Ligue 1 table

After a good month Lyon are on top of the league! Lyon has showed great form in the league, but it will be tough. PSG is just one point behind and they have a very strong team. But if Lyon continue their great form, nothing is impossible.

Europa League first knock out round

Lyon can look forward to two interesting matches against the italian side Torino in the first knock out round of Europa League. It will be two good matches. The experience the players get by playing this kind of matches is very important for the future.

Coupe de France 11th round

After the wins against Red Star and Dijon, Lyon will now play against Toulouse in the 11th round of Coupe de France. Lyon beat Toulouse in the league the 10th of January. Hopefully they´ll do it again.

Coupe de la Ligue semi final

After the great win against Marseille in the quarter final Lyon will now face Toulouse in the semi finals. That means that Lyon will face Toulouse in both Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue next month.

Player of the Month - Alexandre Lacazette

Player of the Month award goes to Alexandre Lacazette. Who else? He had another great month, playing all nine games and scoring nine goals with an average rating of 7.4. Alexandre is a great player and it´s just a question of time before bigger clubs will be interested of him.

Henry's thoughts

http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/ab332/karam94/Thierry%20Henry%20FM14/9888.png
"Another great month for the team and a nice way to start of the new year. I´m very pleased with the fact the we´re in first place in Ligue 1. I´m very happy for the team. But it´ll be tough. PSG is a great team aswell and they can buy in principle any player they want. But we´ll do our best to keep our league position. I´m also pleased that we´ve reached the next rounds of Coupe de la Ligue and Coupe de France. Next month will be very important for us, with many important games. I hope that we can continue our great form and play good football!"

Next moth

February will be an interesting moth for Lyon with the semi final in Coupe de la Ligue and the first knock out round in Europa League to look forward to. Also they will play three matches in Ligue 1 and the 11th round of Coupe de France against Toulouse
Tearing it up mate! Nice updates too, just gotta hope you can widen the gap between you and PSG now!
1
The next game will be one of the most important ones, for the Season! Great month, keep that up!
1
AaronHJFT96: Thanks! Yeah it will be tough but if we can continue our form nothing is possible! :)
TaroMisaki: If we play good and grab some wins we´ll have a good possibility to win a trophy, maybe the league or maybe some of the cups. Thanks mate!

Gündogan moved to Manchester United while Ödegaard will continue his career in Lyon.

January is over, and so the transfer window. There has been some big deals, like Gündogan to Manchester United, Phil Jones to Tottenham and Mario Fernandes to PSG. In this article we will sun up the transfer window by listing the biggest and the most important transfers. Here´s the list:

"PSG continue their big spending. The 24-year old right back Mario Fernandes joins the club from the russian side CSKA Moscow. Fernandes is a quality player who will strengthen the defense. With Fernandes and Van der Wiel PSG has two quality right backs."

http://duckburgfa.it/img/giocatori/135266.png
"The left back Ghoulam has been very impressive at Napoli since signing from the french side Saint Etienne and now he moves to the english giant Manchester United. He´s a good player, but it´ll be tough for him to take a place in the team before the wonder kid Luke Shaw."

"This is a quality signing for Manchester United. Gündogan has had problems with injuries but he´s still a top class player and for the price of €14m it´s a great signing. He´ll improve the United midfield a lot."

A very good signing. Lucas Romero is a great talent with big potential. In Monaco he will play a lot of matches and improve. He´ll surely move to a bigger club in the future."

"Very nice signing from Lyon. Ödegaard is one of Europe's biggest talent and almost all the biggest clubs in Europe was interested of him, like Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern München. The transfer is probably good for Ödegaard. He´ll have a bigger chance to play in Lyon and that will be good for his development."

http://www.2014worldcupbetting.com.au/images/faces/england/phil-jones.png
"This is maybe the most interesting deal of the whole transfer window. What made United exchange Phil Jones for Vlad Chiriches. Jones is a great player and he´ll continue to develop in the future while Chiriches has been benched in Tottenham. This seems to be a great deal for Tottenham.

