Hello and welcome to my first story on Football Manager 2014 where I will be looking to take Merthyr Town from the Southern league D1 south and west (division 8) all the way up to the Barclays Premier League and try to make them one of the best teams in the World. One thing is for a sure, it's going to be a long journey.

Merthyr Town appoint Peterson

Merthyr Town F.C. have announced that they have appointed unknown manager Dennis Peterson as new manager following the sacking of Gary Shephard earlier this week. This will be Peterson's first venture into football management and he is eager to prove to everyone that he has got what it takes. The 37-year-old is reported to be on a 1-year contract worth £500 per week.

"It is an amazing opportunity for me and I am confident that my new squad will go on to do great things" said Peterson who will begin his new job on the 9th of July. Merthyr Town captain Steve Williams stated that he is looking forward to be playing under Dennis and believes that his style of managing suits the philosophy here at Merthyr.

Nice start, good luck :)
