Pellegrini walks away from City job after 'too much pressure'

Those were the words of Manuel Pellegrini just a few months ago. The much loved Chilean dubbed 'This Charming Man' by many City fans has decided to sensationally quit the helm. Pellegrini has quoted many lines of what he said in his title winning interview saying.

'The Premier League it is the best league it is the most competitive, the most hard to manage and I tired me, I grew weary and I decided that I had to leave. It was a very long season, but I am very proud I was able to manage this team, and experience the love from the club and the fans. I hope the fans keep the belief and faith they had in me in the new manager.'

Mancini back in City hot seat and glad to be

Manchester City have today rolled back the years by appointing Roberto Mancini as manager once again, the maverick and often volatile Italian became a legend at City after guiding the Mancs to their first top division title in fourty four years. A far cry from Pellegrini's quiet and understated demeanor his arrival is sure to shake things up at the ETIHAD Stadium but it could also mean players like Martin Deemechelis, Willy Caballero and Jesus Navas could have their futures put in serious doubt.

Mancini was reluctant to give much of a response than,

'I'm very happy to be back here at Manchester City, I can't wait to get back into the Premier League and be managing us again. I think we can win even more titles and become the best in the world.'

With Mancini battling it out with his old nemesis Jose Mourinho (the pair continue to argue over who did the better job at Internazionale) Mancini promises to (if nothing else) add even more entertainment to the BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE.

Sterling joins City, Dzeko and Jovetic Anfield bound

The first deals of Roberto Mancini's homecoming have now been announced as Raheem Sterling has ditched Liverpool for a move to the Prem champs Man City, with strikers Edin Dzeko and Stvan Jovetic going the other way.

How Sterling's shirt will look at City.

The estimated cost of the deal for the England international is rumoured to be £7,500,000 + Jovetic, after reportedly falling out with Brendan Rodgers after Sterling demanded more money than what Liverpool were offering him City have managed to get for a very good fee. Edin Dzeko also completed his medical and left Manchester City after three and a half seasons there.

Sterling seemed overjoyed with this move stating,

'This is a dream move for me, I mean it's not everyday you get to play fro the Premier League champions. Don't get me wrong I loved my time at Liverpool I'll never, ever forget what they've done for me and I will always owe what I have now in my career to the club and the fans who cheered me through the good times and supported me through the bad. But I just felt as though my ambitions weren't matched by the club, that wasn't Brendan's fault it was just that I felt City could offer me things Liverpool couldn't.'

Roberto Mancini was also quick to heap praise on his new signing as he said,

'Raheem is a fantastic player, he shares the ambition, personality and ability that we all have at this club. He can be one of the greats of the English football in my mind and I think not many will argue with me.'

At Anfield feelings were mixed upon the arrivals of Jovetic and Dzeko, with Jovetic's injury record and Dzeko's reputation for lacking all kinds of work ethic, but if Liverpool can get the best out of Dzeko and keep Jovetic fit then they could have themselves a very efective strike partnership.

Brendan Rodgers attempted to reassure the Liverpool fans by expressing his reasons for signing the two forwards,

'Well listen, I think that personality, intensity and work rate are all just so important in the modern game and Edin and Steve are two great guys, and great technicians they're going to be very important parts of our group and I have every confidence that they'll be fan favourites here.'

Marquinhos and Ould Chikh join as Mancini builds for the future

Manchester City have today announced that Brazilian centre back Marquinhos from Paris Saint Germain for a bargain £3,500,000 after being put on the transfer list by the French champions and Bilal Ould Chikh has arrived from Dutch side FC Twente as the sixteen year old joined on a pre contract due to not having signed pro terms with Twente.

http://cdj.topmercato.com/medias/images2012/2014-09-06-marquinhos.jpg
Marquinhos can become one of the best says Mancini.

