Speculation has arisen from all over the world in numerous tabloid papers over the globe about the future of Arsenal football club after current Chairman Sir John "Chips" Keswick announced that after only buying the club, already after a couple of months he was prepared to sell; leaving doubt in Arsenal fans minds.
However, American businessman and owner of American Football side “Washington Redskins” has confirmed that he has bought the club but wishes to keep the fee as a private matter. Arsenal fans are pleased to hear the news hoping that Snyder will provide funds for the new manager following Wenger’s termination of contract.
Daniel Snyder has said: “I am proud to be a part of Arsenal Football Club, I have always been a fan of Soccer (Football) and I hope that I can help push Arsenal on the financial side of the equation”
When being asked about why Wenger was sacked, he told the media: “Wenger has done great things with this club, and achieved many things, but things need to be changed, its been over eight years without a trophy and we need someone new to come in and shake things up”
He was then asked about what sort of person he would like to take over, his instant response was: “I want someone who will be a leader, who will show authority but I also what someone who is familiar with the club”
Snyder continued: “We have had a number of application forms come in, we’ve narrowed it down to five, two are former Arsenal players, one is an unemployed coach who is well known at the top level of football and the final two are currently employed at well-respected clubs within Europe. We hope to have a decision by the beginning of July 2013”
Tony Adams and Roberto Di Matteo are joint favourites to take over but news is set to come in over the next few days.
