Nice results and I like the story's individuality

Qatar Sports Club
January 2014

Incoming Transfers

These players all joined on January 1.

Matches

Qatar Stars Cup Semi Final First Leg
Al-Sailiya 1 - 2 Qatar Sports Club

Al-Rayyan 3 - 0 Qatar Sports Club
Incredibly wasteful shooting doomed us, as Al-Rayyan was clinical with their limited chances.

Qatar Stars Cup Semi Final Second Leg
Qatar Sports Club 2 - 0 Al-Sailiya
Al-Sailiya is no match for us as we expand on our lead to win 4-1 on aggregate and advance to the final!

Al-Arabi 1 - 1 Qatar Sports Club
It looked like we would win the game on Mohammed Razak's free kick goal, but Waleed Hamza broke through and lobbed the keeper for the equalizer.

Qatar Sports Club 5 - 0 Al-Ahli
For an important derby game, Al-Ahli seemed very unprepared, and after going down 3-0, demoralized. They let in two goals late where their keeper and a defender had a miscommunication over a long ball, leaving our striker to pick it up and score an easy goal, then an own goal off a corner kick.

Emir Cup Quarterfinal
Al-Rayyan 0 - 2 Qatar Sports Club

Al-Sadd 2 - 2 Qatar Sports Club
I've never seen the AI use this formation before. It's a big result, considering it's at THE team in Qatari and Arabic football, and the current league leaders.

Daniel Goumou to Qatar Sports Club

http://media.townhall.com/Townhall/reu/d/2012%5C137%5C2012-05-16T184941Z_01_DOH14_RTRIDSP_0_QATAR.jpg
On transfer deadline day, Qatar Sports Club have finally completed the purchase of Al-Rayyan midfielder Daniel Goumou, who is touted as one of Qatar's future stars. The deal is reportedly 2 million pounds, and Nathan Limior was quoted as saying, "I've wanted to complete this deal for a while, great Qatari players are at a premium, and Goumou impressed me when he played for me for the national team. I'd like him at my club, too, and I'm finally glad to have that taken care of."

Qatar Sports Club 4 - 4 Lekhwiya
This was a slugfest and a comedy of errors all in one, we should have come away with this one but every time we pulled ahead Lekhwiya would score again to even it up, with their late equalizer being a punch in the teeth.

Table

5th place, not bad, but we need to turn draws into wins.
What a win versus Al-Ahli, but it seems like a topsy turvy month overall.

Qatar Stars Cup Final First Leg
Qatar Sports Club 2 - 3 Lekhwiya
We blew a 2-1 halftime lead. The next leg is 2 months away so we'll have plenty of time to think about it.

Al-Wakrah 4 - 5 Qatar Sports Club
Mehmed Bazdarevic had some words for me after the match, saying that our late winner was undeserved, but they were lucky to even be in this match.

Qatar Sports Club 1 - 0 Umm-Salal
The score is antonymic of the last game, but still Mohammad Razak comes through huge in his return from injury to score the game winner and keep things rolling in the league.

Al-Khor 0 - 2 Qatar Sports Club

Qatar Sports Club 1 - 0 Al-Sailiya
Another game where we dominated but found it difficult to put the ball in goal. Thankfully we did just the bare minimum, but we can't keep up like this.

Table

We're on a roll. I'm not sure if we can win the league, but if we keep up at this rate, we'll be playing in the AFC Champions League next season. In addition, rumors are Qatar Sports Club are lining up a huge free transfer for next season. A Brazilian football legend coming to Qatar? I'm hoping it can get done by the next club update!
A better month, can't wait to see this Brazilian :D
You're in good form! keep it like this!

Qatar SC Signs Ze Roberto

Qatar Sports Club have signed Brazilian footballer Ze Roberto. However, they are currently the laughingstock of the football community at the moment, as rumors have abounded that they signed the wrong one, the one that played for Figuirense, not the one who played for Gremio. Still, the "other" Ze Roberto doesn't seem to be that bad of a player, although not the legendary status of the one we wanted.

Youth Intake Standouts

I am scouting other Qatari teams' intakes too, so I can pluck their best players from them, since good homegrown players are a great commodity.

Muaither 1 - 5 Qatar Sports Club
It was Hassan Hormat Allah's first game as Muaither manager, and it couldn't have gotten much worse for him, as Muaither were bereft of confidence, and he'll have a big task ahead of him to get the team back into form.

