van Gaal: "We will bounce back against Aston Villa"
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has told the press in his latest conference that his team will bounce back after their 6-3 defeat to Chelsea.
The Dutch manager reassured the fans in his most recent conference, saying that they should not worry as Manchester United will be back. van Gaal had a Premier League managerial debut to forget after his new United side lost 6-3 to Jose Mourinho's Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, with new signing Dede already making a bad impression after making two mistakes which led to two Chelsea goals. Manchester United face Aston Villa at Old Trafford next weekend and it has been deemed as a 'must win game' so United can register some points on the table and build up a run of good form.
van Gaal also praised new signing Angel Di Maria after his performance against Chelsea, stating that the Argentine is 'one of the best in the World' and that he will inspire other members of the team to perform to the best standard possible. Di Maria scored one goal and got one assist against Chelsea, but also did his fair share of defending which showed the midfielders work rate and determination whilst playing for his new club. He was a constant threat down the left side and on another day, he could have scored a hat-trick with the amount of chances he had.
Despite all the negatives, van Gaal’s men did have some positive spells throughout the game, with his team scoring three magnificent goals against a resilient Chelsea defence. The link-up play between some new faces and some old faces is a good sign for van Gaal as now he knows that his new players are capable of making assists and getting goals, meaning that he probably took more positives than negatives from that defeat.

van Gaal remains calm and confident that his team will succeed in the next few Barclays Premier League matches, telling the press the following in his most recent conference ahead of the Aston Villa game;
”The defeat against Chelsea looks bad on paper, yes, and some fans now believe that I am the devil of Manchester, which is not true as it is only the first game, and playing against a team who came second in this league the previous season, it is always a hard game away at their stadium. The fans need to stick by the team as we've only just begun. We are Manchester United and we are the biggest team in the World, and you will see that against Aston Villa this weekend.”
It will be a very interesting game against Aston Villa, with rumours going around that players such as Dede will be dropped after their bad performance, and names such as Phil Jones, Antonio Valencia and Luke Shaw possibly making their way back into the first team. United will need to score the first goal as soon as possible to direct any pressure away from them. It looks on paper an easy win for United but after the nightmares of last season, until they can get a good run of form going, any team can take points away from them.
