A Look Into Chorley F.C.
As Chorley begin their second season in the Conference North, we are to have a look at the Chorley team. We'll start off with the expected 'best eleven' of the side and then break the team down into position order with some in-depth looks at the 'key' players of the club, one for the goalkeeper, defender, midfielder and attacker.

Starting with the goalkeepers then, Chorley current have two to their name,
Aaron Grundy and
Sam Ashton. We expect Ashton to be the preferred choice of the two, but expect Grundy to be used in cup matches and several times in the league to allow Ashton to recover from a rather grueling schedule.
Next we move onto the defence, starting with the right back's, where we have three possible options in
Tom Smyth, Mark Ross and
Andrew Teague. We expect Ross to be used in this position mostly as Teague and Smyth would play in their preferred position of center-back. In addition to Teague and Smyth,
Laquan Binley is expected to rotate in the heart of the defence. On the left side the only real left-back in the side is
Jake Cottrell.
Now onto the midfield and the right side again first,
Chris Almond, Adam Roscoe and
Ashley Mullholland will all be competing for the spot, however we believe the main choice will be Roscoe, who has spent most of his career at the club, Almond will be second choice and Mullholland will be back-up to him. moving on into the center we have
Dale Whitham, Harry Winter, Tom Baker and
Paul Jarvis. We expect the main duo will be Whitham and Baker, as Jarvis will be preferred on the left hand side and Winter is slighty out of favor. Alongside Jarvis on the left side is
Jack Dorney who we expect to just be used in rotation.
Finally we go into the attack where we see
James Dean, Aaron Burns, Josh Hine and
Darren Stephenson. There is much competition for the two places up front as all players have experience at this level, yet we do expect Stephenson to be one of the two and Burns likely to be his partner, Hine is expected to be used as a substitute and Dean is expected to rotate every now and then.
We managed to narrow down the players to
three key men for each position and give an in-depth look at them.
Sam Ashton

Sam Ashton is a top shotstopper and is expected to be one of the leading keepers this season. The 27 year old joined Chorley last season from Skelmersdale and was a key reason as to why the Magpies reached the play-off's last season. He is very quick off his line and decent kicker of the ball, however he struggles to organise the defense and is very one-footed which means he is likely to struggle on his left side, if he has to use it.
Andrew Teague

Andrew Teague is a top tackler and a born leader and is expected to be a key defender in the clubs plans. Teague has been here since 2010 and has 142 already for the club since joining from Lancaster. A man who owns a strong head as well as his tackles, Teague is a perfect defender for this league, despite his lack of pace.
Adam Roscoe
Adam Roscoe is very much a legend at Chorley, playing 232 games for the club already ahead of the season and the man who sent Chorley to the play-off final. At the age of 28, Roscoe still has years ahead of him and we expect him to be one of the best players in the league this season. He is very versatile and a top player. However he is not the fastest and that may let him down a slight bit.
Darren Stephenson
Darren Stephenson is a born striker for this level after banging in 15 last season. The Jamaican has an abundance of pace and stamina, as well as a brilliant work-rate and has been at the club since 2012 after a loan spell from Southport turned into a permanent deal. Although fans love him, players feel slightly different as his character is a bit of a clash.