Marlon - Fluminense to Porto - €9m
Vladimir Darida - Freiburg to AS Monaco - €7.5m
Kevin Kampl - Red Bull Salzburg to Benfica - €5.25m
Duvan Zapata - Napoli to Sassoulo - €5m
DeAndre Yedlin - Seattle Sounders to Tottenham - €3m
Dorin Rotariu - Dinamo Bucharest to Arsenal - €1.9m
Connor Wickham - Sunderland to Hull City - €1m
Bryan Cristante - Benfica to Celtic FC - loan
Kingsley Coman - Juventus to Werder Bremen - loan

Europa League second knock out round

http://footymash.com/players/christophe_jallet.png
Wait, what? Not Lacazette? No. Lacazette has been really good this month (as usual). But Christophe has put in some great performeances at his right back spot this month. He has been really good the whole season and I think that he deserves the award.

Henry's thoughts

http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/ab332/karam94/Thierry%20Henry%20FM14/9888.png
"It has been another good month for us. I´m very happy about the results in Ligue 1 and that we´re still on top of the table despite the tough game against PSG. I´m also happy that we´ve reached the next round in Europa League and the final of Coupe de la Ligue. The only disappointment of the month was the loss against Toulouse in Coupe de France. But in total I´m really happy. Now on to the next month!"

Next month

In March Lyon will play six games. Four games in Ligue 1 against Lille, Montpellier, Marseille and Nice. As you can see there a some tough games. Aswell Lyon will play the second knock out round of Europa League against Sevilla.
Very impressive performance from your Lyon side so far, the fact that you are leading the Ligue 1 right now is particularly impressive and definately shows teams like PSG that football isn't all about the money. Further getting into the league final is very good and with your current form I totally expect you to win it so don't let me down ;) The tie against Sevilla is going to be tough though as they are a very good team still nothing seems to be impossible for you right now.

TheOtherSpecialOne: Thanks mate! I´m very happy with the team this far and I hope that we can end the season with trophies! :)

In the league the results has been pretty good aswell. Two good wins against Montpellier and Nice. But I think that we should´ve won at least one of the games against Lille (0-1) and Marseille (2-2). But of course I´m really happy that we´re still on top of the league."

Lyon is still on top of Ligue 1 with one game in hand. They had a pretty good month, two wins (Guingamp, Saint Etienne) and one draw (Stade de Reims). It´s just five games left to play for Lyon. The league title is coming closer and closer.

Europa League semi final

After the very impressive 2-0 win against Tottenham at home, Lyon lost with 1-2 at White Hart Lane but it was still enough to qualify for the semi finals. Lyon will face the german side Leverkusen. Lyon has done great in Europe League this season and now they´re just two games from a potential final.

Player of the month - Alexandre Lacazette

The award for the best player of the month goes to Alexandre Lacazette. He has had a great month, scoring five goals in six games. He has scored a total of 45 goals this far. That´s incredible. Alex has (as always) worked really hard this month and he deserves the award for sure.

Henry's thoughts

"I´m very happy with the month. We managed to win two games in Ligue 1 and I´m a little dissappointed that we did´nt managed to win the third game against Stade de Reims. I´m very proud that we knocked out Tottenham in the Europa League. Now we´ll face a tough opponent, Leverkusen in the semi final. Also we could bring home our first trophy with me as manager after a tight game against Saint Etienne. Overall I´m very pleased with the month. Now we have to make sure that we finish the season in a great way in May".

Next month

Lyon will play seven games (potential eight with the Europa League final) in the last month of the season, May. Five games in Ligue 1 against Evian, Caen, Bordeaux, Bastia and Stade Rennais and two games in the semi final in Europa League against Leverkusen. And if they qualify for the final it will be played at the 27th of May.