Several fans have been quizzed about the new players and what their thoughts were on City's transfer activity so far, one such fan was season ticket holder Sean Byrne who replied by saying:

'I'm so happy that Mancini is back but we're all disappointed that Pellegrini couldn't stay, I think our signings have been good so far though. Sterling is going to rally add something to the team and from what I've seen of that Marquinhos he'll be quality as well. I haven't heard about that Chikh kid but if he's as good as they've been hyping him up to be then he's something pretty special.'

http://static.voetbalzone.nl/images/photos/originelen/2014/9/0170498643797000.jpg
Ould Chikh has potential, but will it be used correctly?

Mancini has also come and voiced his opinion in the midst of all of this.

'I know these players will do well for us, they would not be here if we thought they'd be okay or average, Sterling is going to be a quality player, Marc (Marquinhos) is one of the best young defenders in the world and Bilal is also a youngster with tremendous talent.'

Sterling: on of City's few English players.

When asked whether these players may harm younger English players coming Mancini retorted with a very 'Italian' response,

'Sterling is English isn't he? We aren't going to bring through babies, if we feel a player is ready to come up to the first team we will call him up to the first team. Brandon Barker he is ready, he has the build, the talent, the mentality. Pozo does not quite have the right build yet, he needs to become a bit stronger. When I feel a player is ready to come up to the first team squad then they will.'

http://i4.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/incoming/article8477570.ece/alternates/s615/CY36137042.jpg
'Bobby Manc' has been traditionally active in the transfer market.
2015-04-06 14:44#211273'Brandon Barker he is ready, he has the build, the talent, the mentality.'
While I understand that you're trying to take a more 'realistic' approach to this story in terms of player ability and potential, if the above statement holds true in your savefile then surely you've edited Barker's current and/or potential ability? From my understanding he's pretty average in the default FM15 database.

EDIT: Whoops, almost forgot to wish you luck with this story! As a Man City fan I'm excited to see where this goes.

This is looking really good so far, Sterling will definitely do a job for you :) quite surprised PSG let Marquinhos go though!

yuttra52- No I've not edited it I'm using the 15.3.0 update and his potential is 3 star. H be was in the first team squad and I saw a bit of him in some man city youth team games, he looks very good so I'm going to try to use him when I can.

Glenn T- Thanks! Yeah Sterling was unhappy with contract talks so I went in for him, but was very surprised how cheap I could get him for. Marquinhos was on the transfer list (I don't know why) but I know he has potential so I bought for not much. Thanks both for the comment! :)
brilliant start, as always man! Sterling is a great transfer! keep it up man, i'll be following

Milner signs new deal

Fan Favourite 'Jimbo' extends contract to 2018

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2010/08/18/article-1304052-0AD68952000005DC-205_468x389.jpg

Manchester City fans have today woken up to the delightful news that fan favourite James Milner has signed a new deal to keep him at the ETIHAD Stadium until 2018. After signing from Aston Villa for the fee £28,500,000 along with the services of then City's star playmaker Stephen Ireland in the summer of 2010 after he had won the PFA Young Player Of The Year award.

'I signed this new contract because I think I've still got challenges to accomplish and duties to fulfill, I've got a lot of love for City. The fans are great to me, that was a big reason for me staying. I want to stay here for as long as possible and help the club as much as I can.'

Boss Roberto Mancini was unavailable for comment but assistant Ferran Soriano did offer some insight into the Italian's thinking behind the new contract,

'Roberto is very happy James excepted our deal and wants him to stay for more years in the future, he has knows we want to develop English players and having an established England international such as James Milner is only good as it enables the young players to learn from him and have him as a person to look up to.'

There will no more chants of 'James Milner we want you to stay' and City fans can rest easy knowing that Milner isn't about to leave yet.

Undeserved shoot out victory gives Mancini more reason to smile

Manchester City claimed victory in the opening game of the English footballing season with a 4-2 penalty shoot out victory over Arsenal at Wembley Stadium. The Gunners started well, new boy Alexis Sanchez forcing a fine save from City stopper Joe Hart after fifteen minutes. The Citizens were struggling to settle and yet another poor pass (James Milner this time the culprit) Jack Wilshere somehow missed a sitter from around six yards, a weak left footed shot sliced past Joe Hart's near post. Perhaps heavy speculation linking him to a move up north to Manchester was the reason why.

