened it using .txt, the contents are:

Hi i use FM Genie Scout 2009 to take screenshots of my players for my website. I use this as it shows the hidden stats. Well today i went to do my monthly screenshot shots and it wont work. is there a reason for this please. I did try downloading it again and still had the same problem.

I sow that there are other people with the same problem but i dont understand is there a way to avoid that problem

the genie scout just stops working after a game has been played a long time. its a bug genie hasnt fixed so there is nothing you can do about it but to play without using the genie scout.

try the immuner scout tool.
