NEWCASTLE UNITED WORLD CUP SPECIAL

Gary LinekerSo, here we are sat in sunny Brazil Andre, you must now be in wonder land after the season you just had with Newcastle.

AVB Yes, you could say that Gary. Umm... the season was fantastic and I am very proud of my players but I have my sights set on bigger things for next season.

Gary Lineker I'm sure Newcastle fans will be pleased to hear that eyyy haha! Well a lot of people were surprised by your stand out players last year. You seem to have managed to bring the best out of players such as Gabriel Orbetan who had a terrific season for you.

AVB Yes Gabriel was fantastic this season. I played him in his preferred role on the right and gave him the freedom to show off what he can do. But I think we can not get carried away about just one player, I mean Kevin ummm little Kevin Kampl was playing out wide in that position a lot of the time and Gabriel would act as a sort of impact player. But yes, Gabriel definitely put in some important performances and he should be proud.

Gary Lineker Yes a lot of players performed well, including new signing Ryan Shawcorss who many fans believe to be player of the season. I bet you were happy when he put in the performances he did to silence the critics after the departure of Fabricio.

AVB I was very impressed with Ryan this year. It was hard for him to leave Stoke as we all know how much he loved the club and the fans. But he acted like a real professional and put in the performances for us straight away.

Gary Lineker Indeed. So Andre will you be looking at the talent on offer out here at the world cup to add to your squad

AVB Ofcourse, but I already have a few names in mind and the type of players I want to bring in. I will enjoy the time I spend out here with my family but of course I will always be looking for ways to improve the squad. We have already signed a striker on a contract with no transfer fee involved who I believe will add depth to the squad - Denis Stracqualursi.

Gary Lineker Well, good luck for next season and enjoy your time in Brazil.

TRANSFER NEWS

With all attention currently on England as they prepare for their world cup final, we at sky sports have taken some time off the world cup hype and decided to take a look at how Newcastle are preparing for their next challenge in the Champions League.

Andre Villas Boas is currently with his squad in the USA on a pre-season tour. The weather has been hot and humid and the players are being put through their limits to regain full fitness. AVB has stated that he wants to let his players know that to compete with the best they need to up their game and that means improving their fitness which is exactly what training in the hot USA should be doing for them right now.

AVB has already signed up Denis Stracqulasi on a free as we know. However, he has also added Nathan Dyer on a free to bolster up the strength and pace on the wings. This seems like a good deal for Newcastle having signed him on a reported cheap contract of just £28,000 a week. He should act as an important backup for Newcastle this season as they prepare for a longer fixture list this coming season.

AVB has also added another left winger named Marcelo Estigarriba from Chievo into his squad who has a lot of potential according to Villas Boas himself and is looking forward to see how he grows and matures as a football player.

However, the biggest piece of business so far for AVB is bringing in the talented striker Jordan Rhodes from Blackburn Rovers for a mere £5 million fee. Sky reports tell us that the fee has the potential rise in the future however it seems AVB has struck a great deal for a very talented goalscorer who scored an impressive 27 goals last season which helped Blackburn earn promotion through the playoffs.

It is believed that AVB was extremely close at signing the potentially wold class Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka who chose Newcastle in front of reputable clubs such as Liverpool and Paris St. Germain. Howvever, it is believed Xhaka failed his medical after injuring himself with the Swiss national side just before the world cup and therefore failed his medical. Howevwer, AVB remains confident that he will be able to bring Xhaka into the side and has expressed he is now his number one target.

Great signing in Rhodes!

Thanks mate, it was between him and Adem Ljacic, but I thought Rhodes is better goalscorer and a much cheaper player.

NEWCASTLE SPEND RECORD TRANSFER FEE

Newcastle have today confirmed the signing of Granit Xhaka from borussia mönchengladbach for a huge sum of £21 million. The transfer fee had been moved up an incredible £15 million due to the fact Granit had just signed a new contract with the club. However, AVB still feels that the fee was a representation of his true value. It has emerged that the board stepped in to handle the negotiations as the transfer budget AVB was given at the beginning of the season was too small to bring the player in. However, Mike Ashley agreed with Andre that he was a player who would help bring success to Newcastle and decided to go way over his allocated transfer budget to bring the player in.

