Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has revealed that the transfer market is closed for him, and that there will be no more activity until January's transfer window. Ancelotti has put an end to the speculations about Real Madrid being linked to Borussia Dortmund striker, Lewandowski. There were also rumors that Los Blancos were in search of a midfielder to be a backup to Luka Modric. İlkay Gündoğan was thought to be closing in on a deal which would bring him to the Santiago Bernabéu. However, Gündoğan and Ancelotti confirmed there was no link between them.

"For me, the transfer window is closed. We have brought in several quality players that caused the squad to be full. I have heard rumors that Lewandowski and Gündoğan could be coming to Real Madrid, but they are completely false. We have a world class striker (Benzema) and two world class midfielders (Modric and Alonso). Of course it will be difficult for Casemiro and Illaramendi to break into the first team, so I might loan one of them out in the January transfer window. But for now, no more deals."

Carlo Ancelotti has indicated that the squad is fully prepared and confident of a win in their first competitive match of the season. The €100m star, Gareth Bale, remains the only injured player in the Los Blancos squad, and could wait for up to three weeks to make his Real Madrid debut. Elsewhere, Barcelona face Villarreal, in which they hope to retain their La Liga crown and stop rivals Real Madrid from putting their hands on the title.

"We have got a better chance than Real Madrid at winning the league title. If you compare the two squads, I believe we've got the upper hand. I will not be surprised if Ancelotti doesn't win the title, it's just been part of the Real Madrid tradition over the past few years. I will not be changing the way Barcelona plays. The tiki-taka possession style is more than a part of Barcelona's history. It's just integrated into the players."
