A great start but I agree on increasing the release clause of Griezmann! He is a Football Manager legend in my opinion so well worth keeping.

FC Vaslui have signed R. Sociedad's Spanish central defender Jon Gaztañaga for a fee of €240K. The youngster had been on the transfer list at Anoeta and the club felt it was time to allow the 22-year old central defender to move on.

Born on 28 June 1991 in Andoain, Gipuzkoa, Gaztañaga was a product of Real Sociedad's youth system. He made his senior debuts with the B-team, spending several seasons in Segunda División B with the side and also achieving promotion from Tercera División in 2010.

Gaztañaga was picked by the Spanish under-17 team for the 2008 UEFA European Football Championship. He started as a stopper in the final against France, which ended with a 4–0 triumph.

He was selected by the under-18 team for the unofficial 2009 Copa del Atlántico, which his country won.

"We signed him for a good fee and Gaztañaga will help us for sure. He's a good player for the Romanian league!" declared FC Vaslui's boss Ilie Dumitrescu.

"I couldn't make myself feel good at the first team and i'm happy because mr. Lasarte let me leave. FC Vaslui is a respectable club from Eastern Europe, i'm still an youngster and if i will play well i'm sure i can move in a better league!" said Gaztañaga.

Sociedad didn't said anything about any buying deal, so the fans are concerned because Lasarte doesn't look like he wants to spend money this summer.

The former Lasarte's team and his favourite club Deportivo la Coruña are rumoured to be interested to loan Sociedad's Elustondo. More news to be provided soon.

Sociedad signed AIK's youngster Alexander Milosevic

http://www.aikfotboll.se/Images/Uploads/Herrar%20-%20Matcher%202011/db1bc99f63bb/657.jpg

Sociedad signed the Swedish 21 years old central defender Alexandar Milosevic from AIK for a fee of €1.2M. That's the first move since Martín Lasarte's takeover of the club from San Sebastian. He signed a deal until June 2015 for two years of contract.

Alexander Sjöström Miloševi?, born 30 January 1992, is a Swedish footballer who plays for AIK as a centre back. He previously played for Swedish club Vasalunds IF. He is also part of the current Sweden U21 squad.

Miloševi? began his career playing for Rissne IF and later transferred to Vasalunds IF. Operating as a striker till the age of 17, at Vasalund he first switched position to the central midfield and was then persuaded to move back to the central defense where he flourished. During the 2010 season he scored five times for Vasalunds IF, one from a penalty kick.

On the first of February 2011 he signed a four-year contract with his boyhood favourites AIK after a long and drawn out process that included training with AIK rivals Djurgårdens IF. He has also trained with Scottish club Celtic and Serie A club Fiorentina.

When AIK defender Per Karlsson was injured during pre-season training, Miloševi? was selected to play from start in the first home game of the 2011 season against Mjällby. AIK won the match and Miloševi? received a lot of attention, not only for being named man of the match, but also for receiving a martial arts inspired kick to the head from Mjällbys Peter Gitselov. During a home game against Malmö FF on 12 June, he provided his first assist for the club.

Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Sunderland all have scouts keeping a very close eye on the young defender. AIK's director of sports Jens Anderson admitted: "Several clubs from England are following him." Serbian club FK Partizan and several Dutch clubs, including Ajax have also shown an interest. Bundesliga club Werder Bremen made an official bid for 600,000 euros, a bid that AIK turned down. His agent says that it would be good if the young player stayed with AIK for at least a year before moving on to a bigger club, but adds that if a good deal is offered, it is hard to turn it down.

He made his first goal in a home draw against GIF Sundsvall on 22 April 2012. The shot was a curve ball from 45 metres away.

"Every coach wants a player like Alexander, capable both to make an impact at the present time and in the future. I'm delighted to have him at Sociedad and i'm sure he won't dissapoint! It's my first signing since coming here and i'm sure that he will become a great central defender in the future." passionately declared Martín Lasarte.

"I needed a new chapter in my career and a club like Real Sociedad is a great way to create one. Now, all i have to do is to play my best football and to help my team climbing up in La Liga and qualify to the UEFA Champions League!" said the new Sociedad's player.

So, after selling two central defenders, Lasarte decided to buy a youngster for the replace, signing who delighted the fans.

Gorka Elustondo leaves Sociedad for a loan

Betis signed the 26 years old defensive midfielder Gorka Elstulondo for a two seasons loan, a full sallary payed loan. Elustondo was considered a not longer needed player at Anoeta but the Real Sociedad's board considered he doesn't need to be sold for a permanent contract.

Elustondo began his career at Beasain in 2003. He joined Sociedad in 2004 and managed to score 6 goals in a total number of 106 appearances. Estulondo won in 2006 the UEFA Under 19 Championship with Spain's national team.

