Well, they did go out in the first round of the cup, so that's really the only part where we can really improve :P

Bayern Munich Kits for 2016/17

Bayern have today officially presented their three new kits for the upcoming 2016/17 Bundesliga season. The German champions have replaced former shirt sponsor T-Mobile with German beer brand Holsten. The choice for this new head sponsor was easily made, according to Mattias Sammer’s words: “München is all about beer, and I think this logo is really easy on the eye as well.”

Bayern’s home kit has a very classic design with a predominantly red look, with small white and blue details. The design is made more interesting by a few dark red stripes running down the kit diagonally. This adds a nice touch of detail to the clean and simple kits.

The German champions have got a very interesting away kit, to say the least. The strip is designed by new main sponsors Holsten, and it is shaped to look like a beer glass. The shirt has been received very well by fans, as they liked the general simple look, but also the idea behind it.

This third shirt is the darkest shirt of the pair, making up from the lighter home and away kits for the season. This kit is deep blue for the most part, rounded off with white and dark brown details. The kit features a special monotone Bayern logo to compliment the kit.
That away kit :))

Cañizares takes up Spain Role

Alongside his managerial duties at Bayern Munich, manager Santiago Cañizares will also coach the national side of Spain, his home country. The Spanish reputable manager will manage Spain alongside his Bayern side. At Spain, he takes over from former Bayern manager Pep Guardiola, who was fired after a very unsuccessful European Championship: Spain went out in the first knock-out round against Germany.

Cañizares will now have to prepare his side for the World Cup of 2018 in Russia, where his team is seen as one of the main contenders to win the cup. The manager will have a squad of world-class players to his availability, including players such as Cesc Fàbregas (Chelsea), David De Gea (Manchester United), Diego Costa (Chelsea) and Isco (Real Madrid).

It is expected that several youth players will start to get more of a chance under the new manager, as the current squad is pretty old. The first match that Spain will play under Cañizares is a World Cup Qualifier against Georgia at the Riazor Stadium in La Coruña. Spain are in a qualifying group with Georgia, Slovenia, Ireland, Azerbaijan and Ukraine.
Nice kits and congratulations on the Spain job! :D

Pre-Season 2016/2017

Fixtures:

Review:
The first match where Cañizares was in charge was a friendly against Bayern’s second team. Bayern played with a weaker side due to the European Championship going on at that moment. But still, Bayern won comfortably with three goals to nil. The goals were scored by Holger Badstuber, from a corner, youth talent Pierre-Emile Höjbjerg and Mario Götze.

After that, Bayern and Mainz 05 met at the Allianz Arena. The home team dominated the match, but it took until the 80th minute for them to score: Timo Werner put the team 1-0 up. After this, no more goals were scored, so the match ended in a narrow 1-0 victory for Bayern.

Then, Bayern played a match against recently promoted RB Leipzig, who were now playing in the 1. Bundesliga. Bayern put out a very strong team, in contrast to the last two matches, so a big win was expected. Bayern eventually won the match 2-1, so it wasn’t quite the dominant performance that was expected before the match.

In the last pre-season friendly, Bayern met a tough team: Liverpool. The team managed by Roberto Mancini had world stars like Suárez and Martin Kelly. But after only 26 minutes, Lewandowski put the home team 1-0 up, and Bayern looked very confident and calm. Early in the second half, Timo Werner put the team 2-0 up, and in the 66th minute Varane extended the lead even furher. Bayern held onto that lead, meaning the final score was 3-0.

Player of the Month(s):
Centre-back Holger Badstuber has been very solid defensively, also scoring one goal.
Good win against Pool!

First Summer Transfers of 2016/2017 (before Start of the Season)

Bayern’s big transfer of this window is Julian Draxler. The Schalke starlet has joined Bayern for a fee of 45 million euros. The German international will earn 140k per week. The deal will run until 2021, so clubs that want to approach Draxler, will have to pay up a lot of money.

Draxler came through the youth ranks of Schalke, and he is one of their many great youth players from the past years. The 23-year-old is expected to play a major role in Bayern’s squad this year, playing on the left wing of Cañizares’ 3-5-2 formation.

Another big transfer is the signing of American player Tlotzin Silva. This 18-year-old attacking mid has already played 14 matches for the USMNT – America’s national team. Although he is still 18 years old, he has made this transfer for a fee of 35 million Euros, and people are already questioning if the player can handle the immense pressure at Bayern Munich. It is expected that Silva will play quite an important role in the squad, being the back-up of Mario Götze at attacking midfield department.

