I actually forgot to update as I was into the game so these past 2 months have seen us progress into the 2nd stage of the Rio State Championships and the first of the games against the fellow big guns of the championships.

To end the 1st stage we came up against bitter local rivals Flamengo in front of a parochial 55 thousand fans and they saw their team dominate but concede on the counter thanks to Shakhtar Donetsk loanee Alan Patrick and end the half 0-1 down. The 2nd half saw the team rewarded for their dominance and see out the match 2-1 thanks to midfielders Jean and Roma bound Gerson.

Come the 2nd stage and our first defeat to a lowly Boavista (RJ) side with their only shot on target to our dominance. This result prompted a re think of Fred's position up front and a tactical change for the Brazilian national striker.

The next matches against the local rivals and rivals of the championships seen Fluminense run out 2-1 winners over Botafogo and a 2-2 draw with Flamengo in front off 44k and 78k fans for the latter.

Player Of The Month - Gerson

The young Roma bound midfielder has put in 2 MoM performances over the last 2 months and 2 goals and a couple of assists. It's a shame he's bound for Roma for a 12 million pound fee but such is life in Brazil and the shambolic finances seeing us lose 1mill a month atm and 5mill in the red.

A pretty poor April saw the team forget to put the ball into the back of the net when they were in front of the darn thing. If it wasn't for ol Ronny himself who scored 3 of our 4 goals this month we wouldn't have made the Rio final but not even that takes away from a really poor month.

As you can see the 1st leg was a tough affair with plenty of yellows on either side but in a game we might have edged stats wise we came out one goal down and an away goal at that on the stroke of half time.

A man down in the 2nd half we still held our own but like so many matches before hand we just couldn't put the shots into the back of the net.

Not much to say about the 2nd leg with a dour draw giving Flamengo back to back Rio State Championships even though being dominated stats wise.

Player Of The Month - Ronaldinho

Ronaldinho might not have bagged the highest ratings for the month but he bagged 3 of our 4 goals for the month on his return from injury and cemented his spot with the starters for the start of the league season proper.

What looks like a good month really isn't so as half of those wins come against the minnows
Tupi in the cup. Once again we've struggled to hit the back of the net when given a clear chance
and this ahs forced us to change my tactics from a patient game to a out ant out blitz which is my normal way of things.

We opened the league season proper with a 1-0 defeat to Sao Paulo caught on the counter and not able to get back in the game.
Ronaldinho secured out first points of the campaign in the next match witha stunner from a free kick against Atletico Paranaense in the 80th minute.
our next win came after a shock loss to Joinsville in a 3-1 win against Avai where once again Ronaldinho was the inspiration and bagged a beautiful solo effort
to help us on our way to the 3 points.

A late collapse cost us in the last game of the month after left inside forward Scarpa bagged a goal on the cross of the right winger but we were unable to hold on.

Well Ronaldinho wins back to back player of the months and in the process bagged 3 goals and an assist this month in his 4 appearances. it's a shame he
injured himself in his last appearance of the month but he's only out for 2 weeks.

June & July Catchup

Well most of you have read the whole getting sacked thing guys and I picked up from my last auto save and tweaked some things and didn't post on here so here is a quick catch up after resuming from the auto save.

Also I didn't do the right thing and balance the clubs finances through selling players whhich ended up in my sacking before hand lol but now some are upset again because I didn't let a few move on......

Just can't win lol.

August was a long slog of a month with a 2 matches every week and 8 in all it was all about rotation and keeping players fit. Fred started his first
match in a month after a 14 game scoreless run and under a new role finally ended the goaless streak with a brace against bottom of the table Goias,
this followed two tough matches against Internacional and Cruzeiro which ended in goalless draws.

Fred bagged his second brace of the month home to Sao Paulo but it was the Roma bound Gerson who stole the headlines with a hat-trick in the goal fest
meeting with Sao Paulo in front of 22000 fans and two teams who forgot what defence was. Gerson bagged another 2 goals in the remaining fixtures for the month to take his tally to 5.

this month also saw the sale of two of our players to shore up the balance in what was a risky move considering how I lost my job the other day from selling a couple of players.
Wonderkid Marlon went to AC Milan for an initial 10 million pounds rising to 15 million and a 20% profit on next sale fee attached and back up winger Marcos Junior went to Lyon for 3.5 milllion.

With the club finances out of the red for the time being we won't be selling anyone else outside of our transfer window unless we get an amazing offer on someone as we are unable to replace the sold players
atm as our window is shut.

of the club.