"It's a though competition here and Gorka understood that. I wish him two great years at Betis and i want him to come back here at 28 years old with fresh forces!" declared Martín Lasarte.

Real Sociedad B are also involved in some youngsters loans stories for giving the players experience.

Ansotegi infected with a virus, the new signing Milosevic set to start with Schalke

http://www.insidespanishfootball.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/Ion-Ansotegi.jpg

Having Mikel González injured for a long period, Martín Lasarte was forced to start the friendlies with Ion Ansotegi as a central defender next to Inigo Martínez. Now, the things are starting to get complicated with the situation: with only three registered central defenders in the squad excluding the injured González, Ion Ansotegi was infected with a virus and will be out for two weeks, missing the Schalke clash. That would be a perfect chance for Alexander Milosevic to prove he is a good central defender.

"I feel very bad for Ansotegi but i'm happy for me. If the boss will start with me in the first squad against Schalke i will do everything possible to please him. That's my chance to prove what i am capable of!" declared Milosevic.

Ansotegi could leave after González's full recovery

Being the first option while González is injured, the situation can change for the 31 years old Ansotegi after González is fully recovered, considering the Milosevic's buying. So, we can expect Ansotegi to leave this winter, but, until that time, it will remain simply a rumour.

Ansotegi signed with Sociedad in 2003, managing to score 9 goals in 169 appearances for the San Sebastian team.
Shame about the injuries/illnesses but it's a good chance to see Milosevic in action as you said :) Hopefully he settles alongside Martinez

Schalke, a too big rival for unexperimented Sociedad

After being eliminated from the UEFA Champions League by Schalke 04, Lasarte's Real Sociedad has to play now into the UEFA Europa League group stage. All of the Sociedad's players looked delighted for the Play-Off participation, so Lasarte had an easy job to do in motivating his team after the two loses against Schalke.

"Everyone knows who Schalke is. We're glad to participate in UEFA Europa League and i'm sure we'll make a good job there. We had to reschedule the Liga BBVA clash against Getafe conflicting with the Play-Off, but a minus match gives us an advantage against our rivals. I can't wait to see who will be our rivals in UEFA Europa League!" declared Lasarte.

El Mundo Deportivo will provide the Spanish teams involved into the UEFA Europa League schedule draws for the group stage!
Nice signings, and nice updates. Disappointing to go out the CL but with Schalke it's inevitable :/
Europa League it is! Hopefully you do well there. Shame to draw against Elche but a great win v Atletico

Shock of the deadline day! Sociedad's board allowed Carlos Vela to leave at Arsenal!

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2008/07/16/article-0-01F936A800000578-49_468x306.jpg

With crazy moves set to be made, no one expected that: Arsenal bought the 24 years old striker Carlos Vela in the last moment from Real Sociedad for a fee of €4.3M. He signed a contract until first of July 2018 and he looked very happy to be back at Emirates.

Vela isn't at his first try at London, after coming from Chivas in 2005. Necessary to say, he was more loaned than playing for Arsenal, but, now, at Sociedad he looked like founding his career's way.

Carlos Alberto Vela Garrido, born 1 March 1989, started his career at Mexican club C.D. Guadalajara and caught the eye of various European clubs after finishing as the top scorer at the 2005 FIFA U-17 World Championship, finally joining Premier League club Arsenal that year. After joining Arsenal he had loan spells at Spanish clubs Salamanca and Osasuna, as well as fellow English club West Bromwich Albion, finally joining Real Sociedad on loan, then permanently on 10 August 2012.

Vela made his debut with the senior national team in 2007 in a friendly match against Brazil, and scored his first goal for Mexico in a friendly against Guatemala. He participated in Mexico's CONCACAF Gold Cup victory in 2009, and participated in the 2010 FIFA World Cup held in South Africa. His last participation with the national team came on 29 March 2011 in a match against Venezuela, with Vela rejecting all subsequent call-ups to tournaments such as the 2011 Gold Cup, 2011 Copa América, 2012 Summer Olympics, 2013 Confederations Cup and 2014 World Cup, citing various reasons for his refusals.

Aside from his Mexican nationality, Vela also holds a Spanish passport.

"I'm glad to be back at Emirates! I think i proved what i can at Sociedad and i want to thank this club and especially the board for letting me go out!" declared Vela.

"Vela could attract a better fee than that. I'm not happy about how the board dealed with this. I needed to be asked about his transfer, but what i have to do now? I pray to find a replacement in the last... 2 hours of market. Vela could be a good player for the season but that's the life sometimes..." cautiously declared Lasarte.
