NAPOLI HIRE SWAINE AS MANAGER

Napoli this evening has appointed 25-year-old Joe Swaine as their new manager. The appointment became official after days of speculation and Swaine seemed to be delighted with the job. In his first press conference he told us “I’m very happy with the direction the club is going in. Everyone at the club wants to be the best than can be, nobody more so than me. He was also asked about the speculation concerning Marek Hamsik, who is recent days was set to be leaving the club. Swaine responded saying “Marek is a fantastic player and we will do everything we can to keep hold of him at the club”.

  • Napoli Perotti Bid Accepted

Napoli tonight have confirmed that Sevilla have accepted a bid in the region of 10 million for Diego Perotti.

Perotti, 24, has been at Sevilla since 2008 and is currently in talks with the Serie A side. Napoli will face competition for the young Argentine though as another bid has been accepted from AS Monaco.

    Perotti signs for Napoli

Sky sports, this evening, can confirm that Napoli have completed the signing of Diego Perotti from Sevilla for a fee reported to be £10 million.

Perotti was in talks with AS Monaco but decided to go to the italian club due to personal terms. Antonio Candreva was also another target for Swaine but it seems unlikely that he will make the signing this summer.

Swaine, who was recently appointed as Napoli manager, has around £24 million to spend and is looking to bolster his midfield and defensive options.
    Good Luck

Sky sports can tonight confirm that Napoli are in talks to sign Roberto Pereyra and Michael Essien. Udinese have accepted a deal worth £14.25 million and the young argentine is currently in talks with the club.

Michael Essien is the other player look set for Serie A as Napoli have approached Chelsea in a season long loan deal. Essien is currently loan listed and should shortly become a Napoli player.

If the two signings go ahead then they will be the second and third signings this summer for Swaine who recently purchased Diego Perotti for Sevilla for £10 million.

Thanks, I will search into him. Also, just wondering if you know the codings for the match day symbols to use as banners in my match reports as I would like to do a pre-season review and the season is approaching quickly.

    PRE SEASON REVIEW

Overall, a good pre season. Swaine and the team were able to take a lot of positives out of the 5 fixtures they played. They began pre season with a fixture against Philadelphia. Swaine rotated the squad bringing in some new faces into the team. Unfortunately the squad rotation cost them as they lost 1-0. A good performance but the chances just wouldn't go in.

We then played against Southampton, and then they came up against Alarcon in a pre season you tournament organised by Hull football club. So we were into the final but we unfortunately lost 5-3 in a thrilling final against hull themselves.

The final game of pre season was against Liverpool at Anfield. A perfect way to end pre season in swaines eyes and a perfect challenge before the season opener 4 days later against Inter. The game was lively and Napoli dominated. Right from the off, Napoli were on top a star performance for Dries Mertens was the highlight for Napoli as they came out 5-1 winners. Swaine was delighted as was the whole squad who can now take this win into the season opener in 4 days.

so overall a positive pre season topped off by the win at Anfield. The players seem in good shape and the season ahead looks exciting as we wait for kick off to the start of Serie A.

    Pereyra Deal Falls Through

Sky sources tonight can confirm that the deal set to take Roberto Pereyra from Udinese to Napoli has fallen through due to player disagreements in the part echange.

Napoli had offered Udinese £7 million plus future monthly installments and Goran Pandev for the young argentine but Pandev was unable to agree on personal terms. The nes comes as a dissapointment to Swaine as he had strong hopes of signing the argentine and he may now have to settle for a deal in January if the club can pay the £14 million price tag in full without having to add players in exchange.

On the positive side Napoli are set to sign Michael Essien from Chelsea on a season long loan deal and they are currently in talks with Marseille for young central defender Lucas Mendes.

There is no current news about the departure of Marek Hamsik but a deal may still yet happen with a few weeks left in the transfer window.
