ARBELOA OUT AS BALANTA STALLS

Real Madrid right back Alvaro Arbeloa has become the next player to leave Los Merengues, as their approach for River Plate’s Eder Alvarez Balanta breaks down.

Arbeloa, often played as second fiddle to Sergio Ramos and more recently Dani Carvajal, will join FC Schalke 04 for £2 million.

The former Deportivo La Coruña right back has agreed a three-year-deal with the Gelsenkirchen outfit at the age of 31 on £60,000-a-week.

Arbeloa, who joined Madrid from Liverpool in 2009 for £5 million, also attracted the interest of Werder Bremen, but the prospect of playing Champions’ League football took centre stage.

In other news, Colombian centre back Balanta wil not be joining Real Madrid due to the club already having three foreign players ready to be registered in La Liga this season.

New signings James Rodriguez, Keylor Navas and on-loan striker Javier Hernandez are all considered as foreign by La Liga rules, meaning Balanta doesn’t have a slot left with the Galacticos.

Real Madrid are rumoured to be turning their attentions towards Valencia’s Ruben Vezo, with Olympique Marseille’s Nicolas Nkoulou also being watched closely.
wonderfully written and I am really, really, really into this story

REAL LAND GAYA

Real Madrid has signed Valencia’s highly rated left back Jose Luis Gaya after both clubs agreed on a £9.5 million fee for the 19-year-old.

Gaya was expected to start this season for Los Che at left back, following the departure of Juan Bernat to Bayern Munich, but interest from the Spanish giants was enough to bring the teenager to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Signing a five-year-deal on £45,000-a-week, Gaya has been tipped by many to emulate former Valencia full backs Bernat and Jordi Alba, taking the same trajectory as the pair from left wing to left back.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has highlighted his happiness at signing the Spain under-21 international.

“I’m very content with the transfer. Gaya is a very good player who carries plenty of promise and is also Spanish. It’s important to have a certain number of domestic players and we’ve added a fine one.

“I believe Gaya has all the conditions here to thrive. He’ll provide plenty of competition, as well as cover, for Marcelo at the left back spot.

Ancelotti did, however, refuse to comment on his interest of Paco Alcacer and Ruben Vezo, both of whom also play their football for Valencia and have been heavily linked to Real Madrid in recent weeks.
Great signing, shows a lot of potential to be a key player in the squad someday!

RACE FOR ALCACER

Real Madrid and Arsenal are stuck in a two-way fight for Valencia’s highly rated striker Paco Alcacer, according to Guillem Balague.

Sky Sports’ Spanish football expert, Balague, revealed that both Arsenal and Madrid had activated Alcacer’s £15.75 million release clause and that the two clubs are now battling it out against each other to convince the Spanish international to join them.

The interest of Madrid in Alcacer is well known in Spain, but it intensified over the weekend when representatives of the club were alerted by Valencia that an English club had activated his release clause”, Balague explained.

“That club was later identified as Arsenal and Real Madrid responded almost immediately with a £15.75 million bid of their own.

“The two will talk to Alcacer’s agent over the weekend and it’s now only a matter of time before we discover which of the two has convinced Alcacer the most.

“Arsenal may be looking at variety up front, but what we know from Real Madrid is that they want another striker to join Karim Benzema and Chicharito Hernandez. It’s all in Alcacer’s hands right now.”

20-year-old Alcacer has appeared 37 times in La Liga for Valencia, scoring ten league goals for his club, as well as three for Getafe in his 2012/2013 loan spell.
Nice structure to the updates and signings :)

It will be interesting to see if you stick with this story (I hope you do as it has started really well) seen as it is going to be even easier than managing Chelsea. Maybe the focus on Ronaldo will maintain your commitment to the story.

Good luck and no offence is intended with my comments :)

BLANCOS HIT BY BOTH BARRELS

Real Madrid has been dealt a double blow in pursuit of Valencia’s Paco Alcacer and Ruben Vezo, two of their primary targets of late.

Los Blancos were in a tug of war with Barclays Premier League club Arsenal for the services of Alcacer, but the Spanish striker has decided to join the Gunners for £15.75 million, the price of his release clause.

