Pre-match Press Conference
Journalist: "Good evening, Mr. Wenger. We journalists have plenty of questions to ask. First of all, who do you intend to play tomorrow? And what will your playing style be?"
Arsène Wenger: "Good evening. Tomorrow, since we are favorites, we’ll try to play an attacking style of football, controlling the ball in the middle of the field, whilst also being responsible at the back. The back four will be Sagna, Kosielny, Balanta, and Monreal. As for midfield, Ramsey and Arteta will start. Wilshere will be playing in his preferred position, with Özil on the right wing, and Cazorla on the left. Podolski isn’t fully fit, so Giroud will start."
Journalist: “It is rumored that Nicklas Bendtner will leave the club before the transfer window shuts. Is that true?
Arsène Wenger: “Yeah, we have been trying to find him a new club, and there’s a lot of interest from clubs. The reason we’re letting him leave is that we’ve got two strikers, that is Podolski and Giroud, and another backup, which is Walcott. I didn’t really feel he would get much playing time so I listed him for transfer.”
Journalist: “There are also rumors that you’re looking to bring in Thibaut Courtois to your squad, who is currenty at Atlético Madrid on loan from Chelsea. Are you looking forward to bring him in?”
Arsène Wenger: “I know Courtios is a very good goalkeeper, and he is often labeled as the next Oliver Kahn, or the next Edwin van der Sar, but it’s unlikely that we’ll make a move for him. I don’t even think he might be interested. Chelsea’s going to need him soon, as Petr Cech is getting old. I believe he (Courtios) would add something to the club, but we’ve still got Szczesny and Timo Horn.”
Journalist: “Do you feel you can really win the league this season?”
Arsène Wenger: “It’s too early to decide who will win. But we’ve got the players, the confidence and the motivation to win, so why not?”
Journalists: “Thanks for answering our questions. Good luck with your next match."
