United in Deadline Day Swoop for Youngster

Correa is thought to be unhappy in Italy, and United swept in to capitalise

Despite protestations that the transfer dealings were over at Old Trafford, news is emerging today of a deal struck between Manchester United and Sampdoria for the loan of youngster Joaquin Correa. The 20 year old Argentine started his career with Estudiantes in Argentina, making 28 appearances for the club last season, before moving to Italy at the start of summer, but he has found himself unhappy, having not made a single pre-season appearance, or played a part in any of the season's opening games.

With Sampdoria not prepared to permanently part with one of their prime youngsters, a loan move has come to light as the best option, and the 20 year old will spend a season in Manchester, with Roy Keane holding the option to purchase him anytime for a princely £30m.

Quick on his feet, and with an eye for both the pass and for goal, Correa is capable of playing anywhere across the attacking midfield, and brings a new dimension to United's play - will he settle in England? Will Keane see enough in him to prompt a £30m transfer?

"I think we need to be cautious about how we approach this move" The reds boss told Sky Sports News. "Expecting instant fireworks from Joaquin will only increase the pressure on him, and that was one of the issues he faced in Italy - people expecting too much from someone who is, really, still just a boy. We'll develop him in our own way over the next year and see where that takes us."
Top player! He'll be amazing for you!!

Keane's Diary: September 2015 Report

New boy Correa has been a sensation this month in midfield

With continuing strong performances this month, we built a bit of a lead at the top of the table, and progressed strongly in Europe. I've been particularly impressed by our young players and the vibrancy of our play against most opponents.

Aston Villa 0-1 Manchester United
van Persie

Manchester United 7-0 Sunderland
Correa
Baines
Depay
Jones
Coman (x2)
Di Maria

Bournemouth 0-3 Manchester United
Fellani
Correa
van Persie

In Europe, we only played once, with an assured performance giving us a 3-1 win in Greece against Olympiakos

Olympiakos 1-3 Manchester United
Mata
Depay
Coman

In the Capital One Cup, we were given quite an easy 3rd round tie against Hull, but with a rotated squad, we struggled more than we probably should in a tough 1-0 win

Manchester United 1-0 Hull
Douglas Coutinho

Player of the Month: Joaquin Correa

The young Argentine has been spectacular for us this month, really giving cause to the £30m clause which is in his loan deal - a few more months like this and that £30m may start looking like a bargain for a player who is clearly supremely talented.

Injury List

Rooney - Torn Knee Ligaments - 3-4 weeks
Herrera - Fractured Skull - 2 Months
Powell - Twisted Knee - 3-7 Days
You're making me enjoy this :P Great month, well done! Top result vs Sunderland.

Youngster James Wilson showed glimpses of his talent this month

We had a busy month this month, and the fixture congestion gave me a chance to play some youngsters, such as James Wilson, Timothy Fonsu-Mensah and new arrivals Rueben Loftus-Cheek and Kyle Walker-Peters, who all had some impressive performances. But it was Douglas Coutinho who eventually took home the league's Young Player of the Month award, with Correa trailing in his wake in second.

Manchester United 3-0 Southampton
Douglas Coutinho (x3)

Crystal Palace 1-3 Manchester United
Mata
Januzaj
Pogba

Manchester United 4-2 Watford
Carrick
Shaw
Correa
Marquinhos

Manchester United 3-0 Juventus
van Persie (x2)
Januzaj

Manchester United 4-0 Qarabag
Januzaj(x2)
Pogba
Di Maria

Southampton 2-3 Manchester United
Depay
Wilson (x2)

Player of the Month: Adnan Janzaj

While he didn't take home any league awards, Adnan's performances this month have at times been nothing short of magical, and when we needed him to step up, he did so with aplomb. Challenging for a permanent spot on the right wing will always be a challenge, but at times, he's outperforming players like Juan Mata, and I hope that continues for a long time.

Injury List

Herrera - Fractured Skull - 9 days - 3 weeks
Shaw - Bruised Rib - 2-3 Days
Coman - Twisted Ankle - 2-3 Weeks
Good month, and good to see Januzaj doing well. :D

Great month there!

Collecting the league's Player of the Month award, van Persie was critical for United this month

In another solid month, we extended our lead at the head of the Premier League table to 9 points from second-place Newcastle, despite a lacklustre performance at Everton which marked our first league defeat, with only the 9th goal we've conceded all season in the league. A convincing performance against City, coupled with massive wins over Spurs and West Brom meant we head into December in a commanding position.

In Europe, we showed no signs of slowing our progress, with wins over both Qarabag and Olympiakos continuing our 100% record in a tough group.

There were no cup games this month, which lessened our congestion slightly, but next month we have a Quarter Final tie in the Capital One Cup against Watford, by which point we are hoping to have youngster James Wilson returned from his loan spell at Wigan, where he was sent to get more first team football as we faced what could have been a difficult month - and with Wayne Rooney back, I didn't want to stifle the youngster's development.

Manchester City 1-3 Manchester United
Mata
van Persie (x2)

Manchester United 6-0 Tottenham
Pogba
Rooney (x3)
van Persie
Baines

Everton 1-0 Manchester United

Manchester United 7-0 West Brom
Herrera (x3)
Douglas Coutinho
Correa
Marquinhos
Loftus-Cheek

Qarabag 0-3 Manchester United
Wilson (x3)

Manchester United 3-0 Olympiakos
Januzaj
Carrick
Douglas Coutinho

Player of the Month: Leighton Baines

Correa and Van Persie may have picked up the league's Player and Young Player of the Month awards, but my vote for the club's Player of the Month goes to dependable left-back Leighton Baines. Stellar in defence, he has been a massive part of our solid defensive record all season, and kept threats such as Lamela and David Silva quiet this month as we dismantled some huge teams.

Injury List

Juan Mata - Damaged Elbow (9-12 Days)
Rafael - Back Strain (2-3 Weeks)
Jonny Evans - Groin Strain (2-3 Days)
Angel Di Maria - Broken Ribs (1-2 Days)
Woah, what a month. Other than the Everton game, that's amazing!

Disappointing December for Reds, as Rooney Sets His Sights On Move

http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/02833/Wayne_Rooney_2833105b.jpg
With only 4 league goals, Rooney is coming under fire from fans

While Manchester United struggle through their congested December schedule, club captain Wayne Rooney has been asking for a move elsewhere, with Chelsea and Arsenal thought to be interested in the 29 year old

United won just three games in December, as Rooney returned from an injury layoff with less-than-impressive performances, and team-mate Robin van Persie became visibly frustrated with the Englishman's apparent desire to take all the plaudits himself, as Rooney repeatedly missed chances to play the Dutchman in on goal.

Capping his poor month with a straight red card against Norwich, Rooney has apparently been told by management that his request to leave the club he has served so well will be granted, and Chelsea and Arsenal are both allegedly interested in his services.

It is however, highly unlikely that Keane will allow such a well-regarded player to move to a domestic rival, and it may take a foreign interest to pry Rooney away from Old Trafford, with Real Madrid apparently circling in the background, waiting on their moment to take the Liverpudlian to the Bernebau.

But Who Replaces Rooney?

Probably, This man. Kevin Gamiero

The 27-year old Frenchman, who currently plays for Sevilla, has been touted as a potential replacement for Rooney, and he would certainly fit more with the style of Pass and Move football which United are playing this season.

Gamiero is reportedly in advanced talks with Manchester United officials, and may join £4m signing Hirving Lozano at a press conference on January 2nd