Newcastle fans are extremely pleased with the deal as it shows the fantastic progress and ambition being brought to the club. They also have expressed their excitement at waiting to see what Xhaka can do and will enjoy seeing him grow into a world class football player

SEASON REVIEWS - 2014/2015 SEASON

A less than average season for AVB and Newcastle saw the team lying in 5th place at the end of the Premier League standings. After a 2nd place finish the season before AVB might have hoped for better and will be extremely disappointed at missing out on a Champions League position for the next up and coming season.

However Newcastle did surpass expectations in the Champions League by reaching the quarter final only to be knocked out by Chelsea 1-4 on aggregate. They put in an impressive performance in the First knock outbound to see off Paris St. Germain with the fans expressing their delight at being able to see their team see off such high class opponents.

Furthermore Newcastle saw a good FA cup run by reaching the semi final of the competition only to be beaten by Liverpool. However to get as far as they did AVB's men had to see off Chelsea in the quarterfinal with a very convincing 3-0 win. Newcastle's board have stated that despite the crushing semifinal defeat they have been pleased with AVB's eagerness to compete and do well in the FA cup whilst many other managers prioritise other competitions. This has also pleased the fans.

AVB has expressed his disappointment in the season despite a good Champions League and FA cup run. He states that next season and the seasons to come he will have a bigger squad with a wider range of depth to be able to cope with the longer fixture list and therefore believes his team will have the quality to go and do well in other competitions as well as win the league.

TRANSFER WINDOW REVIEWS - 2015/2016 SEASON

MIKE ASHLEY PUTS HIS MONEY WHERE HIS MOUTH IS

Influx of cash as Mike Ashley pushes for a Newcastle United team which he hopes can become the powerhouse of Europe. With an increase in sponsorship deals and the club becoming more valued due to the fantastic job that Andre Villas Boas has done so far the manager was given a huge amount of money to spend this season.

Newcastle fans have been delighted with the ambition shown by the Clubs owners and investors to allow AVB to strengthen his squad massively and add depth to his Newcastle team. Key players which stand out as players who the fans believe will shine for the team are the likes of Eder Alvarez Balanta, Lucas Romero Suso and Bernard.

THE STARS?

Players such as Ozyakup and Alex are expected to act as backup for the team however AVB has stated that each and every player he has brought in within this window has the quality and potential to make it into the starting 11 for the first game of the season. The fans are also pleased in the signing of English player Jack Rodwell who is already an England international. Lacina Trore ha sheen brought in to strengthen the attacking options with many fans believing his power and height has been missing in Newcastle's team and are hoping he can integrate this into the passing and possession style of football AVB has pushed upon his Newcastle sides the past two seasons.

BAKCUPS?

The fans and board alike are pleased with AVB's policy of purchasing young talent. A Lesser known player which AVB has brought in is the young Argentine defender Facundo Nievas, with AVB himself stating he can become one of the best defenders in the world within 5 years and will act as great cover for the coming season.

SEASON REVIEWS2015-2016 REVIEW

PREMIER LEAGUE

Newcastle fans celebrate in the streets as AVB brings his first title to the Toon. The trophy that every fan in England dreams of - the Premier League. Newcastle are the champions of England for the first time since the 1992-1993 season. AVB has won the highest division in England for only the 7th time in Newcastle United's history and only the 3rd time inNewcastle's post-war history. Andre Villas Boas has become a legend already in some Newcastle fans eyes.

EUROPA LEAGUE

A less successful season for Newcastle in the Europe league as many fans expected maybe a second trophy for the Toon Army being they were by far one of the strongest teams within the competition. Newcastle started the group stages extremely well qualifying into the knock out rounds in first place convincingly.

Newcastle went on to beat sc Hereenveen convincingly 7-2 on aggregate in the first knockout round however were then disappointingly defeated by PSV 3-4 on aggregate in the second knockout round. This disappointed the Newcastle fans as they felt their team were of a much higher quality and should have easily been able to handle the Dutch side.

DOMESTIC CUPS

A very disappointing season for Newcastle in this respect as the team were humiliated by Scunthorpe in the 3rd round of the FA cup, a result which prompted AVB to state that although the team won the league this season the FA cup run made the season not quite a success in his eyes.

The team were defeated in the 4th round of the capital one cup, a defeat which did not upset the Newcastle following too much as this is not regarded as important for a team of Newcastle's quality who must also contend with European games. Futhermore they lost to a high class team in Liverpool.
