MONTREAL- The 2016 preseason is finally over for the club as they return from Atlanta, Georgia. During this time they faced four clubs other than the scrimmages against the reserves and the U23's. The team also finalized the roster for opening day and revealed the new uniforms for 2016/17.

The first two matches were with our reserves and U23's. In both matches the main team came out with 3-0 victories and looked good under the new system. New signing David Goodwille scored against the reserves.

Next up the team had a quick flight over to Iceland where they played FH. On a snowy Icelandic afternoon the Impact showed that they can play in any climate. Fourth year winger Blake Smith was the hero as he scored the two goals in the match.

Five days later the team returned home for two matches. The first was against PDL side Vermont Voltage and the second was against Brazilian side Internacional. L'Impact won both matches with scores of 2-1 and 3-1. The victory against Internacional was big for Marco Di Vaio as he scored two goals. They would be his first two goals of the preseason.

Finally the club traveled to Atlanta to face NASL side Atlanta Silverbacks. The score was 3-1 in favor of the away team. Philippe Davies was the man of the match as he scored two goals. Darren Mattocks was the other scorer.

The 2016 MLS Season will be the leagues 20th anniversary. Montreal will kick off their 5th season in MLS on February 27th at Stade Saputo in Montreal. This will be Korrigan's first match in charge of us.

MONTREAL- D.C. United's match against Montreal was a good one to kick off the 2016 MLS season. On this cold Canadian evening 16,710 witnessed the Impact get their first victory of the season.

Their winner came through Gabriel Sciucatti as he seized on Nana Attakora's blunder to score a powerful effort from right outside the box. United's Bobby Boswell almost cost D.C. another goal with a lack on concentration.

This was new head coach Mike Korrigan's first match in MLS with Montreal. After the game he had this to say."ow what a first game for me I am very excited about this team and can'tr wait to see what is next."

Montreal was also involved in the 2016 Canadian Championship draw. Last year NASL side FC Edmonton surprised everyone by winning the competition and are looking to repeat. They will be facing Vancouver on April 20th and 27th. Winner will face either Toronto or Edmonton in the final.
Nice win vs. Internacional, normally a tough side.
Nice kits must have been odd for you beating DC haha
