Leverkusen Start Of Season Press Conference

The last press conference before the start of the season has taken place in Leverkusen. Sascha Lewandowski has spoken out to the media regarding his expectations for the season and his opinion on his transfers aswell. Here is some key points of the interview.

Q: "We sit here only four days before the kick off to the season, How do you feel ahead of your game against freiburg?"

A: "I am very happy, The business that the club has been involved with over the transfer window was very pleasing and i feel that the harmony within the club is as good as ever, i feel we can go into that game in a positive mindset."

Q; "You mentioned something about the business the club was involved in, Who do you feel will be the most influential signing that you have made this window?"

A: "That is very unfair to ask me that question, I wouldnt have purchased the players if i didnt think they would be influential. I dont want to be boring but I feel they will all be as an important as each other."

Q: "Getting off the topic of transfers, What are your expectations for the club this season in terms of league and Champions League."

A: "I think our expectations for the league are to certainly challenge for second place in my opinion that would be good for us but in the champions league i want us to succeed our expectations I think we have what it takes to get to the latter stages of the competition."

Some very controversial words there from Lewandowski as we learn about his hopes to do well in the champions league. We will all be waiting eagerly to see if he can live up to his expectations.

Well thats a much bigger improvement on Pre season, but its not great. I could blame it on the fact that there is alot of new faces but i cant im willing to say it was poor tactical decisions that let the team down but i know where i went wrong and i know how to improve so that side of things are good. Many of the new signings shone and im proud of them and one of them got my Player of the month.

Saschas Opinion

Hard group we have been given, Real madrid and Marseille are two very tough teams to be placed against. Also, Slazburg have a very talented team that could pull out some top draw performances out of the bag to cause some surprises. I think we have enough to get through but it is crucial we get our tactics right in order to do this.

Well this month has been a real improvement, Im really happy with how the players have jelled.The new additions have been a revelation for the squad with them all making their on contributions in some sort of way, I hope this continues although it will be hard with team such as Real Madrid and Schalke 04 coming up on the fixture list!
