NOVEMBER UPDATE
Reds smash sorry swans
Liverpool recorded their biggest win of the season and in some style. A troubled Swansea came to town, who are enduring their worst start to a season and currently sitting in 16th position. Garry Monk defiantly was up against it here and Anfield looked like the last place he wanted to be.
Liverpool wasted no time on compounding the misery of the few travelling Welsh supporters, Lazar Markovic who has become a focal point in this Liverpool team scored a beautiful curled free kick into the back of the net within the first five minutes of the game. Markovic was defiantly feeling up for this game, the Serb destroyed Swansea from start to finish. Markovic went on the seal his hat trick after scoring from close range and finding himself dancing through the Swansea back line in what can only be described and a ‘Messi like’ run.
Balotelli got involved in the action. The Italian made a late run into the box to find himself heading home from a pin point cross from Raheem Sterling. Markovic wasn’t finished there and went on to score a fourth, after neat link up play with Mateo Kovacic. All the Swansea players turned to the big screen at Anfield to see the clock, only to realise they have only played thirty five minutes.
Beyond any supporters wildest expectations that they would see their team up 5-0 within thirty five minutes. This was a sublime performance from the reds against what was a poor Swansea effort. Things did not get any better in the second half, after a slip from former Liverpool player Jonjo Shelvey allowed Balotelli in on goal, he curled the ball around the out coming goalkeeper Lukas Fabianski, who looked like he was waiting for the ground to cave in on him.
Captain Ashley Williams gave away a penalty after a late tackle on Balotelli, with Gerrard resting up stepped Balotelli. To slot home the calmest penalty you have ever seen. Nathan Dyer pulled a goal back for the Swans, however the goal will never stand for anything after a dreadful performance. With the scoreline finishing a massive 7-1.

REMAINING FIXTURES
Carragher’s Verdict
Another busy month for us, I have got to be honest I was very pleased with how we started. We yet again showed our ability to kill off teams as we did with West Brom, something we can be proud of for sure. The team were absolutely gutted about the Ajax result, leaving us with only the Europa League to play for now, unless Ajax slip up. I felt we could have done much better but it wasn’t to be. Never the less we will carry on fighting to achieve the best we can on the European front. Stoke was a great game for us, we created chances at will. Mateo showed his potential and really put a stamp on the game with a great performance.
