September 2014

Qatar Sports Club 0 - 1 Al-Arabi
Al-Arabi absolutely thieved three points from us. They deserved none, one max, but they got all three and it's a travesty.

Al-Sadd 1 - 2 Qatar Sports Club

Al-Kharatiyath 1 - 1 Qatar Sports Club
This should have been a win for Qatar SC, but Al-Kharatiyath's goalkeeper, Al-Abunora, scored a comical goal when outfield players from both teams misplayed his long ball, and Amine Lacomte failed to field the ball. Only Olberdam's goal saved it from being a loss.

Table

Not the end of the world, but it sucks when you know you have so much quality but only have 4 out of 9 points to show for it.
No the best start of the season mate! Hope you'll get better next month!
Not the best start, but you've only played three games, so keep your head up :)
Not a very good start, but it's only the beggining, you have time to get better results and to reach the first position.

Qatar Stars Cup Quarterfinal First Leg

Qatar Sports Club 3 - 1 Al-Wakrah

Qatar Sports Club 3 - 0 Al-Rayyan
With Baky Kone's injury, I decided to pull the strikers inward as AMCs once again, which allowed us to have a better handle on possession, but still deadly as all three goals were scored at range.

Qatar Stars Cup Quarterfinal Second Leg

Al-Wakrah 1 - 3 Qatar Sports Club

And, how convenient, as we play them again in league play a few days after:

Al-Wakrah 1 - 1 Qatar Sports Club

Qatar Sports Club 2 - 0 Lekhwiya

Al-Markhiya 0 - 3 Qatar Sports Club
Georges Koussy was crucial today, scoring 2 goals off corner kicks.

Table

A good month for us, only 2 missed points, as we've clawed to 4th place and only 2 points out of first.

Some good results there Eliminator, Think Qatar may already be prepared
Stunning results with SC, at the rate you're keeping clean sheets it can only be a matter of time before you crack on up the league. And an away win with the NT to put the icing on the cake, very nice :)

It all seems to be clicking at the moment, by the time 2022 comes around you will be more than ready imo!

Anas Mubarak Out With Back Strain

Defensive midfielder Anas Mubarak will miss 4-5 weeks with a back strain suffered in training. Marcos Senaa will be the frontrunner to take his spot on the pitch.

Qatar Sports Club 3 - 0 Umm-Salal

Qatar Sports Club 2 - 0 Al-Khor

Table

Just as we're rolling, we have to take a long break for international reasons.

Maldives 2 - 1 Qatar

Iran 1 - 0 Qatar

Qatar 3 - 0 Oman

Manager's Comments

Being shorthanded due to injuries isn't ideal, but I think we had a good performance, playing Iran hard and convincingly spanking Oman.
Great results especially at SC, congrats' and I want you to be on the 1st position as soon as possible. :)

WAFF Championship and Gulf Cup

Match Squad

WAFF Championship Group Stage

Qatar 4 - 3 Iraq
Two own goals, a red card for Qatar, two Qatar goals after the red card, an Iraqi stoppage time equalizer, and a Qatari stoppage time gamewinner. You can't say this one wasn't eventful.

Qatar 0 - 1 Kuwait

Qatar 3 - 0 Bahrain
Despite the victory, we finish 2nd to Bahrain on goal differential and fail to advance.

Gulf Cup of Nations Group Stage

Qatar 2 - 0 Bahrain

Sebastian Soria is out a month and we can't call up a replacement, which is a huge blow.

In good news, though, Saad Sattam al-Shammari is the new all-time caps leader for Qatar, as the game against Bahrain was his 95th cap.

Qatar 1 - 2 Saudi Arabia

Qatar 2 - 0 Oman
With 6 points, we've assured qualification for the knockout stages!

Gulf Cup Semifinal

Qatar 1 - 3 Kuwait after extra time
Ouch, unlucky going out in the semi's, but a good performance from your side!
Some good results mate, but you've been unlucky with Kuwait.
A place in the first 4 of any competition it's a very good performance. :)

Emir Cup First Round

Al-Jaish 2 - 1 Qatar Sports Club

Qatar Stars Cup Semi Final

First Leg: Al-Gharrafa 3 - 1 Qatar Sports Club
Our roster was demolished by international callups and we couldn't get a reschedule.

Qatar SC Signs Samuel Eto'o

Reeling after a couple of losses, Qatar SC have decided what they need is Samuel Eto'o. Six months out of the game after his Chelsea contract expired, his salary demands plummeted and Qatar SC has finally made the deal happen. Not only is Eto'o playing for Qatar SC, he will also serve as the reserves manager.

Second Leg: Qatar Sports Club 1 - 0 Al-Gharrafa
We won the second leg, but one goal isn't enough to overturn a two goal deficit.

Qatar National Team
Asian Cup

Group Stage

Qatar 1 - 2 Iraq

Qatar 0 - 0 Iran

Qatar 0 - 1 Saudi Arabia

We finished last in our group and didn't advance, which is a huge disappointment to me.
