Truro Secure Alcock On Loan

Truro has signed 19 year old Brighton midfielder Tim Alcock on loan for season. Truro will not have to pay for Alcock during his spell at the club due to the partnership between the two clubs but Brighton have the ability to call Alcock back from loan at any time.

Known for his high work rate and tremendous stamina, he will provide Truro with someone who is capable continually applying pressure in the midfield.

Alcock has lined up against Truro numerous times in the past three seasons in the Skrill Premier and Skrill South but he will join Truro as they attempt to avoid relegation from the Sky Bet League 2 this season.

Truro has been welcomed to the harsh reality of professional football with the side losing all but one of its fixtures to begin the season. Their first game of the Sky Bet League 2 saw Plymouth win 5-3 in a result that was similar to their pre-season friendly two weeks ago.

Aston Villa defeated Truro 6-0 in the Capital One Cup 1st Round which was Truro’s first loss on television. Truro then suffered three straight league defeats to Kidderminster, MK Dons & Scunthorpe.

To end the month, Truro played fellow relegation candidates Accrington coming away victorious 2-0 with Kelvin Etuhu and Stewart Yetton both scoring.

Not the positive start to the season Truro would have hoped for but only two sides get relegated in the Sky Bet League 2 so a point for every match they play should guarantee survival.

Yetton Reaches 300 Goals For Truro

In front of 1,325 fans at Treyew Road, Truro City icon Stewart Yetton has scored his 300th goal for the club in a Sky Bet League 2 fixture against Northampton.

Yetton scored in the 90th minute after getting on the end of a Kelvin Etuhu cross and putting the ball past Dean Snedker. Despite the goal, Truro lost the game 2-1.

“To once again reach a landmark for Truro is fantastic.” said Yetton. “The important thing is that the club manages to survive relegation this season and looks to build from there.” he added.

The 32 year old striker has scored 3 goals in 5 matches so far in the Sky Bet League 2 this season.

Truro put together a much better month as they begin to adjust to the rigours of professional football. In the first fixture of the month, Truro drew 1-1 with Burton in a match which Truro led for close to 70 minutes. They then took on current Sky Bet League Two leaders Portsmouth in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy 1st Round losing 2-1.

After a loss to chairman David Cardoza’s former club Northampton Town, Truro went on to win two straight again Barnet and Bury. They then managed an impressive draw against Tranmere in a game which Truro had two men sent from the field.

In the final match of the month, Truro lost to Dagenham and Redbridge 1-0 with Billy Bingham’s goal in the first minute proving the difference.

Truro find themselves in a much better position in the league than in the previous month. They currently sit four points away from the relegation zone.
