Garitano adamant he will be proved right about Koeman, despite loss to Mallorca

The manager of relegation threatened Liga Adelante side Luganes believes that the warning he sounded to Mallorca bosses following the appointment of Ronald Koeman should still be heeded - despite crashing to a 3-0 loss to Mallorca yesterday.

Following the appointment of Koeman just over a month ago, Asier Garitano, who manages 22nd place Luganes publicly criticized the decision to bring the 51-year-old to the club.

"Mallorca are a team that are getting good results consistently, and that's not something that Ronald was achieving at Southampton."

Koeman dismissed the statement, and started life at Mallorca strongly - after beating Garitano's team yesterday evening, the Dutchman has led Los Bermellones to an impressive seven wins from his first nine games in charge.

But Garitano is still not convinced. Speaking to MARCA for a second time following the 3-0 loss, the 44-year-old Spaniard said the following: "It has been a good start for Ronald here in Spain - but who did all of the work to get them into such a strong position? Johan Neeskens. Ronald is only getting results off of the back of someone else's work, and I feel that my first warning to Mallorca should still be taken into consideration."

Koeman has maintained Mallorca's 2nd place position, and with six games left, automatic promotion back to La Liga seems to be on the cards, with the Dutchman already making plans for next season by bringing in the Portuguese duo of Simão and César Peixoto.
This Garitano lad seems bitter
It has come to my attention that there are actually 42 games in your season, so I shall edit this comment. Good luck Not there yet, but you should be ok. :) That goal difference will help!
Don't let this go now! Although when you finish third, there are still play-offs, it'll be more comfortable if you keep this 2nd place. Good luck!
Some great form there! Keep it up and you should be able to make it to the BBVA. Goodluck! :D