Diego Maradona to Manage Al-Jaish

Al-Jaish have hired legendary player Diego Maradona to manage their team. He's managed clubs before, but let's not talk about that, surely he has a legendary mind.

Qatar Sports Club 2 - 0 Al-Gharrafa
Baky Kone had a great performance, scoring a goal when he raced down the right touchline, then cut in and shot and scored at a tight angle. He also made a great interception and had a one on one with the keeper, but missed.

Qatar Sports Club 3 - 0 Al-Arabi
Mohammed Razak took over the game, finding himself in the right place on setpieces to score a goal at the end of the first half and at the beginning of the second.

Emir Cup Semifinal
Qatar Sports Club 1 - 0 Al-Sadd after extra time
It was Ze Roberto's corner kick that Georges Koussy put in the net in the stoppage time of the first half of extra time to finally win it for Qatar Sports Club.

Al-Jaish 1 - 3 Qatar Sports Club

Raiding Qatar's Youth

Table

A perfect month after a slightly embarrassing start! We still need Al-Sadd to trip up, but if we keep up our form we should be in for the league title!

Match Squad

Fabio Cesar had to be removed due to injury. Marcone was my first choice as a replacement callup but he wasn't sure if he wanted to accept a callup since he wasn't first choice for the original 23, so I passed him by. I don't want anyone who doesn't want to be on the team.

Matches

Qatar 2 - 0 Malaysia
Closing in on Al-Sadd! A couple of big names being mentioned in the update, albeit one of them not really being a legend ;)

Limior Extends Contract With Club

Qatar Sports Club are pleased to announce a 2 year extension to the current contract, and Nathan Limior will now earn 10,000 pounds a week.

Al-Kharatiyath 2 - 1 Qatar Sports Club
Undone by an own goal and an inability to put the ball on target.

Qatar Sports Club 4 - 1 Al-Rayyan
Possession was the only thing even in this rebound blowout over Al-Rayyan.

Qatar Stars Cup Final Second Leg
Lekhwiya 2 - 2 Qatar Sports Club
We just didn't have enough to overcome Lekhwiya on this day, even though we constantly peppered their goal.

Al-Ahli 0 - 2 Qatar Sports Club
With the win, Qatar SC have qualified for the AFC Champions League!

Emir Cup Final
Qatar Sports Club 2 - 2 Al-Arabi
Al-Arabi wins 6 - 5 on penalties
Pardon my French, but I fucking hate shootouts.

Anyway, while that was going on, Al-Sadd are quite sadd as they have lost their 2 games in hand, meaning if we can beat them, we're the champions of the league. And if you can only win one thing, it may as well be the league.

Qatar Sports Club 0 - 1 Al-Sadd
And, of course, lose the match that would give us the win in the league.

Lekhwiya 2 - 1 Qatar Sports Club
At least it wouldn't have mattered.

Table

Second in everything. Honestly, in retrospect, it was a much better season than I had anticipated, but when you are so close to winning trophies, and lose out on them all, it's very frustrating. We did qualify for the AFC Champions League, so that's still good.
Congrats on qualifying for the AFC Champs League!
Congrats for the second place! and you had a lot of bad luck in the cup final!
Very interesting story, mate, congrats' for such a great season and good luck in AFC Champions League! :)

Preseason 2014

I forgot to tell my assistant to make the friendlies, so I am having to make a friendly schedule on the fly. Still, I think it's pretty good.

Early Friendlies

Marcos Senna to Qatar SC

http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/01001/marcos_senna_1001607c.jpg
Qatar SC has bought veteran midfielder Marcos Senna from the New York Cosmos for 25K pounds. Manager Nathan Limior believes he still has something left in the tank, but he says the major goal of the purchase is to have him in an informal coach role, tutoring younger players and helping develop them.

It was a good preseason overall, some ups and downs, but I feel very prepared for the upcoming season.

Qatar National Team
Friendly

It was nice to manage an international game for once after several months without a game. I had a squad sheet listed, but a few names had to be crossed out and replaced due to injury.

Matches

Bangladesh 1 - 1 Qatar
How have you defeated Bayern?! Congrats for that win mate!
Bayern hadn't got fit yet and had to come all the way to Qatar in the middle of the summer.
