Everton captain Phil Jagielka has called for his teammates to do the club proud and win the Premier League title when they travel to the Etihad Stadium to play Man City.

"We know the situation and what we need to do," said Jagielka in an interview with Sky Sports.

"The lads are all buzzing and raring to go against Man City and we know what's at stake. Three points wins us the Premier League title, the first in the history of the club and we want it more than anything. With that said, we know that the job is not done. We know that we need to go to Man City and put in a performance to pick up the three points. That is what we have done all season long and we simply just need to continue that."

"We want to do it for the fans. The fans of this club are some of the best fans in the world and we want to do them proud. They deserve success and we are in the situation where we can give it to them. They will travel to Man City and back us and we need to deliver for them. A lot of credit has to go to the manager. He has been phenomenal since he came here and has really changed both the way we play and the whole vibe around the club. "

Ferguson calls for more

Last Updated: 9th April 2016

http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n549/JohnWarrington/JohnWarrington026/fergusonresponse_zpsncoh8oex.png

Everton boss Duncan Ferguson has called for more from his players after they missed out on wrapping up the Premier League title, losing 3-1 at Man City.

"It was a poor performance," said Duncan Ferguson.

"Obviously the lads are bitterly disappointed to have not won the title today and that's understandable. However, they need to realise that we have five more chances to get the points we need, starting with Newcastle at home next week. "

"The lads know that the performance wasn't good enough today but that's what happens when the pressure is on. None of the players have been in this position before so every game is a learning curve for them. Hopefully we will learn from this and go out against Newcastle and get the job done. It would be lovely to win it in front of the Goodison Park faithful."

After seeing Everton win the Premier League for the first time in their history, Evertonfc.com ventured out into the city to hear the reaction from the Liverpool public.

"Everyone at the club is in dreamland right now. This is what we have been working towards to the whole season and to finally achieve it is a dream come true. To a man, the lads have been exceptional and they thoroughly deserve their success and the joy it brings. We are under no illusions though, we know that we still have the FA Cup semi final and potentially the final to come and the season isn't over. Winning that would just cap a superb season off nicely."
Duncan Ferguson, Everton manager

"It's a proud day for the club and its supporters. Having been involved with the club for a long time, I have experienced the ups and downs. Both as a player and a supporter. Today makes all the hard times worthwhile and I'm sure the rest of the supporters will be celebrating long into the night. I have to applaud the manager and his team, they have done a magnificent job and hopefully that will continue for many years to come."
Graham Stuart, Former Everton player

"EVERTON WIN THE PREMIER LEAGUE TITLE. No, you're not dreaming, we actually did it. #EFC #Fergusonisagod"
GrandOldTeam, Everton fans forum via Twitter

"Absolutely fantastic, I can't believe it. I've supported Everton through good times and some terrible times like the 1997/98 season but this tops everything I've ever experienced as an Everton fan. The players have been absolutely brilliant all season and there will be noone in the Premier League that can say that we don't deserve that title. For years Liverpool fans have gloated about being ahead of us and how they were going to win the title. Who would have thought we'd win it before them. Superb."
Dave Lewis, Everton fan

"As a Liverpool fan, I hate to see Everton at the top of the table. However you have to give Everton some credit, they have deserved it this season.

Ferguson to make changes

Last Updated: 25th April 2016

Everton boss Duncan Ferguson has confirmed that he will make changes to his side for their Premier League match against West Brom at The Hawthorns.

"You'll see some changes, for sure," said Duncan Ferguson.

"I am aware that there will be many people who are saying that this is a bad decision that could blow up in my face but I think they are wrong. We have already won the Premier League title and it's clear that some of the players are starting to suffer from some fatigue, we saw that in the performance against Manchester City. "

"Joel Robles and Leon Osman will both play, as will Jonjoe Kenny who has just come back from a loan spell at Birmingham. I'm really interested to see how Jonjoe gets on after he performed well in the Championship, he's definitely one for the future. Leandro Rodriguez has been one of our most used players from the bench so I have promised him a start in the West Brom game."

TEAM NEWS

Liverpool only have two men out injured with strikers Luan and Divock Origi still recovering from torn calf muscles. England international Daniel Sturridge is likely to start as the lone striker with Roberto Firmino in behind with James Milner and Philippe Coutinho providing the wide options. Mamadou Sakho and Emre Can should continue at the back, despite Martin Skrtel being available following his recent knee injury.

Everton have only two injury worries going into the Merseyside derby. Argentine Ramiro Funes Mori is a doubt after picking up a knock in training this week and young defender Mason Holgate is out with a gashed leg sustained in Everton Under 21's 2-1 win over Chelsea Under 21's. Ferguson is likely to go with the same side as the Tottenham game.

PRE MATCH INTERVIEWS

Duncan Ferguson

"This is the biggest game of our season without any shadow of a doubt. A Merseyside derby at Anfield is always a big game but this one has extra special importance. A win on Sunday will really put the icing on the cake after winning the title. We will go out there and play the way we usually do and hopefully we can pick up the result we want."

Jurgen Klopp:
"For the first time in a long time, Liverpool are going into the derby as outsiders and that's something we will thrive on. There's no doubt that they'll be nervous, especially as they haven't won here in many years. The pressure is all on Everton and we are out to spoil their party. "

How Everton won the title

http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n549/JohnWarrington/JohnWarrington004/how%20title%20was%20won_zpsqxg3nxyw.png

17th May 2016

http://i1259.photobucket.com/albums/ii557/khronaldo89/ShareButton.jpg http://i1259.photobucket.com/albums/ii557/khronaldo89/FacebookButton.jpg http://i1259.photobucket.com/albums/ii557/khronaldo89/TwitterButton.jpg

How exactly did Everton go from mid-table strugglers to Premier League champions in one season? Phil McNulty investigates and delivers his verdict.

Keeping John Stones and Leighton Baines

Going into the start of the season, the futures of both John Stones and Leighton Baines were in question. Baines, who has been first choice left back for a number of years, was the subject of bids from Juventus and Chelsea but Everton stayed strong and kept their man. It was the same story with John Stones. The two have gone on and been ever present in the Everton side.

Ross Barkley's form

The form of Ross Barkley has been a massive factor in Everton's improvement. In the 2013/14 season, Barkley had a massive hand in helping the Merseyside club to the top 6 but last year, he struggled and so did Everton. This season, Barkley has been back to his best, if not better than what he was two seasons ago. The England international has been one of Everton's best players and has weighed in with not only 8 goals but 8 assists as well.

http://www.101greatgoals.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Screen-Shot-2015-10-01-at-12.37.42-PM-300x195.png
Ross Barkley has had a sensational season

Romelu Lukaku's goals

At the time, buying Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea for a fee of 28 million pounds was a risk. He was coming off the back of a good season on loan at Everton and there were doubts that he was a one season wonder. These fears seemed to have been realised when the big Belgian struggled last season. however, this season Lukaku has been nothing short of unstoppable. 34 goals in 38 games has seen him being Everton's main man up top and even led to him winning the Ballon d'or.

The anchorman

This season, Everton have gone with an anchorman sitting in front of the back four to provide support when defending and allow full backs Seamus Coleman and Leighton Baines to be more attacking. James McCarthy has been fantastic in this role, coming 5th in the rankings for most tackles per game and making 32 appearances in the Premier League. His performances have been so good that there are rumours that clubs like Arsenal and Real Madrid are looking at trying to sign him.