This young talent has come through the youth ranks at Chivas, where he has played 58 matches in 2 seasons, making his debut at the age of 15. After these great performances, all of Europe wanted the attacking mid, but he instead opted for a move to Cagliari for 6.75 million Euros. In only 16 matches he increased his reputation further with 2 goals and 9 assists. Bayern were really impressed with the player and eventually paid 35 million for him after he joined Cagliari for almost 30 million Euros less only a half a year ago.

Bayern have not let any big, first-team players leave the club yet, but they have sold a few players that played a role at the club in the past years, including Juan Bernat and Wallace, both wingbacks. These players were no longer needed as Cañizares has chosen for a new formation without any wingbacks.

Bayern had a quiet transfer summer up until now, but we’ve put together this list which will show you all of the club’s transfers:

Predicted Team

With Bayern’s new signings, we predict that their first team will look like this:

Match Report: Schalke 04-Bayern Munich (German Supercup)

Before the Bundesliga season started, Cañizares had a chance to reel in his first prize at Bayern: his team played Schalke 04 in the German Supercup, where the Bundesliga champion of last year – Bayern – plays against the DFB Cup-winner – Schalke. The match was played at the Veltins-Arena, Schalke’s home ground, and the stadium was sold-out. This match was the first official match of the new season in Germany.

Match Report

The Veltins Arena was completely sold out, and one half was filled with blue shirts, while the other was filled with red shirts. Both teams had a great squad, but Bayern were big favourites, as they arguably have the best squad in the world at the moment. Schalke played with the following team: Horn – Uchida, Ginter, Höwedes, Kolasinac – Hahn, Neustädter, Rode, Meyer – Avdijaj, Morata.

Meanwhile Bayern played with the following line-up, with some South-American players on international duty: Neuer – Boateng, Varane, Badstuber – Martínez – Müller, Kroos, Thiago, Draxler – Götze, Lewandowski. The most interesting name in the line-up is probably the name of Badstuber, who is only in the squad because Dória is on international duty.

After only four minutes, things got out of hand as Sebastian Rode – an ex-Bayern player – gave Mario Götze a firm bodycheck. The referee decided to give the 25-year-old midfielder a straight red card for his foul. Rode accepted his red card and slowly walked off the pitch with his head in his hands. Schalke now had to play with 10 men for the remainder of the match – 86 minutes.

Only four minutes after Rode’s red card, German youth international Max Meyer delivered a perfect corner onto the head of André Hahn, who was patiently awaiting the ball at the near post. Hahn headed the corner into the goal via the bar, and Neuer couldn’t possibly save the shot, as he anticipated a cross to the far post instead of the near post.

Cañizares’ team were stunned by this goal, and they didn’t score in the rest of the first half. But they were a changed team after the break. And after five minutes in that second half, Morata knocked over Lewandowski, who was in a perfect position to score from Kroos’ corner. This push by Morata turned out to be a very costly one, as the referee awarded a penalty to Bayern. Lucas Moura stepped up to the spot and slotted home the 1-1.

Only seven minutes after the 1-1, Bayern scored again: Tlotzin Silva picked up the ball around the halfway line, and he delivered a cross to Toni Kroos, who tucked away a goal that gave Bayern the lead in Cañizares’ first official match for Bayern: 2-1 to der Rekordmeister. The Schalke fans in the Veltins-Arena were silenced by this goal, and the Bayern fans were now the fans making the most noise in the stadium.

In the 71st minute, Bayern Munich extended their lead with another goal, and they now had a two-goal-lead over Schalke. The move that led to the goal started with a throw-in by Draxler, who got the ball to Javi Martínez. The Spaniard then lined up Tlotzin Silva who fired home his first Bayern goal ever. The American youngster smashed the ball into the top corner and made the score 3-1.

Robert Lewandowski also got himself a goal in this match, scoring against his old clubs’ arch-rivals. After 78 minutes of play, the Polish striker received a cross by Lucas Moura, and instead of immediately shooting, Bayern’s striker dribbled around the keeper and eventually shot the ball into the empty net from a pretty hard angle.

After the match, all Schalke fans quickly exited the stadium, but the Bayern fans sticked around to see their team receiving another prize. They sung chants for their new manager, who has made a good first impression with this perfect debut in German football.
Quality updates and great graphics mate. Good luck at Bayern and Spain! B)
I really like your layout, and banner! Interesting kits too! I like the first and the away. Not so sure about the third kit though :P The backgrounds look awesome as well!

On Hold

Sorry for all of you followers, but this story is going to be on a hold for about three weeks as I'm very busy and after that I'm going on a holiday. I don't know if this will continue - as I'm just too OP with Bayern, I've got too good of a squad imo. If it doesn't return, there will be a new story!

I will still be online, but don't expect any updates in the coming weeks. Thanks for the support on this, it's been nice writing it!
wat.