City settled in the second fourty five minutes of play and were able to take the sting out of the game, but Arsenal were not to be deterred forever, and managed one more golden opportunity, Alexis Sanchez got in behind Gael Clichy and put the ball straight into the feet of Danny Welbeck but he dawdled on the ball for far to long, allowing Vincent Konpany to hack the ball away.

http://i1.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article4251146.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/Arsenal-v-Manchester-City.jpg

Ultimately it was Arsenal's new signings Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez that cost them, missing their spot kicks. With Sanchez having a weak penalty saved by Hart and Welbeck having a poorly struck kick from twelve yards saved again, Hart springing to the corner like a salmon after converting one himself.

A good start to the season for City and the Shield win is bound to get their campaign off to an upbeat start, but they will certainly have to up their game this season. They won't come up against sides as wasteful as Arsenal were in this game.

Mancini has his homecoming off to a winning start. Next up is Sean Dyche's Burnley in the Premier League.
Good start keep it up :D

Good start Iconic, and some nice signings! bilal ould-chikh is just my hero, amazing player I hope he's going to give you some joy. Try to keep it up and I'll follow!
1
Wellsy1498- Thanks I aim to *tips hat*

RicardoKishnaajacied- I thought your hero was Kishna? Yes some great deals in my opinion and Ould Chikh should get some plying time, but he'll have to do well to get in front of Navas and Sterling.

Reus spotted in Manchester

Long term Manchester City target Marco Reus has supposedly been spotted in Manchester following a proposed move to City. City's hierarchy are believed to have been tracking his progress since his first season at Borussia Dortmund.

http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/02359/dortmund_2359390b.jpg
'Rolls Reus' is still remembered to have finished of a great team move in the 1-1 draw at the ETIHAD Stadium, on October 3rd 2012.

City do have a wealth of options out wide though, with Jesus Navas, James Milner, Samir Nasri, Bilal Ould Chikh and Brandon Barker all very capable wide men. Rumour has it that Spaniard Jesus Navas could be sacrificed for Reus, with Mancini's former club Inter (now managed by former Italian National Team manager Cesare Prandelli) interested in him.

With Reus rumoured to have a £19,500,000 Release Clause rumoured to be active next summer, Reus has stalled over new contract talks and Dortmund may well cash in on him to get a good fee for his services. He was seen in the crowd for City's 1-0 Pre Season victory over AS Monaco and the 5-0 drubbing of South African giants Kaizer Chiefs.

'COME ON CITTTTEEHHH!!

This could spark a clearout at BvB with Ilkay Gundogan and Mats Hummels also rumoured to be in close contact with Manchester United and Real Madrid. City are also in the race to signed highly rated Everton youngster Ross Barkley, the Toffees asking price could put City of with a rumoured £50,000,000 asking price.

http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/multimedia/archive/00695/153242791_ross_695170c.jpg
Ross Barkley has been the subject of much transfer talk since last season's breakout year at Everton.

Another surprise target is that of VFL Wolfsburg's Kevin De Bruyne, who has flourished there after three torrid years at Chelsea (where he made just three league appearances in that time) with City having an average squad age just shy of thirty , despite adding Raheem Sterling and Bilila Ould Chikh the squad still looks in need of an overhaul.

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2015/03/23/10/26C8377000000578-3007446-image-a-5_1427107300463.jpg
Frank Lampard and Martin Demichelis is a prime example of City's ageing squad with players like talented young Dutch Centre Back Karim Rekik and Brandon Barker needing their chance to shine.

There will no doubt be stiff competition for the signature of Reus, with Borussia Dortmund's rivals FC Bayern Munchen, Liverpool and Manchester United all keen on signing him. However City are hoping their offer of a package of wages going into £200,000 a week will out gun Liverpool and tensions between Bayern and Dortmund will deter any deal being done.

