I know, I know "Not another TaT story...But, this time, i'm going to stick with it until FM15 comes out. I've always wanted to do a 'fallen giant' story, and Dresden fit that bill...plus there's some sentimentality here - they're my go-to career club on FIFA08 for the GameCube.

Anyway, without further Ado, let's get to it.

Dynamo Dresden are a club steeped in history. Founded on April 12th 1953, and affiliated with the East German police force, Dresden went on to become one of the most successful clubs in the East German league, winning eight titles.

Post-Reunification, Dresden played in the Bundesliga from 1991-95, but since then, have yo-yo'd between the 2nd and 4th tiers of German football. The club is currently in need of an overhaul, and a return to winning ways and it's past glory.

In terms of facilities, Dresden's stadium, the Glücksgas Stadium was rebuilt in the 1990s, to meet with FIFA and the DFB's regulations, and has a capacity of 32000, of which 10-15000 is regularly filled on a matchday, making Dresden one of the most well-supported clubs in the lower leagues of Germany.

I leant back in my chair; Dresden is my new home.

good luck TaT, dresden has always been a club that intrigues me
A really nice overview of the teams history. Hope this goes far as by the sounds of it, Dresden are a huge club

Hello and Welcome to Heinz-Steyer Stadion, where Dresden's first team face off against the club's reserves in new manager Tony Young's first game in charge of the club. Fans and pundits alike are said to be excited for this game, as they get to see the start of a new Era at the club, and a look at some of the side's prospects for the future.

Whilst many are expecting the game to be largely one-sided, there is still palpable tension in the air as we await the announcement of the squad for Young's first game.

Dresden 1st XI

Kirsten, Schuppan, Leistner, Bregerie (c), Menz, Fiel, Trojan, Kempe, Richter, Koch, Pote

Overall, a fairly predictable lineup for Dresden, and many people are excited to see how Richter, a newly signed 15 year old attacking midfielder, will fare in his first game for the club.

First Half

Dresden started quickly, and were 1-0 after just 7 minutes. Menz's long throw found Richter on the edge of the box, and he quickly squared for Koch, before darting into space just past the left-back's shoulder, where Koch picked him out. A fine cross followed, and found Mickael Pote in acres of space just inside the 6 yard line, and the striker made no mistake with his header.

The rest of the half passed without major incident - Dresden were threatening, but the reserve defenders held strong and there was no way through

Half-Time Analysis

Overall, a comfortable start for Dresden, and a good showing from the young Dresden II defence must be comforting for Young - strength in depth will be key for the coming season, and on this display, there are some real gems in that reserve team who he could call upon.

Young Attacking midfielder Richter has put in a good shift in the middle of the pitch, proving the assist for Dresden's goal. It will be interesting to see if he has the stamina to keep that up for the remainder of the game.

Second Half

Dresden's second goal came quickly in the second half; Koch's pass inside to Richter was intercepted by a defender on the edge of the box, but Richter recovered quickly, dispossesing the defender, and laying a quick ball through to Pote on the edge of the box, and the Striker slotted home past the goalkeeper to double Dresden's lead.

Tobias Muller pulled a goal back for the 2nd team, latching on to a long pass from the defence to lift the ball over goalkeeper Kirsten, and bring an edge back into the game.

Pote wasted no time in notching his hat-trick, picking up on a long pass forward from Trojan, before beating two defenders to slot the ball underneath the goalkeeper and make it 3-1. There was activity on the Dresden bench soon after, with Aoudia replacing Pote, Ouali replacing Koch and Susac replacing Bregerie in the centre of the Dresden defence. Pote recieved a standing ovation as he came off, and he's bound to be happy with his performance today.

Ouali made his impact quickly, capping off a team move which started with Trojan, who played the ball forward to Richter, who once again excelled himself, beating 3 defenders with a sublime pass to the left wing, where Kempe met the pass, and played the ball back to him. Richter then pushed a pass through the defence, where Aoudia met it, but rather than going for goal himself, he turned his back on goal, as two defenders rushed past, to square it to Ouali, whose first-time shot almost burst the back of the net.

Four Join Dresden as Young Rebuilds

Welcome to Dresden TV, where today we have exclusive news and the introductions of four new players to the club: two, we have already met - Felix Richter and Fynn Tasche have featured against and for the Dresden Reserves respectively in the clubs' first pre-season friendly.

The youngsters, aged 14 and 15 respectively, already look like massive talents, and are likely to become incredible players for the club, with fans delighted that Young has managed to use his scouting team to full effect in picking up these two, admittedly rough, diamonds.

