GOSSIP: Rafael wants out
Manchester United's star full-back Rafael Da Silva is apparently unhappy and is seeking a move away from the club.
The Brazilian, who is United's best full-back has not stated why he is currently unhappy but many reports are showing that he wants to move away from England as PSG suit up a possible bid for the full-back who has really impressed in the opening couple of months of the season for Manchester United, keeping new signing Danilo out of the team due to a string of good performances which has left manager Louis van Gaal very happy.
Rafael has been at United since 2008, moving from his native country Brazil over to the red side of Manchester and has since rose up from the youth ranks and into the first team, being United's starting full-back since Gary Neville retired. Despite his lack of experience, the Brazilian took to the league well, making a good contribution down United's right flank which has led to many goals over the years, but soon United could be seeing their fan favourite moving away from the club.
As stated above, the current reason as to why Rafael wants to move away from United is unknown but some sources close to the player have suggested that he wants to move to another country to experience a whole new life as he feels his time is up not only staying in Manchester, but in England altogether. PSG have made first contact with the full-backs agent as they weigh up a possible bid to secure the players services in the January transfer window.
Rafael has become a fan favourite after impressing over the years since his rise up the youth ranks, seen here in a picture with Sir Alex Ferguson.
Louis van Gaal was asked about his opinions in the matter in his latest news conference ahead of the clubs next game, with the manager saying the following about Rafael and PSG;
"I am aware that there are some reports about Rafael being unsettled here. I have spoken to the player about the future and as of now we are awaiting his decision. We would love to keep him here but it may not be possible as if he is desperate to leave, we have to accept that and let him as it may bring down the dressing room if we have one unhappy player in there."
"As for the interest from other clubs, I remain in the same stance, we will look at and consider any offer if the player makes it clear he wants to leave but we have to look at he financial side of things here too and see if the offer is worthwhile for a player of Rafael's calibre and ability. We will see what happens in the next month or so."
United have another tough month to come and with the January transfer window on the horizon, it will be interesting to see if van Gaal decides to let Rafael go and bring in a few more faces into his evergrowing squad to try and push for the league title. We will keep you updated on the situation regarding Rafael as soon as we get more news.
