About this story;

Why Tottenham?

I feel the Tottenham squad have a lot of potential on fm, with a few Trasnfers I feel the soon to be revealed manager could take them to the next level.

What do I want to achieve?

I will defiantly want to finish top four as a minimum. It will be a tough ask to push for the tittle, but I will not rule it out. I will also look to push on in Europe. The Europa league will surely be a realistic challenge for the squad.

Transfers?
So far there has not been much action for Tottenham in the transfer market. They have recently brought in young and promising left back Ben Davies and Michel Vorm both formally of Swansea. ( I will be using a updated database). I will be looking to add some talent to the squad. I'm also looking to involve you lot as much as possible so please comment as you wish. Whether it be tactics, transfers, tips or advice.

Updates soon:)

RDM – It’s no secret about my history with Chelsea, I had many great years playing their and not to mention that great night in Munich. Nothing will ever change the way I feel about Chelsea but I’m here to give my all for Tottenham and I’m sure they’ll grow to love that.

New Tottenham manager Roberto Di Matteo has wasted no time in making changes to his Squad. He has officially confirmed today to BBC Sport that Klass Jan Huntelaar has joined Tottenham after they activated his £12.75 million release clause. The former Real Madrid and Schalke stiker will be fighting for his spot in the first team with Roberto Soldado.

This is what Roberto had to say, “ Klass is a quality striker and will provide power and strength and goals to our front line, something we missed slightly last season. He’s a great addition to the squad and he can’t wait to get started."

Di Matteo has made three more signings in his attempt to strengthen his current Tottenham Hotspur squad. Di Matteo has reportedly spent around a combined £30,000,000 on his new players.
The first of which will send a big message to the rest of top four clubs. Signing from Zenit, Tottenham have brought Portuguese midfielder Danny. For a fee believed to be in the region of £17,500,000. Di Matteo has made it clear he wanted to strengthen his options out wide. Di Matteo has stated he was very happy with his addition. “He’ll add pace and flair to the team, I’m sure he’ll slot in very nicely”.

The next player on Tottenham’s radar was young talent Jordy Clasie, the 23 year old joins from Feyenoord for £9,500,000. The Dutch international is thought to be that they can develop, he is not thought to be first choice however who knows what will happen if he puts in a few good performances.

Di Matteo is thought to be after a number of experienced players to add to his squad. He has snapped up ex Chelsea midfielder Tiago, who joined from Athletico Madrid. His second Portuguese signing joins for £1,500,000. Roberto sounded very excited to involve Tiago within the squad, he said “Tiago will offer us great experience, he has played in England previously and Spain, a real bargain for the club”.

Di Matteo has hinted he is still in the market, he has made it clear he wants to find a replacement for Club captain Michael Dawson who could be on his way out the club. The 30 year old is no longer first choice, but wants to stick around for another season. However he is still unsure of who will try to pick up in the market.

Roberto Di Matteo News Conference

Four Leave to make Room

“Lewis Holtby and Thomas Carroll have both left White hart lane . Holtby leaves for Everton in the search for consistent first team football, for a fee of £8,500,000. The young English talent that is Thomas Carroll has left for Scottish champions Celtic. He felt his development would benefit away from White hart lane I wasn’t going to stand in the way when Celtic came along with a £2,000,000 offer.

Elsewhere youngsters Zeki Fryers and Jonathon Obika have both left on loan to Burnley and Swindon respectively, this is a great opportunity for them both to gain first team experience. They are both keen to make the most of their time away.

Finally we can confirm that Benoit Assoi-Ekotto has left the club for Olympique de Marseille, for a fee of £1,000,000. Ekotto leaves permanently after spending last season on loan at championship side QPR.

I would like thank the players that have left as they have been great servants for to the club and we wish them well for the future. For the youngsters going out on loan, we wish all the best of luck for your development.

Pre-Season Round up

http://i62.tinypic.com/30mlrf6.jpg

Kilmarnock 2-1 Tottenham Hotspur
Chamois Niotais 2-1 Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham 1 -4 Real Madrid
Tottenham 1-1 San Lorenzo
Athletico Madrid 1-2 Tottenham

Player of Pre season – Huntelaar
Top Goal Scorer – Huntelaar (3)

Overall a poor pre-season which doesn’t help the team in the build up to a pre-season, it left Roberto Di Matteo struggle to pick a player of pre-season when questioned on it. Only scoring six goals which included two own goals, this was defiantly a problem Di Matteo wants to solve.

Giroud goal sinks spurs
Tottenham left White hart lane wondering what could have been after falling to a 2-0 defeat against close rivals Arsenal. As expected the tense and lively game lived up to expectations. Tottenham defiantly had chances but failed to find the back of the net. Unfortunately for spurs, Arsenal did find the back of the net twice, two first half goals from new signing Alexis Sanchez and Frenchmen Oliver Giroud.
When Di Matteo Spoke to BBC Sport after the game, he revealed “The players are gutted, but we know we weren’t good enough. He just couldn’t score, the lads really gave it there all. However we still have a lot of work to do”.

Tottenham have been drawn again Apollon L. in their Europa league Play off game. The two legged tie will see Spurs take on Apollon at White hart lane first and then have the respective away leg the following week, were they will be hoping they do not have to rely on any away goals. Tottenham will defiantly fancy their chances of advancing.
Nice few updates mate, good luck!
