Down & Out

In today's news we find that Manuel Pellegrini has been relieved of his duties at Manchester City. It is following what the board of directors called a "Poor Season" in there terms and they feel its time for a change of personnel. Manchester City who crashed out of 'The Champions League' in the Round of 16 to a strong Barcelona side where they lost 1-2 at Home and then lost the away tie 1-0 sending them out (3-1) on aggregate. Before there dismissal from the Champions League the Mancs were also knocked out of the F.A Cup by Championship outfit Middlesborough where they lost 2-0 at the Etihad and were also knocked out of the League Cup. Threads were hanging thin and The Citizens where slipping away from league leaders Chelsea who where on course to steel the title from Manchester City. Surely if City didn't retain there title then Pellegrini was a goner. As the months dragged on Chelsea were still top of the league and City where sitting 3rd in the table, Chelsea only needed to win there next game to win the league and they delivered with a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace after a Eden Hazard penalty. Pellegrini was given till the end of the season where he was sacked last night after failing to meet all expectations set by the board.

Pellegrini released a statement on twitter saying "I thank all the Manchester City fans for there support and I'm grateful for being able to manage the best team in England". He was hit back with responses from many Citizen fans as well as a few famous faces such as 'Samir Nasri' who tweeted "Sad too see Pellegrini go, good luck where ever you go". Its clear to see that the players had a good working relationship with Manuel but all friendships come to an end. Where will Pellegrini head to now? Who knows but there are a few good job openings out there with teams like Borrussia Dortmund and Napoli available to him.

All heads will turn too who will be the next boss of Manchester City Football Club and the fans will find out in due course. The board of directors have made it clear who they want as there next manager and have only left the hint of "He is not currently managing a club" This leaves a whole spectrum of speculation with Managers such as, Gianfranco Zola, Gus Poyet, Jurgen Klopp and Carlo Ancelotti out of work. Below we have our odds on who will be the next Citizens manager and you can make your bets too.

Citizen Klopp

In the wake of Manuel Pellegrini it seems there is a new man at the Etihad stadium. It was announced yesterday evening that Manchester City had appointed a new head coach in the form of Jurgen Klopp. The Manchester board said they where extremely pleased to have got there man and couldn't wait to introduce him to the fans & media. The Citizens released a statement quoting "We're extremely pleased to announce Jurgen Klopp as the new face of Manchester City. He is a very well known and talented manager and he is here to take us to the next euphoria of our journey". Social Media exploded when the news broke of Klopp's appointment especially amongst City fans. Fans welcomed Klopp on twitter with kind messages and even transfer suggestions, one fan tweeted "@JKlopp99, Please sign Lionel Messi".

Klopp who's most recent team was Borrusia Dortmund had a poor season last year which led to his dismissal but he had turned Dortmund from a stone age team to Champions League runners up in a short space off time. Klopp also managed FSV Mainz before his trip to Dortmund but wasnt too successful there. Although he did have a good playing career with FSV Mainz playing a total of 325 games and scoring 52 goals in the space of 10 years. He originally played as a Striker until the year 1995 where he switched to a defender. He then retired in the 2000/2001 season and then became the manager of his playing club.

He was introduced to the press this morning where he was sat in front of some hungry reporters and asked questions. One question which came from the Independent said "So Jurgen what are your intentions with Manchester City" in which he replied "I think everybody knows Manchester City are a team of incredible quality and I think my aim is to win them the Champions League". Its interesting to hear what Klopp has to say but with the new season approaching quickly he has a lot of work to do. Unnamed sources from within the Manchester City hierarchy have revealed that Klopp will have somewhere around 60-90 million pounds to spend in the window this August and there a big plans for a complete overhaul.
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwh
I knew Klopp was comin in anyway

50 for 5

In today's news we take an in depth look at the transfer windown and who has moved clubs. There has been some suprising signings show up this window with a lot of money being spent. Probably one of the biggest transfers has to be the £34.5m Manchester United spent on bringing in Argentinian striker Gonzalo Higuain. Higuan left Napoli for a big fee and is more than capable of scoring a few goals and thats just what United will need this season.

Perhaps another good signing was the purchase of Andriy Yarmolenko for £22.5m by Chelsea Football Club. Yarmolenko is highly regarded as a wonderkid and has commanded a big fee and reputation at Dynamo Kyiv.

There is one team who have been perticullary busy and that is Jurgen Klopp's Manchester City. Since joining The Citizens, Klopp has been extra busy, especially in the transfer market. Klopp who has spent a total of £50.4m this window wil certainly be hoping his new men can help win some silverware.

Not only has Klopp bought experienced players he has brought in 1 or 2 young gems that look hot for the future, one of them gems being Hachim Mastour. Hachim Mastour is a 16 year old attacking midfielder who played for AC Milan, he is highly regarded as a hot player for the future and for a fee of just £2,000,000 Klopp hasnt done bad at all.

The biggest signing of Manchester City's window is undoubtfully the signing of 22 year old maestro Christian Eriksen. Eriksen who joined Tottenham a while back from Ajax has been on fire in the Premier League and is regarded as one of the best playmakers in the Premier League and even the world. For a fee of £36,000,000 it sure is a risk by Klopp but if Eriksen performs well then there is no reason why that fee can't be justified.

A lot of new players coming in. I'm excited that you signed Christian Eriksen and Konoplyanka it will be interesting to see how they and do and signing Hachim Mastour is massive for the future. Make sure the save doesn't corrupt this time! ;)
@Iconic, Thanks man, hopefully we can win the League and even the Champions Legaue. Hopefully it doesnt corrupt as I plan for long term :)
Great start to your story OMG.

Brilliant couple of signings too!

August Pre-Season

Since joining, Jurgen Klopp has really settled into Manchester City and has seemed to get things off to a good start. Starting his Pre-Season with a friendly against his Under 21 side behind closed doors in which City won 2-1. The Citizens then moved on to an opponent of a bigger size playing Slovan Librec from the Czech Republic.

Klopp described it as nothing more than a hiccup when City lost 2-1 to Czech side in which they instantaneously responded by beating Philadelphia 4-1 in a pre-season tour of America. The Citizens next opponent was in the form of Dallas who where powerless against a strong Manchester City side losing a sorrily 2-0 the Citizens.

On there return from America Klopp stopped of in Romania to play a small team from the Romanian 2nd Division 'ACS Poli'. In what was a surprisingly tight game Poli managed to hold City to a 2-2 draw leaving The Citizens a little deflated.

Wrapping things up was a sell out at The Etihad where Manchester City played host to giants Napoli. In which a case of revenge from there previous fixture Manchester City ran out 5-2 winners over the Italian side, a great night for all spectators.