The first big-name player to arrive at Dresden is 34 year old Brazillian Kleberson, a World Cup winner in 2002, the Midfielder brings a wealth of experience to the club, not least his 2 year stint at Manchester United, where he made 20 appearances and scored two goals, eclipsed by his fellow (at the time) new signing Cristiano Ronaldo.

It is thought that Young views the Brazillian as the man to bring an experienced head to the fold, and guide the younger players to maximise their development.

The second new arrival is Leon Balogun, who arrives on loan from fellow 2nd division side Dusseldorf, although he will not be able to play against them in the league. The 25 year-old right back has bags of pace at his disposal, and is no stranger to the scoresheet, averaging a goal every 14 games, and pitching in his fair share of assists to boot. Quick and strong, his hard and proficient tackling is likely to become a big part of how the club play this season.

Our next episode will look at the sides fortunes in pre-season, and we'll also be bringing you some analysis of those performances, and the new signings.

Fine Voice: Dresden fans sing the praises of their heroes

In a pre-season which many people thought may have been tough for a new manager, and a side still getting used to his style of play, Dynamo Dresden have excelled themselves: 5 games played, 5 games won, 17 goals scored, and only 6 goals conceded. The side, newly managed by Englishman Tony Young, have demonstrated maturity and attacking flair to make it through some tough games ahead of their season opener against Inglostadt.

Dresden kicked off their pre-season with a match against their own reserves, in which they dominated to win 4-1, with a hat-trick from Michael Pote, and one goal from Idir Ouali to seal the result in Young's first game in charge.

The remainder of pre-season included some tight games: A narrow 3-2 win over Auxerre was the highlight of the fixtures, and Young will be relieved to have made it out of that game with a win.

Dresden Kick Off Season At Home

Dyanmo Dresden kicked off their 2.Bundesliga season at home today, against an Ingolstadt side who have been priced at 25-1 for the title: not far ahead of Dresden's 33-1. Billed as an early relegation six-pointer, this was a game which new manager Tony Young had to win, in order to instill some belief into his players that this year, they might be able to avoid battling the drop.

Dresden XI to face Inglostadt

Kirsten, Schuppan, Susac, Bregerie, Menz, Losilla, Fiel, Dedic, Trojan, Koch, Pote
Subs: Fromlowitz, Sabah, Hartmann, Benyamina, Balogun, Kempe, Aoudia

First Half

Ingolstadt started brightly, with some quality passing in the middle of the pitch, and some flashes of individual brilliance causing Dresden some problems. Problems which only intensified when Bregerie failed to deal with a deep cross from Engel, and Moritz Hartmann made no mistake from the edge of the area to put Ingolstadt 1-0 up after just 8 minutes.

Dresden struck back quickly though, some sublime interplay on the edge of the Ingolstadt area led to Pote finding the ball at his feet, but with his back to goal, and 3 defenders closing him down, he laid the ball to the side, where Robert Koch met it with a stinging shot which found the back of the net, past the flailing goalkeeper, and a valiant attempt at a goal-line clearance from Mijatovic. 1-1 after just 15 minutes.

After that early flurry of activity, both sides looked cautious, and neither were really creating anything of any substance. As such, when the two sides went in at the break, the score still stood at 1-1.

Second Half

Dresden came out after the break with all guns blazing, and quickly earned a free-kick on the edge of the Ingolstadt box when Tamas Hajnal pulled Fiel to the ground in a tussle for the ball. Fiel picked himself up to take the free kick, but he fired it narrowly over the bar.

An hour into the game, and with no further action, Tony Young made two changes to his side: Leon Balogun replaced the impressive Christoph Menz, who offered little going forwards, and Amine Aoudia was brought on for Mickael Pote. As both players recieved their final instructions, silence fell on the Dresden bench: Pote was not impressed, and as Fiel took the armband from him, he had shoved his vice-captain away, uttering something disparaging as he did so, and the rest of the side had to separate the two warring leaders. Pote ignored the bench entirely, storming straight up the tunnel and vanishing.

With ten minutes remaining, Trojan picked up an injury, and was replaced by Tobias Kempe. None of the substitutions had the desired effect though, and despite one long-range shot from Balogun, the game finished 1-1.

Full Time: Dresden 1-1 Ingolstadt

Young's Thoughts: "I think today was an encouraging game: we showed great character to get that equaliser, and against a team who will be competing in the same areas as we are, we put in a good performance. Admittedly i'd have liked the win, but as far as i'm concerned, it was a good game for our first league match of the season.
Wow, good start to your season, and the detail is immense! Also, the graphics are very good, especially the one under your pre-season update!