It is hoped Reus doesn't follow in the footsteps of Gotze and Lewandowski.

Let's hope Marco will join you. Why does it not suprises me that you want to buy him? :P, anyway good luck!

Kane Vs Berahino Vs Reus; City's targets analysed

In light of recent speculation linking Manchester City with moves for young England strikers Marco Reus and Saido Berahino, we decided to compare the three and give you the information on who is best for the Champs. Will it be the Baggies electric forward Berahino? Spurs' HurriKane Harry? Or Borussia Dortmund's flying winger Marco 'Rolls' Reus?

Goals

All three of these men would offer a goalscoring force up front, with Reus obviously the more experienced of the three. Kane has shown he can finish on loan at Leyton Orient and Millwall, whilst he scored three times in ten appearances last season. He is definitely a diamond in the rough though as he has just seventeen goal in sixty seven appearances which isn't great. Berahino was West Brom's top scorer last season, but he only managed five in thirty two appearances he did get four goals in eight games at Brentford in 2011/12 and six in fifteen at Northampton in the same season he has seventeen goals in sixty five league appearances. Marco Reus has improved his shooting technique massively over the years at Dortmund's Footbonaut centre. , hitting double figures in each of the last four campaigns with sixteen in his previous season.

Winner: Marco Reus

http://c.smimg.net/14/15/borussia-dortmund-marco-reus.jpg

Physicality

It's clear to see that Kane wins this category, Berahino tries but just cannot match him and Reus' lanky frame doesn't hold much resistant to the strength of defenders like Terry, or Kompany.

Winner: Harry Kane

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2015/02/08/2570249100000578-2944794-image-m-90_1423412526486.jpg

Aerial Ability

This one isn't too difficult to work out either, Kane has shown that he is a man mountain and can head a ball superbly, he climbs like a human helicopter to nod the ball into nets here, there and everywhere. Berahino can also find space to nod the ball in. But this is definitely not Reus' strong point.

Winner: Harry Kane

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2015/02/08/2570249100000578-2944794-image-m-90_1423412526486.jpg

Speed

City certainly need more dimension to their attacks, with their attack being loaded with powerful and creative players but, other than Sergio Aguero, no one who is generally rapid. Reus and Berahino have this in bucketloads (Kane is really out of the running for this one) Reus' agility and balance help him burst through defences like a Gazelle, whilst Berahino has incredible acceleration and is virtually unstoppable when he hits top speed. It may surprise you but we're going with the Baggies frontman Berahino.

Winner: Saido Berahino

http://i2.birminghammail.co.uk/incoming/article7847915.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/Saido-Berahino-celebrates-scoring-Albions-third-goal-against-Burnley.png

Defending

Of course defending is not at all key to an attackers duties but in modern day football every player is needed to track back and help defensively, Berahino has shown he can keep up with the pace in a somewhat rigid West Brom line of fire. Harry Kane always gives his all from minute one to ninety and Marco Reus always has energy to get up and down the wing. Kane is more suited to defensive duties due to his height and build, Reus is normally able to stretch out a limb to block and Berahino's energy means that he is seemingly everywhere at once. But from what we've seen Kane has to be top for this category, he like James Milner as a Striker.

Winner: Harry Kane

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2015/02/08/2570249100000578-2944794-image-m-90_1423412526486.jpg

Big Games

The final category is for big games, Reus has shown in the past that he is a Big Game Player, scoting in Ruhr District Derbies, Der Klassiker matches and in huge UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE games. Berahino did well to carry his side last season, but five isn't the best total (as aforementioned), Kane has never shown he can do it on the big stage yet. But this could be his breakout year.

Winner: Marco Reus

http://c.smimg.net/14/15/borussia-dortmund-marco-reus.jpg

Overall Winners: Marco Reus and Harry Kane
