The season is now underway, and so is the story. There is a great need for change at the club, we have the weakest squad in the league. Therefore, there will be many decisions to be made. As you know our predicted finish is rock bottom, therefore our season expectations are to avoid relegation. The upcoming season will be very exciting, but the extent of our success depends upon the decision made by our directors.

2013 Fixtures:

First Game Performance Analysis (Rotherham 5-1 Rotherham U21s)

Although a friendly against the U21s is next to meaningless, and we are expected to outshine them, it is a great opportunity to analyse how each and every player performs, who contributes to goals, who holds the defence together, who provides structure, basically who we need and who we don't. No substitutes were made throughout the game, I wanted to be to analyse each player of our best eleven for the full ninety minutes.

Defence: In terms of ability and quality of performance, Frazer Richardson and Kirk Broadfoot are far superior to Richard Wood and Joe Skarz, who not only performed poorly, but were liable for the goal we conceded. But to be fair, they only had one shot on target the whole game, perhaps they were caught off guard. Whilst Richardson resolved two clear cut chances, and Broadfoot bagged himself a goal.

Midfield: Conor Newton performed well, but Ben Pringle and Paul Green (the captain) were outstanding, who both managed to get themselves on the score sheet. Robert Milsom was very mediocre, but of course, it's difficult to judge after one game.

Attack: Although Paul Taylor's two goals outshine Luciano Becchio's zero goals on paper, in my eyes Becchio's performance was more important than that of Paul Taylor's, assisting three goals in total (both of Taylor's goals and Pringle's goal).

I'm aware it's very difficult to judge how one will performance over a season by one game, but I wanted to give you all an idea of how each of our best eleven perform, so I thought the very first game would be best in which to do so.

C'MON ROVRAM! C'MON ROVRAM! 5-1! 5-1! We beat the scum!!!!11!1

5-1 either bodes well for the senior squad or shows how appalling our future prospects are.........

So our first signing has been selected, courtesy of No1villafan. We were in need of an AMR, as neither Febian Brandy or Jordan Bowery are championship standard. No1villafan thought it was best to loan a youngster rather than sign an elder on a free, as we need to get the best value for money possible as our wage budget (and transfer budget) is very limited. The player he chose was Blair Turgott, a youngster from West Ham. His wage is £1K per week, on a season long loan. Although his attributes are questionably low, No1villafan is sure he will grind out solid performances throughout the season. Hopefully he's right, because if not we can't just demote him to the reserves, as all signings have to make a total of 25 appearances in their first season (stated in rules section in introduction update).

Rumours are circulating that Turgott had a fall out with numerous staff at West Ham, including assistant manager Neil McDonald. This could result in him having low morale, and negatively effect his performances. However, Turgott spoke out against the media and claimed that all rumours are false, as seen on the front page of the FourFourTwo footy mag:


Turgott stated in conference, "I am extremely happy at West Ham and plan to have a successful career at the club. The boss (Sam Allardyce) felt it was best for me to go out on loan and get some game time, as I'm not quite first team quality yet, and that's all.".

Decent shout...hope he can make something happen
