Neil Lennon has signed a new one year rolling contract with Celtic and has already started business in the transfer market with five players leaving Celtic Park

Premiership new boys Hull City have signed playmaker Kris Commons for a fee of £1.4 million from Celtic. Commons put pen to paper on a three year deal with Hull after a very successful period at Celtic.

Also moving to the Premiership is Irish striker Anthony Stokes as he signed for Fulham for a fee of around £1.2 million. Stokes, a fan favourite now leaves the club after 41 goals in 101 games with his boyhood club. Striker Mo Bangura has signed for Crystal Palace after a very unsuccessful period in Glasgow that saw him go on loan twice after first team chances were limited.

Georgios Samaras has joined Ligue 1 team Lille, The Greek international has had a mixed time at Celtic after a poor start to his Celtic career. However, last season Samaras scored 5 goals in the clubs Champions League campaign. Beram Kayal has joined Championship side Nottingham Forrest for just under £1 million. Kayal had a great first season at Celtic but after a bad injury he could not rejuvenate his good form for the Hoops.

Celtic Confirm New Faces

Celtic have completed the signings of four new players and no more business will be done during this window.
Celtic today announced the signing of striker Danny Ings, defender Alex Pearce and midfielders Jem Karacan and Joshua King. Celtic firstly announced that Karacan had signed a four year deal with the club following a £4.4 million move from Championship side Reading. Alex Pearce also moved from Reading for £4.2 million and said the move was a dream come true. Celtic continued their raid of the Championship signing Dnny Ings from Burnley for £4.1 million and Blackburn midfielder Joshua King for £5 million.

Lennon claimed the team are not under anymore pressure to perform well despite spending over £17 million on his new signings. Celtic fans gathered at Celtic Park to welcome the new Bhoys to the club. Celtic also qualified for the Champions League following a 16-1, 8-2 and 5-2 thrashing of EB/Strymur, Zeljeznicar and Viktoria Plen respectively.

Group Of Death?

Neil Lennon's Celtic have been handed a very tough group in this years Champions League. Celtic entered the draw knowing they would face Europe's elite as they were in pot 4. The Scottish champions are in group D alongside current holders and German champions Bayern, Spanish giants Atletico and Greek side Olympiakos. Celtic Park will once again host the best players in the world but manager, Lennon said, "We fear no one who come to Celtic Park, we have beaten great teams here such as Barca last year. Of course we are underdogs in the group but my players know we have what it takes to beat the big teams, Celtic Park has an atmosphere that every player loves to play in, especially on a European night"

Celtic will kick off their campaign against Atletico at Celtic Park

Neil Lennon looked a relaxed figure during his pre-match interview before Celtic take on Atletico on matchday 1 of this years Champions League. Here is some on Lennon's interview below:

Q. Do you feel it is possible for your team to reach the last 16 or is the Europa League the goal
A. Obviously we are underdogs in the group but we were underdog last year as well and qualified so anything is possible. The target is still to be in Europe after New Year.

Q. Will your team adopt a more defensive style of play or will you continue with the team that has done well in qualifying.
A. You will see when the team is announced tomorrow. There will be a tactical change between playing Aberdeen and Atletico. To get through this group we must get points from our home games and hope for the best away from home.
Celtic have started the season very well.
Wow some excellent results there especially the 16-0 thrashing EB/Streymur
