Looks like a great loan signing

As I bag the first Manager of the Month for the season, I fully deserve it as I picked up maximum points in the league, with our cup run going down to the fate of penalties against Nottingham Forest. Our loan signing of Samed Yesil and change of formation as a result has turned out to be an excellent decision on my part, as well as my scouts for bringing the striker to my attention. With the new partnership up top we have scored eighteen goals in just five games, with ten coming from Matthew Fletcher.

FIXTURES

LEAGUE TABLE

As you can see at the end of the first month, ourselves and Northampton Town go neck-and-neck at the top as we drop no points going into September. We have scored by far the most goals in the league, mainly due to the performances against Gateshead, Crawley and Dagenham & Redbridge, but we are also guilty of conceding one of the most amount of goals in the league this month, with Dagenham & Redbridge and Crawley netting three against us this month.

At the bottom of the table, Bolton Wanderers continue their downward spiral after having twelve points deducted from them due to administration. They have yet to pick up a point this season and remain on -12 points.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Given Fletcher's goalscoring form throughout this month, I struggled to find any other candidates that even got close to the Australian, who is already on ten league goals after five games. It looks set for the striker to have yet another goal-crazy season for us, especially now paired up with a strike partner in Samed Yesil in my first big formation shake-up since my arrival.
First month and already in first undefeated. Keep it up.
Really looking forward to the fixture against Bradford City!
Griffo: Carved by angels I swear ;)

MJK46: Especially for this level!

BPAPlayer: Matthew Fletcher

As he enters his third season at Horsfall Stadium with a bang, Matthew Fletcher speaks to Bradford Park Avenue Player in an exclusive interview.

Matthew, how are you today?

Not too bad buddy, yourself?

I'm great, thanks. Now, Matthew, it's widely known that you grew up a Sydney FC fan in Australia, who was your first love in English football?

Well I came to England at the age of thirteen and I'd always loved watching the likes of Wayne Rooney and Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer at Manchester United, but once I was signed with Sunderland at the age of fifteen it was my first club love here in England. Obviously Bradford Park Avenue keeps growing on me with every day I spend at the club. It's a wonderful place and I've had an incredible time here at the Horsfall.

I'm sure the fans here are also revelling in your top form here as well, but how do you feel about your form over the past few seasons?

I've been absolutely delighted with the way I've been playing since I arrived here. Obviously I have to turn round to people like Jack [Hallahan] and Samir [Nabi] as well as many others for supplying me with some great passes which turn out to be my goals.

And what would you say is your key to success?

Well I turn up to some matches and I listen to some music with some real 'umph' behind it to get me pumped, but when we're lining up on the pitch I keep my head up and imagine the opposition all on the toilet.

On the toilet?!

Yes, it's a little trick the manager told us all. He said he got it off one of his old bosses. It's psychology apparently - makes the opposition in a weak stance before we've even kicked a ball.

Interesting! On Adam Chabukiani - he's helped you a lot hasn't he?

Absolutely. As one of his first signings that he made here, he has kept encouraging me a lot as he has known me longer than most of the folk here. He's an incredible character and I'm not surprised that he has managed to project the club further and further up the leagues.

What are your opinions on the club itself, Matthew?

You know, when I came here, Chabukiani was also trying to find his feet at the club. We had toilet cubicle doors torn off or worn down, but the manager has got the chairman to process a complete overhaul of the facilities, from the toilets to the Horsfall Stadium pitch. The club is now looking better than ever, with the stadium getting a revamp with the new seats and an upgrade in youth facilities still ongoing, it is in better shape than it has ever been under the reign of the boss.

Thank you for your time Matthew, and we at BPAPlayer wish you all the best in the future!

Thank you, it's appreciated!
Nice little interview! Geez though Jack I don't think this story has enough followers haha
Nice update man looks really good too!
lovely update, as always man! definitely fast become an iconic story for the site in my opinion!
Griffo: Thanks man :) I just enjoy writing about my story! P.s. I can't seem to leave a comment on your story for some reason which is a huge shame :P

mgriffin2012: Thanks! :D

InfraRed: Always love reading your comments Infra, cheers man :)

After what was a simply flawless month in August, the typical Bradford Park Avenue disease of slipping form has crept in already, with the team winning one game from six as opposed to August's results of five straight league wins. Chabukiani's men picked up four other points from draws during the month, with their only loss coming against league leaders Northampton Town.

FIXTURES

LEAGUE TABLE

After sharing top spot in August with Northampton, our poor form has led to a slide down into third place as we enter the third month of the new season. Next month we will start our cup campaign in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy with a fixture against Mansfield Town away from home. We also face Bradford City competitively for the first time in decades in October, which will no doubt be a feisty occasion. In other news, our youth facility upgrade will be completed on the 18th October this month.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Despite a poor conceded to game ratio, Joel Lynch has had to work alongside different partners at the back this month as he continues to solidify his spot in the starting eleven every weekend. Although one clean sheet in six matches is hardly an astounding statistic, with the level of poor defending in this league it is rather acceptable. With the strikers hardly on form and midfield reasonable, Lynch wins this month's accolade.
Still going ok, stick with it!
Relatively good month, still in the top three! Keep going mate!
Griffo: No backing down now ;)

mgriffin2012: Cheers mate :D

RE: February Story of the Month

Hi guys,

This is just a message of appreciation to all of the readers who voted for my story in February's Story of the Month, leading to my ultimate victory in the poll.

This has been my first story to achieve such an award after joining the site around three years ago at the time of writing and I can only thank the readers who have taken time out of their day to not only read my story, but to visibly enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed writing it.

It was unbelievable to win the award with the competition that was nominated such as Griffo's Toulouse story, which I myself have followed in eagerness due to the addictive nature of his writing and topics.

With my motivation for this story being higher than ever after winning the award I can happily say that I have no intention to stop the adventure of Adam Chabukiani either temporarily or permanently and I am constantly looking for more ways to make the story a lot more enjoyable than it is and has been for many months.

Once again, thank you all for reading and I will be delighted if you will continue to come back for more,

Jack.