Alcacer agreed terms with both clubs but opted to join Arsenal instead on a five-year-deal, providing competition for Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck.

Having already given up on their pursuit of River Plate’s Eder Alvarez Balanta, Real Madrid will also have to do without the signature of Vezo this season, as they search for a replacement for Pepe after his £18 million move to Manchester City.

Madrid offered Valencia two bids for the Portuguese under-21 international, believed to be in the region of £10 million and £14 million.

Both bids were rejected and Vezo’s agent has stated that the player is currently under contract with Valencia and very happy to remain at the Mestalla, as Los Che’s boss Nuno Espirito Santo remains firm on keeping his compatriot.

MADRID BAG SHOCK SIGNING

Real Madrid has landed the shock signing of Munir El Haddadi for £10.25 million, the highly-rated Barcelona 18-year-old.

Munir was being touted as a potential addition to Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool side, with the teenager stalling over a new deal with Los Cules.

Having missed out on Valencia’s Paco Alcacer, Real Madrid snatched Munir from bitter rivals Barcelona by activating his £10.25 million release clause, tying up the Spanish international to a four-year-contract until 2018 on £43,000-a-week.

The Madrid-born La Masia product becomes the twelfth player to represent both Real Madrid and Barcelona, following on from the likes of Luis Figo, Ronaldo, Michael Laudrup and current Barcelona manager Luis Enrique.

Los Merengues are believed to still be in the market in search of more signings, hunting down at least one defender to cover for the vacancy left by Portuguese international Pepe.

NEW DEALS FOR TRIO

Real Madrid stars Sami Khedira, Marcelo and Jese Rodriguez have all agreed new bumper deals with the club, as they entered their final year of their current contracts.

The renewal of Khedira’s contract brings a definitive end to rumours linking him to Arsenal and Manchester United, as the Madrid hierarchy finally adhered to his wage demands.

The 27-year-old German is expected to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2019, earning £150,000-a-week for his services.

Crowd favourite Marcelo was another whose contract was set to expire in the summer of 2015, but the Brazilian agreed to renew until 2019, also for £150,000-a-week.

The wing back joined Real Madrid from Fluminense halfway through the 2006/2007 season for £4.1 million, playing 198 times in La Liga since.

Rodriguez’s contract was the only exception in that it wasn’t set to expire, but in aiming to elevate his £29.5 million release clause, he too was gifted a new five-year-deal on £63,000-a-week.

Jese, who came through the ranks at Madrid, appeared 18 times in La Liga last season, scoring five goals before damaging his cruciate ligaments, ruling him out for months.
Excellent updates! Signing a Barca starlet! That'll heat up the rivalry. :D

I wonder if Ronaldo will respond to the sales of Pepe and Coentrao, his countrymen? He was very unhappy to see Di Maria go, and also Ozil last season.

Carlo has got a tough job keeping both Ronaldo and Perez happy ;)

ZOUMA LOANED TO MADRID

Real Madrid has completed the signing of Chelsea’s highly-rated French centre back Kurt Zouma on loan for the rest of the season.

The former Saint Etienne defender agreed terms with Madrid following the transfer of Olympique Marseille’s Nicolas Nkoulou to Chelsea for £9 million.

Madrid, who was also interested in Zouma’s team mate Branislav Ivanovic, are likely to use the 19-year-old as back-up to Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos, having failed to sign Eder Alvarez Balanta and Ruben Vezo in the past.

Ancelotti has stated that he’s very happy to have loaned in Zouma and hopes he can provide competition to his expected back four.

“I know Zouma well from my time in France and he’s definitely one of the best young defenders right now. He needs to be hitting the right notes to progress and I’m glad he’s chosen Real Madrid as his next step.

“It’s no secret that we’ve been trying to sign a centre back and we’re more than happy to take Zouma in to fill that gap in our squad. He’s here to play games, so I hope he’ll be able to get into our team.”

Zouma will train with the squad tomorrow morning but is likely to miss out on their opening clashes versus Sevilla in the European Super Cup and the first leg of the Supercopa Espana against rivals Atletico Madrid.
